TSoG Demo Out!

Saturday, May 8th, 2010

The first downloadable demo for Telepath RPG: Servants of God is out! (For Windows, that is. AIR is giving me some issues at the moment.)

The improvements this version contains over the browser-based demo:

  • Brand spankin’ new character portraits!
  • A rewritten audio engine!
  • Tons of sound effects!
  • Better enemy AI!
  • Bugs fixes galore!
  • The entire game’s soundtrack in mp3 format!

So, what are you waiting for? Get the demo here!

Music to Your Ears

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Telepath RPG: Servants of God has been updated with music! I’ve been writing a lot of music over the past few weeks to plug up some of the gaps in the game’s score, and I now feel like there’s enough there that I can comfortably release it with music. (In particular, check out the new Telepath RPG Theme! I just redid it this evening to make it sound even more awesome.)

I’ve temporarily gotten around the difficulty of increased build times from Flash compressing mp3s by having the game simply stream the music off the internet, much like the TSoG Music Player does. (Needless to say, in the finished game, they’ll just be part of the game, with no internet connection required and none of the occasional hang-ups that come with streaming audio.)

Anyway, the updated demo is online. As with everything, there will inevitably be bugs at first, which I will fix as soon as possible. Don’t forget to report any issues you have on the forums!

The TSoG GUI Update!

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

It’s finally here! I think you will all be pleased to know that Telepath RPG: Servants of God has been updated with a lovely, brand-new GUI that spans all areas of the game. The second crypt has been added as well, along with a few other goodies:

  • a more customizable battle GUI window that has two levels of minimization;
  • a new cut scene at the conclusion of  the battle with Jabbar;
  • two new orbs you can find and equip;
  • new character portraits for the Mechanics and Chief Hamzah.

I’ll be fixing little kinks and problems with the new GUI over the coming days–any bugs you find, please report them on the forums and I’ll do my best to fix them quickly.

Forum and GUI Updates

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

First, some new forums info: posting on the old forums is now disabled. The old forums still remain available to read, however, so you can find the old threads you liked and restart the discussion on the new forums if you have the urge.

Second, the GUI update is getting very close to dropping! Here are some screenshots to tease you with. :)

New forums!

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

Exciting news! We now have locally hosted forums, which means:

  • no more annoying ads on the forums,
  • no more random forum crashes that I can’t do anything about,
  • no more word count limits on posts!

I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty thrilled about it. Go ahead and register and let’s get to work filling the forums up with cool posts. :) Speaking of which, did I mention that user levels are back?

Forum Issues

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

Our old forum host has issued something of an ultimatum: all users must upgrade their forums by January 31st or face deletion. Unfortunately, the upgrade process is not working, and our host hasn’t responded to requests for technical support.

Right now, I’m looking into creating new, ad-free forums hosted here on the site for you guys. In the meantime, if there are any posts you want to save, now is the time to back them up! To help out, I’ve created a Fan Fiction page on the wiki to serve as a transitional home for all of the cool stories, poems, and game missions you guys have made.

In other news, my dad is home and recovering well. I’m back from spending a week watching over him, and will continue working on the game.

UPDATE: I’ve finally gotten the upgrade process working! The forums have moved to here for the time being.

Welcome to the new site design!

Friday, July 3rd, 2009

Hey guys, as you have no doubt noticed, I’ve redesigned the web site with the help of my friend Dale. The goal is to make it more focused and easier to use. (Because it’s in blog style, it’ll also make it way easier for me to post updates.)

I’ve decided to make the focus of the site less on being a Flash arcade (which it wasn’t very good at) and more on being a proper developer’s website. Note, for example, how the Games page now only links to games actually developed by Sinister Design.

All of the old hosted games are still available at their old URLs, however. You can reach them the old-fashioned way via the old website, which is archived here.

You might notice some changes to the site’s appearance over the coming days –I’m still tweaking it. Please be patient, and eventually, if luck is with me, it will end up looking fabulous.
