Title: Hell quest
Post by: Xemadus Echina on May 23, 2010, 01:04:13 PM
Hell quest into
In the distance a deep rumble is heard.  In seconds a great chasm opens up as you are all swallowed.  Falling, your skin is torn from your bodies as you boil from the inside.  A great demon appears before you and the immense torture of the underworld begins to take hold.  You cry out as a great fire consumes your body, leaving you as living corpses.  It seems as if this torture will never end and your only hope is to remove yourselves from a cognitive life.  Some go mad and begin to cannibalize whats left of themselves while others break at a slower pace.  Was it worth it?  Was finding out what hell is truly like really worth this torture?  A ray of hope shines and in the distance a light breaks through the earth.  Running towards it, it seems as if paradise has been found.  As you sit in the hall of the demon king you wonder what will happen to you when he returns to his lair.  But for now, you can only hope to escape the madness.
You fall to the floor and begin to repent but in the midst of your sorrow the demon king finds your cowardly form on the floor of his lair. Because of your insolence you are punished severely.  One hundred years later the demon king runs out of ways to torture you so he releases you to the pits of hell where you are maimed and further disfigured by the demons who reside there.  A look in a shiny rock shows that not one member of your sorry group holds a shred of your old appearance.  There is no hair on your body, it has been burned off, there is no skin on your body, for it has been torn off, there are no organs in your body, they have been dismembered in front of your own eyes, your hand are stubs, your feet are torn and your muscles are thin and almost nonexistent.  You lost all of life's pleasure ages ago as the only thing you can hear is a high pitched screaming.  The only sight you see is an infernal blaze that torments your very soul.  The only smell is a horrid stench that is over powering and mind numbing. The only taste is that of ash, death and decay as your entire being is rotting from the inside and burning from the outside.

And now, you are inaugurated into the tortures of hell.
{Just a little notice that is directed to everybody but was brought to my attention based on Mad's most recent post.  Don't jump the gun on your posts.  If you just say something along the lines of "I planted traps and killed everybody" then not only will we loose an entire section of the story, people will also tend to ignore your posts because it lacks description and plot.}  {Mad- Since this portion of the story IS branched off into separate arks.  I will have to ask you to edit your post to follow a more realistic path.}

I would like to hold off on rejoining our stories until all or most of the major players have posted their branches.  When that happens, I will create a large portion of the story much like in my first post to tie everything together using your posts.  If by some cruel twist of fate I am not around to do that,  that duty will fall to Duskling or Steelfist.  My only request if such a scenario happens is that the portion of the story you create is around the same length as the first post is.  You can call this a checkpoint of sorts where we head on to the next "season" of the "game"

I would also like to mention that your knowledge is separate from your characters knowledge.  We are narrators of the story who know what all the characters thoughts and feelings are.  Our knowledge is only limited when it comes to the thoughts and feelings of other people's characters.  We each have our own characters and there are very few instances when one of us can decide the thoughts and feelings of everyone's characters. also don't be afraid to edit your ark until they are all tied into one story again.

as of June 11, 11:06 PM Hell quest is officially over.  I will be taking some time to write an intro to heaven quest.
Should we create characters?
Title: Re: Hell quest

the only thing you can create in this story is a personality.

Okay-maybe explain a little more?
Title: Re: Hell quest
Post by: Xemadus Echina on May 23, 2010, 01:40:08 PM
alright so pretty much you just say what's going through your mind and any action you might do.  If you want you can make up a name for your character but as far as this game goes, you only control your thoughts, what you call yourself and occasionally your actions.  You pretty much need to outfox "the demon king" and escape the clutches of hell.

Mabye i can call myself Lighty >.>. Rainen you can call yourself ^*Rain*^ or a diff name and steel can call himself "Steel-Fist". We can all be in "Hell Prison" and we can start off like this :

Chapter 1: Escaping From The Hison. (Prison+Hell)

Hmmm... Okay, lead the way; I don't fully understand, but I'll pick it up as we go along.
Title: Re: Hell quest
Post by: .:Light-God:. on May 23, 2010, 04:02:15 PM
Here's my story (It may sound corny)

Chapter 1: Escaping the Hison

Lighty:"How long are we supposed to stay here???"
Rainen: "Well all i can say is i think we have to stay here for a few more decades..."
Steefist:"Damn! I can't wait that long! What should we do??"

-A Skeleton Guard appears outside the cell-

SG:"(Grumpily) Alright Bubs! Here's You Lunch!"

Rainen: (sarcastically) Sure(!) Thanks(!) (Mutters)

(SG Tosses The Lunch Into The Cell)

Lighty: "Hey look its a fork!"
Steelfist: "So?"
Lighty: "Mabye if we can use the fork to pick the lock... We can be free!"
Rainen: "Hmm i don't think it can work... Even though i'm a pro lock picker."
Steelfist: "Good to know >.>"
Lighty: "Well mabye if Rainen here can pick the lock we may be able to escape."
Steelfist: "What if one of the Skeleton Guards (SG) sees us?"
Lighty: "Don't worry about them we're professional Martial Artists aren't we?"
Rainen: "Alright then pass me the fork."

-Rainen attemps to open the cell door-

-CREEEEEK-

Lighty: "Awesome Job Rainen!"
Steelfist: "Yeah , well done!"
Rainen: "Oh it was nothing."

-Lighty , Steel and Rain creep out of the cell...-

SG 1: "Hey! Their Trying to escape!"

Rainen:"Uh-oh... Here comes trouble!"
Steelfist:"C'mon we can take them! I mean theres only 2 of them!"
Lighty: "Yep that's right! Steel is the most pro in martial arts... So he can do a 1 vs 1 and me and rainen can take care of the other SG!"
Steelfist:"I like your thinking kid! Lets go!"

SG 2: "Heheh, you don't wanna mess with me!"

Rainen: "Oh shut up! Just die peacefully , nerd!"
SG 2: "Nerd?! Why you little..."

-And so our heroes take care of the Skeleton Guards and hide them in a dark corner-

That's my story! I hope you liked it!  ;)

Does it go on for much longer? That's a little short, and you're right, it is a bit corny. It can, however, be truly intresting if you got some things right and made it longer, along with a few more characters (hint, hint).

lets just stick to my idea.  just create a name that you call yourself and tell me your thoughts and a few actions that you do.  I may or may not use the actions depending on where the story goes.  After all, it IS hell and you're subject to endless torture at any moment (though of course it does end eventually when the torturer runs out of ideas XD)

Ok, what do you mean by "thoughts?"
Title: Re: Hell quest
Post by: .:Light-God:. on May 23, 2010, 04:47:56 PM
adding satan , getting new characters deeper into the story etc. (btw i hope the story has a happy ending!)

And by now you should notice i have 99% Imagination and 1% Freakination (Made-up Word)

by thoughts i mean the dictionary definition.  You tell me what you are thinking and i respond in a way that makes sense.

How about we make a list of the people playing this game/story.

Like for example the people playing right now are,

LIST
===

Duskling
.:Light-God:.
Rainen
Steelfist

does is anybody seriously interested in playing this game in the way i have described?
Title: Re: Hell quest
Post by: Duskling on May 24, 2010, 10:37:38 PM
How about we just make a story, and each player adds to it; it's much simpler that way.
Title: Re: Hell quest
Post by: .:Light-God:. on May 25, 2010, 10:08:07 AM
Hmm sounds familiar... but okay
Title: Re: Hell quest
Post by: Xemadus Echina on May 25, 2010, 04:06:08 PM
that would work too. but then of course some people will want to ruin the story and some people will end up making a very nice section only to be ninja'd by a person who just types a few words.  also with multiple people writing it the flow of the story will be lacking.  here's my counter idea, you all say some words like actions and things like that then i turn it into the next portion of the story. that way it will all flow together. we could also make multiple threads with different rules and see which one is liked the most.
Title: Re: Hell quest
Post by: Duskling on May 25, 2010, 07:51:00 PM
Maybe, but why should we care if someone comes and ninjas the page? We could ignore them, we are civillized people, right?
Title: Re: Hell quest
Post by: .:Light-God:. on May 26, 2010, 10:17:14 AM
That's just what i was thinking! If someone would ruin the story then we can just ignore them and continue with the one that ISN'T ruining it.

What is with the bold words in the posts? And I don't really get the game, is it like an RP of sorts?
Title: Re: Hell quest
Post by: Xemadus Echina on May 26, 2010, 07:13:42 PM
yes it's an rp.  but as of now we are deciding on how to play it.  on one end we have everybody adds to the story and on the other end we have everybody tells a person what to add to the story.

it has already been started (read the first post) though if you want to go with my idea where you all just give ideas to me and then i add onto the first post i don't mind.
Title: Re: Hell quest
Post by: Duskling on May 26, 2010, 07:54:50 PM
Alright, I'll pick off where .:Light-God:. left off...

After killing off the Skeleton Guards in their area, Rainen, Lighty, and Steelfist came to a corridor when a Skeleton Guard shouted,

"There he is! GET HIM!"

Since Rainen was the most visible one at that moment, he thought they were screaming for him, but, in reality, they were after another.

"HE'S GETTING AWAY!!!" a Guard shouted, "GET HIM YOU MORONS!"

"I think this is a good time to leave now..." Rainen said.

"You think?" asked Steelfist sarcastically.

"How about that shaft over there?" Lighty suggested.

"Where does it go?" asked Rainen.

"Well, who cares, as long as it's not here!" half-yelled Steelfist.

(You guys pick off from here)
Title: Re: Hell quest
Post by: Bromtaghon on May 26, 2010, 10:03:21 PM
I'll join when we figure out the rules.  Is our goal to escape?
Title: Re: Hell quest
Post by: Steelfist on May 27, 2010, 10:51:53 AM
Steelfist clambered into the shaft first, onto his hands and knees, and muttered "Can't see a thing in here"
Lighty climbed in after him, and Rainen followed. Scrambling forward, Rainen heard Lighty give out a startled exclamation. "Steelfist? Steelfist!"
Rainen crawled forward... Onto empty air. He tried frantically to regain is balance, but to no avail, plunging into the depths.

Steelfist awoke covered in bruises, but didn't have, as far as he could tell, any broken bones. Sitting up with a groan, he looked around. He was in a room dimly lit with green light. The entire room was covered in trash. A few metres away, Rainen and Lighty were talking over a small fire they had made. He caught the words " No way out..." before Lighty turned and looked at him. "You're awake! I thought you might be worse of than me and Rainen; You broke my fall, and I got out the way before Rainen fell on me. So he fell on you, instead."
"Brilliant" Said Steelfist, calmly. "Where are we?"
"Not a clue" he said cheerfully. "Seems to be some kind of trash heap"
"Great. How do we get out?"
"Uh...Yeah...About that...We...Ah...We can't..."

yes we are trying to escape.  i'll work you into the story in my portion.

(Picking up again)

Rainen looked out over the area and sighed deeply: we'll be stuck here unless one of us can  miraculously find a way to dig a tunnel of some sorts.  And by dig i mean make a path going UP
lighty laughed at what he thought was a joke and Rainen threw a peice of trash resembling a broken plate at him.
Steelfist: THATS IT.
lighty: what?
Rainen: use the plate to dig out?
Steelfist(sarcastically): no we use it to dine on this fine meal
Rainen: lighty I bet you could dig a massive tunnel with this. Why not give it a try?
Lighty goes over to a pile of trash near the wall and pushes it aside.  to his amazement a small tunnel that you can crawl through is revealed.
Lighty: guess what i found a tunnel!
Rainen: yea go check it out lighty i'm working on making some super cool armor and weapons for us to use.
lighty: ok!
lighty goes into the tunnel and steelfist is wondering why on earth a tunnel would be hidden there.
Lighty: HEY GUYS THERES SOMEONE IN HERE (lighty screams)
Brom: YOU'LL NEVER TAKE ME ALIVE YOU BLOODY DEMONS (you're british now brom.  think you can handle it?)
lighty: ow! ow! stop it we're escapes just like you!
Rainen: HEY STOP THAT IN ALL NEED TO WORK TOGETHER TO GET OUT OF HERE
Brom: STOP YELLING YOU BLOODY RETARD
Rainen crawls into the hole with steel close behind
Rainen: ok so for one, how long have you been here? for two, what are you using to dig through here and for three OH MY GOD IM GLAD YOU GOT HERE FIRST
Brom: one, i think a day or 2. two, i made a shovel out of stuff i found around here. three, stop yelling or you'll get us all captured again you bloody retard.
Steelfist: hate to break it to you all but we kinda need to get out of here
Lighty: yea we do.
Brom: one of you dig i'm done for now
Rainen: noes goes!
they all touch their nose and lighty gets distracted
Rainen: you loose lighty get digging.

Picking up where we left off...

"I' am hating this, guys," Lighty whined, after a few hours of digging.

"Get used to it, you lost," Steelfist said rather harshly.

"Calm down, you two!" Rainen said, "We're not getting anywhere this way. Tell you what, I'll start digging now."

"Thank god!" exclaimed Lighty, happy to not dig any more of the dirt/rock combo.

"Yeah, yeah, let's just get going so we can get out quicker," Steelfist said.

"Ok Mister Grouchy," Lighty joked as he lay down on some relatively soft garbage.

"Why I ought to-" Steelfist began when Rainen cut him off.

"Guys, I found an exit!" Rainen exclaimed.

So they went and found another prisoner caving in a Skeleton Guard's skull with his boot.

"Eh?" he uttered as he saw them, "And who are you three?"

"We're-" Lighty was cut off by Steelfist.

"And why should we tell you?" Steelfist was cautious.

"'Cause I want out, too," said the man, flashing a toothy grin.

"Fair enough, but I'll keep my eye on you," Steelfist said, "You handle the introductions," he said, gesturing to Rainen.

"We're escapees, like you, I presume, that's Lighty, he's Steelfist, and I'm Rainen," he said, pointing to each of the team as he said their names.

"Now who are you?" Steelfist asked.

"I'm Dusk," said the escapee, "Now, are we gonna stand around all day, or are we busting outta hell?" he joked, with a small smile.

Now you guys pick off from here.

character list: i figured it would be a good idea to post personalities so other people know how to portray you better. here's a compiled list of what i gathered / made up.
Rainen: calm cool and collect, prone to assume the role of leader.
steelfist: down to earth and occasionally sarcastic. has an amazingly strong right hook.
lighty: upbeat and hyper. easily distracted but will keep on a task if asked to.
Brom: your typical British man.
Dusk: Smart alec, eager to fight.

Rainen: Im all for busting out right here and now but first we gotta make a little stop somewhere.
Rainen looks at the other members of the group
Steelfist(sarcastically): where the pits of hell? the demon king's lair?
Rainen: no the alter of the damned.  It's where the demon king creates the strongest of his servants. There is a rumor that i heard that if you get there and draw the power of the alter into your soul you gain inhuman powers that none of us have ever seen before. (rainen produces a map and points at locations as he mentions them)  we ARE gonna have to sneak by the pits though.  the one that we "visited" before is just a mid level one.  the highest level are where the demon king sends the ultimate servants he creates. whichever one lives past the rest becomes a general in his army.  after we get past that there's some caves that we'll have to go through and then we'll be in the barracks. we'll be able to pick up some equipment and possibly even some magic in there depending on which one we come across.  fortunately, it won't all be uphill from here. after we get past the pits the caves will be easy. then the barracks will be hard depending on the time we go there.  if we go while the minions are training it will be far easier.  Hell really isn't afraid of attacks or escapees so if we keep a low profile and stick to the shadows we'll have no problem.  Although we will have to kill the occasional demon since this is in essence a city.  most of the demons we see will be no problem whatsoever but if you see a demon that looks feminine, has wing or has horns then hide because those are all signs of elite demons.  the feminine is just succubus and they're no fun once they start eating your soul.
steelfist: and you know this how?
Rainen: i met a guy awhile ago.  he gave me the map before he was sent to the demon king for the last time.
lighty: what happened to him?
Rainen: nobody knows what happens when you get sent to the demon king. although something tells me you don't dine on wine and steak.
dusk:ok enough with this explaining crap lets just get on with it.
brom: calm down you bloody fool you're going to get yourself killed.
dusk: shut up you (mockingly in a fake british accent) bloody wanker
brom: why i oughta
Steelfist: calm down you two we have better things to do.
lighty: yea we have an adventure!
Rainen: alright so lets move out.
Rainen starts  walking down a tunnel when a bright flash is seen to the side of him. he jumps up and from under his shirt sleeve he produces a knife which is thrown directly at the demon's skull, killing it instantly.
Rainen: OK let's move out now

After a few hours of skulking through the streets, the team's journey is brought to a halt by a demon-operated checkpoint.

"Who didn't see this one coming?" Steelfist said, sarcasm dripping from his voice.

"This shouldn't be too hard, right?" Lighty asked hopefully.

"Maybe," Rainen answered, "The demons stationed on checkpoints are usually lazy, but news spreads quickly through hell, so they may have heard of the recent prison break."

"So..." Dusk started, "It's not going to be easy?"

"I said maybe," replied Rainen.

"Well, let's see, shall we?" said Brom.

"If you say so, Lord British," joked Dusk.

"I should just throw you over there for those demons to rip you apart!" Brom whispered loudly.

"Yeah? Any time!" Dusk challenged.

"Cool it, you two," said Rainen, getting annoyed, "We're not killing each other here, got it?"

"If you say so," said Dusk, "As long as I get to kill one of them demon freaks if something goes wrong."

After a quick and cool slide by the checkpoint, the team gets to the outskirts of the city to find the alter of the damned.

"Here we are," whispered Rainen, upon seeing two demon guards, he motioned for Steelfist and Dusk to take them out.

Swiftly, the two took a demon each, Steelfist cracked the first one's rib, only to strangle him to finish him off, and Dusk snapped the other's neck.
So they continued.

(Great list, by the way)

(thanks i try lol :p )

Rainen looks around and after a quick look at his map finds the right path towards the pits. "Ok so the first few minutes won't be a problem.  it's mostly just imps and goblins messing around with people."

Dusk looks up and smirks saying "how about we turn the pits into a pool then"

Brom looks at dusk and says "I do believe there are not nearly enough demons in there to fill the pits with blood"

Lighty looks up with bright eyes says in a loud whisper "Wait! what to they do to people?

Steelfist leans over to Rainen and whispers "Don't tell him how to breed. we can't risk it."

Rainen smirks and proclaims in a slighty raised voice "Ok guys lets move out"

(sorry for the shortness im in a rush)
Title: Re: Hell quest
Post by: Steelfist on May 28, 2010, 02:13:22 PM
After several minutes of travelling, Steelfist whispers to rainen "I don't like this; It's too quiet".
There had been no further incidents, and everyone was feeling apprehensive. "Maybe there's some meeting, or something. I'm sure there's nothing to worry about!", burst in Lighty.
"You know, I think that was quite possibly the most stupid statement I've ever heard" Said Steelfist sourly "At a meeting! There aren't even any imps! For gods sake... Or maybe I should say for Satan's sake. We are in hell, after all." Steelfist turned to the bouncing Lighty "and keep your voice down; they could be waiting in ambu-" Before he could finish the sentence, they were surrounded in a ring of demons; some were merely imps, but there was a single of the upper echelons of demon. Rainen swore. Steelfist swore, repeatedly. Dusk swore, in a mock English accent. Brom swore in an English accent, but mainly at Dusk for mocking his English accent. Even Lighty looked depressed. Steelfist said, after he had finished swearing, "There is a bright side, you know. Lighty will be dead. It almost seems worth it, now."
A large demon stepped forward and said, In a harsh, guttural and rasping voice "Surrender and die. Or don't surrender, and die a thousand times. Surrender?"
Steelfist's face brightened almost imperceptibly, and whispered to Rainen "Just wait for my signal; I have a plan."
"What's your signal?"
"You won't miss it. Watch and learn..." Steelfist strode confidently toward the apparent leader, and said, in ringing tones-

"After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen."

As he spoke, the demons began to clutch their ears and scream, almost as if they were in agony. The demon Steelfist was standing in front of collapsed and writhed on the floor.
"RUN!" he bellowed, as the earth began to shake. They ran, with Steelfist not far behind. After a while, he caught up with Rainen.
"What the hell was that!"
"The lords prayer; Demons don't enjoy having prayers recited at them. There's one problem, though. You notice the earthquake; that's the king of hell waking up, and he will not be happy..."

Rainen swore and said "Oh come on Steelfist couldn't you have just punched him?"
An imp appears from behind a rock and Rainen promptly throws a dagger through it's head
Rainen: I mean seriously.  MOST of us can fight.
Rainen looks back at lighty who appears to be enjoying every second of his tortured existence in hell.  A skeleton appears and dusk grind's its skull into dust.  Brom is swearing under his breath and occasionally he says in a slightly louder voice "BLOODY WANKERS I'M GONNA KILL YA" before returning to his grumbling.  Steelfist leans over to Rainen saying "I think he's starting to sober up." Rainen laughs and steelfist joins him.  Unknown to them all though, is that a dark force is lurking in the shadows.
Lighty "yaknow it COULD be worse.  We COULD be chained up in the pits." Lighty trips on a rock and some how gets tangled up in some ropes
Dusk laughs and says "Dude just don't talk, like ever.  Bad things happen when you talk. hey guys can we leave him there?"
Rainen smirks and looks at Dusk saying "nah man he's like my little brother... just taller. besides he lightens the mood more then British man over there ever does with his witty phrases and catchy accent."
Brom looks at Rainen and growls saying "If you make fun of my accent again I'll take a bloody fag and burn you with it"
Rainen: see? witty phrases that in America mean something totally different.
Steelfist smirks and in a sarcastic tone he says "yea gotta love the Brits"
Rainen: hey if it's between a Brit and a Frenchmen I'll take the Brit any day
Brom looks up and yells out "BLOODY 'ELL LOOK OUT RAINEN BIG 'OL MONSTA ROIGHT INFRONT A YOU" Steelfist looks up as does Rainen and after locking eye's Rainen hands Steelfist a dagger which is promptly used to slice through the demon's arm shoulder and head.
Dusk looks at Steelfist, wide eyes with his mouth agape and saying with a slight stutter "D-dude remind me never to get into a fight with you"
Steelfist: coming from you i'd say that's a compliment
Lighty: I think this place could use an air conditioner. Why is it always so hot everywhere?
Rainen does a facepalm and says in a disbelieving voice "Dude just don't talk unless everybody is down and or we're about to get totally raped."
Some time passes and the rumbling is heard again. after awhile it subsides and for just a minute, Hell seems quiet and calm.
Title: Re: Hell quest
Post by: Duskling on May 28, 2010, 09:38:06 PM
But right after the rumbling stopped a strange feminine figure appeared near an alleyway.

"Oh, bloody hell," muttered Brom.

"I think it's just about to get bloody, Brom, real bloody," said Rainen, drawing a dagger.

"Brom, you wuss," said Dusk, "You've never seen any action in your life, have you?"

"Hey!" Brom shot at Dusk,"Well... ok maybe not, but that doesn't make me a wuss!"

"I said, 'No killing each other!'" Rainen said, now losing his patience, "Besides, if we don't make a move or hide right now, that succubus will have us for dinner, most likely litterally, too."

"I say we kill it before it kills us," Steelfist said.

"How exactly are we going to kill it?" Lighty asked, somewhat scared.

"I dunno," said Dusk, "But none of that bible poetry crap this time!"

"That 'bible poetry crap' saved our skins last time!" Steelfist argued.

Suddenly the demon noticed them and started to laugh a scratchy and raspy laugh.

"We're bloody screwed," said Brom, "It's been nice knowing you gents... except you!" he said, pointing at Dusk.

"It's been nice knowing you, too, Brom!" laughed Dusk.

Despite her rough and elite appearance, the succubus didn't prove much of a challenge to the five, especially when they all attacked together.

"Oh, now I see," said Rainen, studying the demon's corpse, "That was only a minor succubus."

"You mean that there is something even worse than that thing?!?!?" Brom yelled, out of breath.

"Wow, Brom," Dusk said, "You really are a wuss!"

Rainen looks at the group and closing his eyes he begins to explain things.
"As you all know there are a variety of tiers of demons. At the absolute top you have the demon king aka the devil. Right below him are his hyper elites who are used for what we call spec ops.  Most of them are fallen angels.  Below them are his generals and each general has it's own hierarchy below him.  Out side of the army though you have arch demons who rule the lands under the demon king.  Then you have the large variety of various demons and below them are the demon worshipers and politicians.  At the very bottom are us normal folks.  There are also renegade factions in hell, each of them headed up by the mortal form of one of the 7 sins.  Each faction controls a specific portion of hell and each of those factions have different life styles according to the sin that leads it.  The factions are an extremely important factor in considering hell's strength because if they were to unit under the demon king, all of humanity and all of heaven would soon cease to exist.  Since the demon king has to fight his ex-minions the strength of hell is considerably weakened.  unfortunately it is still immensely powerful so that an attack on hell would be impossible.  It could also cause the factions of hell to join under a common cause.  Among the normal demons you have some that are more powerful then others.  That demon we saw back there with the imps was probably just a ring leader of some small time gang or else he was an enforcer of some sort.  That succubus we saw, thankfully, was nothing more then a seducer.  The strongest of succubus are able to trap you in a hallucination which they use to increase your pleasure before they make you experience extreme agony.  For some reason it makes your soul tastier to them.  But anyway, we need to get going.  It almost feels like something is following us."  Rainen opens his eyes and for just a short second they seem to glow a dull green.

The travel continued in relative silence for a few minutes, until the ground started rumbling again.  "Bloody hell," swore Brom.
"Uh, Brom?" said Rainen.  "Remember what happened the last time you said that?"  He looked around.  "It's about to happen again."
"You jinxed us," muttered Dusk.
"Stop whining."
"I'm not whining, I'm-"
Suddenly, a roar sounded in the distance, and a group of demons and imps emerged from a wall of red smoke.
"Blast," muttered Brom.  "We could really use some bible poetry now..."
Steel cleared his throat.  "After this manner therefore pray ye, our-"  He was interrupted as a demon tackled him.  Steel slashed the demon in the throat, whacked him in the head, and kicked him into the crowd of demons.
"Bloody hell!" shouted Brom, who was being attacked by five imps.
"That's exactly what it is," replied the imp in a raspy voice.

"AND IT'S GOING TO GET BLOODIER!" Roared Steelfist, now completely berserk, ripping out the throat of the demon with his hand and hurling him into the crowd. He wore a evil expression, and was already drenched it blood; none of it his own. Spinning round, he grabbed another demon, significantly bigger than the imp. Strangling it, he ripped off one of it's ears with his teeth. Roaring and laughing in equal measure, he dealt dealt to all that attacked him. The others, while not as formidable, were nonetheless holding their crowd. The next several minutes were a blur of blood, death and smoke, ending only when the group was victorious.

Steelfist looked with satisfaction at the corpses surrounding him with satisfaction, and said "Shall we move on, then?"

"No, let's stay here and admire the view of bleeding corpses and carnage."
"I'll take that as a yes," said Steelfist, and the group continued on through the streets of hell.

I think, when we reach the altar, we should be able to choose our own powers-Just post it before we reach it, then everyone gets the power they want.

Rainen led the way through the streets. They encountered a few imps, but they were killed before they could alert any other demons, and soon they reached a massive gate guarded by two demons. Powerful demons.
"I suppose we really should have seen this coming. How, O mighty leader, do you intend to get us past them." Said Steelfist mockingly.
"Shut up! I'll think of something!" Replied Rainen "Say... Some of those prayers might be useful right now"
"How about we try to think of something else first; I don't really fancy telling the King Of Hell exactly where we are."
"Okay, but if there isn't another way..."
"I know, but try to think of something."

After a few minutes, Rainen said "It's possible they haven't heard about our escape."
"Do you really want to risk it?"
"Not really, but even if they have, they probably won't recognize us until we're close- Then we can take them out."
"Fine, but if this gets us killed, I'm going to kill you."
Rainen smiled briefly, and turned to the others to explain the plan.

They walked with their head's downcast, to prevent any demons recognising them, and to fit in with their new persona as slaves. After what seemed like a lifetime, they reached the gate without anyone stopping them. They were nearly through when a harsh, barking voice said "YOU! COME HERE!" They stopped and turned to face the speaker, a bulky demon with the head of a dog. They walked over to him. "WHAT IS YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THE GATE, MORTAL?"
Steelfist stepped forward, as if to speak, but suddenly drew a dagger from up his sleeve and slit the demon's throat in one fluid movement. Dusk punched the other in the chest, winding it and causing it to drop to it's knees. A knee in the face sent it sprawling. It made to rise, but Brom stamped on it's face a few times, and it lay still. For good measure, Steelfist slit it's throat as well. They dragged the bodies inside the gatehouse before they could be spotted, and walked out of the gate into the wasteland. Rainen stopped and said "Okay. The altar is just across here" He pointed vaguely out into the wasteland. "Soon we'll be outta here!"

(I like the choose your own power idea but just don't pick anything TOO crazy)

Some time passes and encounters are won.  Lighty seems to have begun to loose his happiness and even steelfist is beginning to show signs of stress.  "Guy's listen up.  If we don't hurry up and make it through these caves we're all gonna loose it."  Rainen turns back around and his eyes glow a dull green like they have done before.  "Say Rainen how long are the caves anyway?" Steelfist looks at Rainen waiting for an answer "Nobody knows.  You can just hope to get lucky and see if you make it to the other side."  A fork comes along and Rainen walks down the middle path.  A second fork comes up and Rainen walks down a path that forms an upside down V shape with the path that they were just on.  "how the bloody hell do you know which path to take cause if your just bloody guessing i'll throw you against the bloody wall"  Brom returns to his grumbling.  "I don't know which way i'm going i just pick a path and hope it's the right one"  Rainen turns around facing away from everyone again and he smirks as his eyes glow green for just a short while.

As they kept going, something kept nagging at Brom.

"It's too quiet," he said.

"For once, Brom, I agree with you," Dusk said, looking around as if expecting something to jump out of the shadows.

"Keep your cool, guys," Lighty said, "We can get out of here... right?"

"At least we have someone here who can be optimistic," said Rainen.

So they continued cautiosly for about an hour or so, when something hit Rainen.

"They might not care if we broke out of prison! I mean, we're just a small group of prisoners, we can't seriously fight, or so they thought, and not many patrols we faced seemed to survive to tell the tale," Rainen explained.

"I suppose that makes sense," said Steelfist, "But the altar is probably still very well protected."

Several more hours of walking in silence, there was another checkpoint.

"Anyone else getting deja vu?" Brom asked.

"Nope, just you," said Dusk.

Then one of the demons spotted Lighty...

I reckon I would like, as a power, to be able to manipulate steel however I want, and to have a body made out of living steel.

"For gods sake, Lighty! Get over he- Oh sh*t, I think they spotted him!" Exclaimed Steelfist. "I suppose, if they only spotted
Lighty..."
"We save him." rainen replyed flatly.
"Fine" said Steelfist, "What's the plan?"
"We wait for them to walk past us to Lighty, then we kill them"
"I like it; nice and simple" smiled Steelfist, "But after this, I think they will start caring about catching us."
"After this, we will, hopefully, have super human powers."
"Good point. Dusk, Brom, you take one of them together, Lighty, rainen, you take another. I'll take the last one on my own."
"I thought I was the leader?"
"Not when it comes to a fight."
They waited in silence for the demons, and when they finally walked past their hiding place, toward Lighty, who was still frozen in terror, they were huge; twice the size of a full grown male. Steelfist leaped onto the back of one of them, stabbing it through the neck with his dagger. He then, keeping the dagger in the demon's neck and holding it firmly, slid himself smoothly under the creatures's neck and back up, in a full circle, slitting the creatures throat. The creature collapsed. During that time, rainen and Lighty had brought the creature down, but hadn't yet killed it, and Dusk and Brom had brought their demon to it's knees. Steelfist walked over to Dusk and Brom's demon and stabbed it in the eye, killing it. By this time, rainen had drawn his dagger and gone to work on the creatures throat, killing it.
"Okay, let's move." Said rainen, and led them into the compound that housed the altar of the damned...

Rainen stops suddenly and says "Ok guys listen up we're in the area where the alter of the damned is but we gotta get through the barracks first.  We're gonna have to take our time for this one because if we get spotted its over."  Rainen keeps walking but he sticks to the shadows.  After awhile he stops at a spot in the wall.  When the rest of the group catches up to him he kicks the wall and a pathway is revealed.  "Alright this  is it.  We can use this to sneak around into the armory.  Once we get some of the weapons and armor there we'll head on over to the Alter.  Lighty looks at Rainen and says "Why do we need armor if we're not gonna be seen?"  Dusk hits lighty and tells him to shut up.  After awhile Rainen stops moving.  A buzzing his heard off to a path on the left.  "whats that?" steelfist looks at the pathway "It sounds like the IEM's, or infinite evil machines.  they power the demon king's portion of hell.  We can disable them now but if we do we need to make it look like they malfunctioned or we can just move on to the armory and then the alter of the damned.

So they headed to the armory, facing a few lowly imps on the way, killing every one without remorse.

"How much longer?" asked Dusk, eager to get his hands on some destructive powers.

"I believe it should be through that door," Rainen said, pointing to a door straight ahead.

"Oh, hell yeah!" Dusk and Steelfist said at the same time upon seeing the armory.

"I take that one!" yelled Dusk, pointing to a guantlet with claws attached.

"There's even a range for the weapons to try out," said Rainen, "But don't take too long, I'm pretty sure that if the demons find out how big a threat we are, they'll send a whole battalion of elites to the armory to suit up; we don't want to be here when, not if, that happens."

"Don't worry, this won't take long!" Dusk said, clawing away at a practice dummy.

While Brom was trying to find a weapon, Lighty found something.

"Guys, I think you should check these out!" said Lighty pointing to some metal containers.

"I don't believe it," said Brom, "He found the powers!"

"Powers?" said Steelfist, "Lets crack 'em open like the skull of an imp and try them out!"

(I'll name my power after you guys)

Steelfist opened up a container, there was a strange silver-colored energy within.

Should I? Steelfist pondered.

"Hurry up!" yelled Dusk, "Or we're dead meat!"

"Alright," Steelfist said, and touched the silver light.

...

"Nothing happened," said Brom.

"Alright then..." Steelfist felt a pang of anger, then, suddenly, his arm turned into steel.

"Well," said Rainen, "Now you really have a steel fist, Steelfist."

"I want mine now!!!" yelled Dusk.

He opened a container with the light of the same kind as Steelfist, but with a distinct purple color.

"Do think it's smart to touch that one?" asked Lighty, fairly worriedly.

"Eh, I don't know what I'm doin' half the time," said Dusk, "So, might as well."

He touched the purple light.

...

"How did you get this to work?" Dusk asked after a few minutes of waiting for something to happen.

"I don't know," said Steelfist, "I just felt angry that we wasted the time coming here, only to be met with powers that don't do anything."

"Well, then," said Rainen, "I don't think something like that will work twice."

"Damn!" cursed Dusk, when an energy bolt left his hands and hit a nearby stalgbite, "Sweet!" he then said with a grin.

"Let's pop the rest of these cases open and get out of here," Rainen said, "Before they figure out what we're up to."

"I'm next!" called Brom.

Brom opened the next chest.  "Bloody hell! There's nothing in here!"
Suddenly, the chest shone bright green and a cloud of green light engulfed Brom.
"Do you think it's poison?" asked Rainen, stepping towards Brom.
"Nah, I'm sure he's fine," said Dusk.  "Wait another hour or two."
Suddenly, the light faded.  Brom looked around.  "That's it?"
He waited for a few more minutes, but nothing interesting happened.
"Bummer," said Dusk, waving his hand casually.  "Rainen, your turn."

OOC: I finally decided on my power! Except nobody, not even Brom, knows what it is.

Now we can get "Demonspeak" names, just send me a message with your personality, and I'll try to implement it.

"Alright then..." Rainen began.

Suddenly a blue, clever-looking demon cautiously opened the armory door.

"Huh?!?" the demon uttered, surprised.

Rainen drew a dagger and began to get into a throwing position when it began to speak.

"No!" it began, "You don't understand!"

"Oh, I think we do, buddy," said Steelfist, turning his body into steel.

"Hold on, guys," said Lighty, "Can't we let him explain himself?"

"Alright," said Brom, still thinking what his power could be, "You have five seconds."

"Ok," the demon explained, "I tried to sneak in here because, frankly, I'm no friend of the-" he paused, looking at Dusk.

"Ummm..." Dusk began, "Nice to meet you, too?"

"What's your name?" the demon asked.

"You first, I insist," said Dusk.

"Fair enough," it said, "My name is Fac, now you."

"It's Dusk," said Dusk, "Why me, though? Wouldn't you prefer him, over there?" he asked, pointing at Rainen.

"Secretive, eh?

"Someone pushed me into my furnace and here I am! When's dinner?"
"20 minutes past never," said Dusk

"I wish I shared your optimism, Rainen," said Brom

"Well..." the demon began, "I'm part of an Anti-Satan group, ran by a few ex-elite demons," Fac explained.

"That makes sense," admitted Brom, "That's why you tried to sneak into the armory? To get weapons to use against Satan?"

"Sort of," Fac said, "I was trying to sneak in there and rig them to explode, or malfunction, but then, you were there."

"Watch it, buddy," said Steelfist, turning his fist into steel, "Or you'll be leaving here minus a consciouness and a few teeth."

"Yeah, watch yourself," said Brom, drawing a sword he got at the armory.

"Let's cool down here," said Rainen, "We both share a common goal: defeating Satan."

"But I thought it was escaping hell," said Mad, now confused.

"That's our primary objective, but to achieve that, we must kill Satan," Rainen explained.

"I just can't stand your language!" interrupted Fac, "How can you speak it with such comfort?"

"'Cause we can," said Dusk, watching Fac closely, and keeping his guantlet ready.

"Well," said Fac, "There'll be time for specifics later, right now, we have to get the hell out of here."

"Fine, let's move," said Rainen, while Mad was trying to get Dusk to calm down.

"Come on," said Dusk, looking at Fac still, "There are demons to kill."

So, they were off.

{hey guys sorry i've been gone for awhile. final exams and all.  anyway im back now so i can moderate the thing and keep everything on track. fyi u guys totally blew the whole alter of the damned deal. that's where we were supposed to get our powers. not canisters in the armory.}

Time passed and the group kept walking along, Rainen, the leader with mysterious methods and knowledge, Steelfist, the expert fighter and master of steel, Dusk, hot headed smart alec with a powerful gauntlet, Brom, a British man with a mysterious aura, Lighty, upbeat and hyper, Fac, mysterious blue demon who is a member of the resistance, and Mad, a mysterious new stranger.  "Ok so guys listen up, even though those canisters gave us some powers I'm not sure if anything bad will happen because of it.  The only sure way of getting exactly what we want is by getting to the Alter of the Damned." Fac starts mumbling in demon tongue and Rainen responds in the same form.  Fac responds and Rainen looks at the group "Alright so the Alter of the Damned is unreachable for the next day or two.  The demon king and his highest servants are creating a super weapon to fight the renegades.  If we want to go undiscovered we'll have to let them go about their business and do some do some covert ops.  Fac you'll have to gather information. You're the only one that can have any hope of gathering information. *Rainen hands Fac a small device* I picked this up in the arcane vault.  It will return you to where the other beacon is.  I'll be holding onto that one.  *Rainen hands a necklace to Steelfist*  wear this, it will make your eyes glow red and an evil light will pour out from all the pores on your body.  Go beat up some imps and other low level demons in your steel form and see what you can get to help us.  *Rainen looks at the remainder of the group*  The rest of you will help me lay some traps.  I'll place charges in key points behind the walls and you will lay traps in the field.  If the Demon king is making a super weapon, chances are he will assemble his armies at the entrance to the alter in order to show it off and boost their morale.  Any supplies you might need will most likely be in the armory.  Just stay away from the arcane vault because it has more traps then you can imagine.  *Rainen looks at Fac again* When you think your done gathering information, try to contact the rebel army and see if you can get them to help us." Rainen looks around the area and just as he looks away from everybody his eyes glow green again for a second. "Move out!" Rainen dashes towards a small crevice in the wall and the rest of the team heads off in their own directions.

I'll do Dusk's part, since he's based on me.

Good, so now, where can I lay some traps? Dusk though as he walks in the canyon that demon troops are supposed to arrive at.

He thinks he needs to think of a plan, and he's right, he does.

So, Dusk thought, That crack over there looks like a good place to plant a bomb...

As he was devising his plan an elite imp sentry spotted him and identified him as one of the escapee prisoners and almost had enough time to telepathically contact a succubus when his head exploded.

"That's what you get!" said Dusk to the charred imp corpse, "I became a really good shot with this stuff," Dusk said to himself, looking at his hand.

He proceeded to plant a bomb in cracked spots of the canyon.

Hmmmm, thought Dusk, Then what?

He thought that if he could stop the convoy, he could pick off the troops with hit-and-run guerilla tactics.

Sounds good, Dusk thought as the first demon transport came into view...

Mad placed the claymores and waited.

Any second now....

An Hour later

Annnnnnny second....

Then he spotted the first platoon.

About time! Thought Mad as he dropped a rock on the floor to cause a distraction.

"Did you here that?" asked the platoon leader.

"You," said the leader pointing to three of his men "Check it out" he said pointing to the pillar

Damn it! I thought the whole squad would come!

"Um there's nothing here sir." reported a demon.

Okay let's try again.

"Alright get back here." said the leader, then mad dropped another rock.

"Okay this time I really did hear somthing!"

"Platoon! head over to that pillar!"

Yes! thought Mad as he detonated the claymores

After the explosion there were brief screams of terror and shock coming from what is now a pile of blood and gore under a blown up pillar.
{Just a little notice that is directed to everybody but was brought to my attention based on Mad's most recent post.  Don't jump the gun on your posts.  If you just say something along the lines of "I planted traps and killed everybody" then not only will we loose an entire section of the story, people will also tend to ignore your posts because it lacks description and plot.}  {Mad- Since this portion of the story IS branched off into separate arks.  I will have to ask you to edit your post to follow a more realistic path.}

We each have our own characters and there are very few instances when one of us can decide the thoughts and feelings of everyones characters. also don't be afraid to edit your ark until they are all tied into one story again.
Ok so now that my moderator duties have been fulfilled I'll continue on with the story.
Rainen's part:

After dashing through corridors behind the walls of hell, Rainen finally comes to a small cavern.  Following a path wrapping around the cavern he eventually reached a tunnel that lead out of the top of the cavern.  Some time passed and Rainen began to plant charges along the path he now walked along.  He looked at his map of the Alter zone and then followed a small fork leading off towards the gates of the Alter.  He knew that if he could collapse the roof of the canyon then a large portion of Hell's army would be obliterated.  In The distance he heard a whirring sound.  He ran to where he thought the sound originated and found a cache of Infinite Evil Machines.  After some thought, he opened up the casing of the IEM's and got to work on making it so that they would short circuit a few minutes after when he thought Hell's army would be assembled.  This has all been to easy. Rainen though to himself and looked around.  The total lack of sentries has to mean something big is going on or else the Demon King himself has felt it necessary to track my movements.  Rainen closed his eyes and sensed the psychic radiations that would signify the Demon King following his movements.

Anyway...

Just as the demon convoy was getting into place, Dusk heard the distant explosions of Mad's claymores. Apparently, the demons heard it, too, they started to head to the location of the detonations.

Damn it, Mad, thought Dusk, Now I have to rethink my strategy and everything!

Then Teroch, a particularly nasty demon whose name Dusk had figured out by the shoutouts for help for him, spotted Dusk and managed to give an alarm before lunging at him. Now, Dusk had learned a thing or two while he was still in prison, and that was that demons with names like Teroch, or "pitiless," weren't very smart.

"Yeah! Come 'n get me, tough guy!" yelled Dusk, standing in front of a stalagtite.

Needless to say, Teroch wasn't all that bright, so he went for the human thinking that he was just giving himself to die. But, just when he stopped thinking, he crashed into the giant stalactite, which fell on him and a transport unit. Noticing that he was still alive, Dusk crushed Teroch's head with his gauntlet, ending him.

"Who's next?" Dusk challenged.

Another demon lunged at him, this time, his name was A'den, or "wrath," whose name Dusk had again overheard in the shoutouts.

Before A'den could get within 5 feet of him, Dusk triggered a mine that sent pieces of A'den scattering everywhere.

"Anyone else?" Dusk yelled, "No? Let's go, then!"

For half an hour Dusk was slaughtering minor demons and imps that were sent as scouts in that convoy, and other demons before he had cleaned out the convoy and the canyon had 3 centimeters of demon and imp blood on the ground.

"That was a job well done," said Dusk, wiping his hands on his shirt, "I guess I should head back now."

And with that, he went to the rendezvous point...

Rainen wrote that the demon king was following him. I'll delete my post if you want but I think it could work.

What he meant by that, I believe, is that he thought that the Demon King was watching him, not following him.

ok so i have a few minutes of freedom to play with now.  So pretty much I won't be able to get on much if at all the next month or 2.  I'll try to get on at least once every other day from now on though.  anyway Dusk I'm putting you in charge of the thread if I do happen to be gone for long periods of time.  And yes My post was meant to be interpreted in a way that I was seeing if the Devil was watching me.  Onto my next part now.

After his suspicions were done with, Rainen decided to finish rigging the roof of the cavern to explode.  He heard the explosion off in the distance and upon scanning found out that it was Mad.  Damnit that kid is going to ruin everything.  I hope the demons still meet here. some more time passed and after running out of charges and heading back to the armory a few times Rainen sensed another disturbance.  He reached out and felt Dusk's mind in a high adrenaline state as well as the mental radiations of demons ceasing to exist.  After some quick thinking Rainen placed charges all around the armory and decided  the best course of action would be to start an all out war in order to draw the enemy forces into place.  He took some grenades and blew open a hole in the wall to use as an escape point since the entire cavern would be caved in once the charges were blown.  He ran to the rendezvous point and felt Dusk beginning to move the same way.

(this isn't part of the story but slowly I'll be introducing Rainen's true motives and powers.  The glowing eyes were a hint as to what will be coming and if you know me well you'll probably know what Rainen will turn out to be.)

Dusk was almost at the rendezvous point when his natural senses kicked in and told him that something was wrong.

It shouldn't be this quiet, Dusk decided, By this point elite demons would've been swarming hell trying to claw away at anything other than themselves...

As it turns out, he was right, there were imps and other demons creating a perimeter around the armory and running inside it. Then the explosions came.

Rainen, you've done it again, though Dusk, smiling and thinking of all the demon blood that was spilled back there.

In the distance, Dusk heard, "Hettir te hu'tuun ti te kal!!", "Burn the coward with the knife!!" in Demonspeak, shortly before hearing the demon's final fate, a slit throat, he could tell that Rainen had slit its throat because of the large ammount of gurgling that came next.

Looks lie he was spotted before he could make it, then, Dusk though, I might as well get comfortable, this might take a while...

After 10 minutes of hearing demon screams and imp screeches, all Dusk heard was total silence.

Any second now..., thought Dusk, now at the rendezvous point, keeping his weapon and power at the ready, Just in case..., he thought, still hearing nothing...

(Pick it up from here)

After beating, interrogating and brutally murdering several low-level demons, gaining no information, Steelfist decided to try something else. "Bloody stupid orders; why would low-level demons know anything?" He grumbled to himself, "What I need is a higher up-" he broke off as he remembered the nearby outpost. Wasn't there a lieutenant there? Surely he would know what was going on! Steelfist started toward the outpost.

When he arrived, the first thing he noticed was the six guarding demons. He could handle them, but not before they raised the alarm, and he would rather not advertise his presence to all of Hell. He scratched is head, but stopped when he heard a steely scraping sound. The sound stopped. Understanding dawned; He was always steel! he just looked like he was made of flesh. He concentrated on his arm. It began to change colour - not to steely grey, but to a darker skin tone. He grinned, and his body rippled into the terrifying shape of a Demon-Lord. He strode toward the outpost, filled with confidence, and his face thunderous. The guards saluted in terrified obedience, and one opened the door for him. "What is the meaning of-" The seated lieutenant spluttered, but stopped when he saw who he speaking to. The lieutenant stood and saluted. Suddenly, Steelfist whirled round, decapitating the accompanying guards and stunning the lieutenant. A guard opened the door, only to be skewered by a steel spike that had appeared in place of Steelfist's arm. Leaping outside, he dealt death to the remaining guards, and dragged their bodies inside, closing the door behind him. He calmly walked over to the lieutenant, who attempted to scramble to his feet. Steelfist hefted him into the air with one hand. "What does the Demon King intend to do with the army?" he said bluntly.
"I refuse to betr-" He stopped as he saw what Steelfist had transformed his other hand into, and swallowed. "War." He whimpered.
"Who with?"
"H-heaven."
"Armageddon!" Steelfist cursed, inadvertently crushing the lieutenant's throat, "I should have known!"
He turned and walked out.

Rainen was trapped.  A demon managed to grab him from behind and now one of the Demon king's generals was on the scene.  It spoke and the other demons trembled "Who are you mortal" this guy better not piss me off Rainen stood silently, smirking at the general.  A demon punched Rainen in the gut and he doubled over "WHO ARE YOU" the general roared in a thunderous bellow. Rainen began coughing  "throw this tiny little pipsqueak to the pits.  He won't talk any time soon"  Rainen stopped coughing looked up with a face frozen with rage.  He began speaking, just barely holding in his rage "did. you... just. call me a... Pipsqueak?" the general smiled and began to laugh as Rainen suddenly glowed a blue-green color "IM GONNA BURN YOU TO THE F$*&#@ GROUND YOU B@$+#^&" Rainen exploded into a fit of rage and the demon holding on to him exploded into a ball of blue green fire.  He threw his hands up and fire of the same color erupted from the ground.  The general looked in horror as his minions turned to dust all around him.  "Your next bait"  Rainen looked at the general with death in his eyes.  The general began to run but a sword ripped through his leg, causing him to fall.  He turned around and Rainen was standing there with a wild look that said he wouldn't stop until his victim was horribly maimed.  Rainen held out the sword and it dissipated only to be replaced by a new sword that was gray and looked like it was made of bone.  He swung it and it just barely missed the generals chest.  A second passed and the general burst out in sobs of agony and pain.  Rainen smiled and began to swing the sword in the same fashion as before, never actually cutting the general.  Rainen began to laugh louder and louder as his form changed into that of a dragon and soon it stopped.  The flames died down and the sword broke off into particles and dissipated like the first one.  Rainen stopped glowing and became human again he began to walk on to the rendezvous point.  I hope the others are there

(and yes i actually do get pissed off when people call me certain things.  thats where this whole scenario came from.  my older brother called me something and i ended up having him in a death lock kneeing him in the spine.  In my story though Rainen has a dragon form but it gets infected with a virus which causes Rainen to loose control of himself whenever he experiences rage.)

There were unforseen complications with Brom's trap coordinates.

Bloody hell! though Brom, One wrong twitch and I'm a goner!

Suddenly, a demon caught on to Brom's position, and, shortly after a sharp exhale, pounced at Brom.

"Bloody perfect!" yelled Brom, "Well, if I die, I'm not going down like some god damn red-shirt!"

He drew his sword and slashed at the demon, slicing off an arm and a leg. Just when it seemed that Brom would win, the demon noticed a flaw in Brom's tactics and took advantage, kicking him in his man-spot, and impaling him with one of his sharp-toed feet.

"AHHH!!!" screamed Brom, coughing up blood, "Heh, I hope you die screaming, demon scum."

The demon roared in rage and struck Brom's head hard enough to twist his neck, and with that, Brom fell to the floor. The demon laughed at Brom's corpse, and resumed his patrol, without an arm and a leg, a reminder of the encounter with Brom.

...

Rainen, not picking up Brom's emnations anywhere, was worried, for, moments before, he sensed a battle between a demon and Brom, he could feel the demon... but not Brom.

It could only mean one thing, Rainen thought, He's dead.

i have plans for fac as well.  And of course at the end of the game/story i'll have plans for every remaining member of the group.  But that wont be coming any time soon.  Any way here's the next portion.

Rainen has been walking for hours.  Jeez where the hell is that rendezvous point  He sat down on the ground and said to himself "What the hell just happened there...  I just totally lost it and then darkness..."  He sat there and silence for awhile and then suddenly jumped to his feet and started walking again I need to find my bearings and fast    Rainen started running and after awhile he came to an area that looked like a marsh.  oh crap this can't be what i think it is.  it just CAN'T be  Rainen took out his map of hell and traced a path.  He stopped on a ring with a label reading "dead marsh,  ring surrounding hell that is impassible and inescapable"

Dammit, Dusk thought, with no-one at the rendezvous point yet, What's taking them so long?

Having thought that he waited long enough, Dusk went on looking for Rainen, thinking him being the most valueble person of the group, and hoping that he can lead him to the others.

...

"Rainen!" Dusk yelled in a place where he was sure there were no demons, "Are you there?!?!!"

Shouting in any area of hell was a bad idea, especially when it was on high alert. A demon spotted Dusk, but instead of being idiotic and attacking him after recieving intel about the group, he disappeared to report to the Demon King.

Dusk, seeing something move from the corner of his eye, thought, Shit, Rainen will have to wait, as he set off after the demon.

since we've all pretty much split our stories, lets give a little back story to our characters for the next few posts until linking them back up again.  Of course I'll be bringing MY story into this so if you want to play along with it be my guest.  Though of course if you have your own story with your own driving forces and explanations then it'll turn into a sort of comic book crossover type of story.

Rainen stood up from where he was sitting and turned around This'll be a long walk back He was walked for a few minutes past the point where the marshes behind him were out of sight and then in front of him he saw more of the marsh.  He kneeled down and look at the marshes and screamed out "WHY!"  how could i have possibly gone into the dead marshes without setting foot in them  He got up and walked parallel to the marshes so that they were out of sight.  Some time passed and again he came upon the marshlands.  He began to recite some notes on the marshes from memory "the marshes are one of the biggest mysteries of the universe.  Nobody knows why but for some reason once you set foot in the marshes, you can never walk away from them.  No matter how many times you turn around or walk in another direction with the marshes leaving your sight you always end up walking towards them again.  Once you finally do walk into them and normal land is out of sight, you can never again leave them.  It seems as if you are constantly returned to a single point deep in the center of the marshes.  Ages ago there was a story of a man escaping the dark clutches of hell's dead marshes but alas it is only a story."  Rainen sighed and closed his eyes.  He began to reach out with his mind to try and find a source of essence, the driving force of his powers.  If i could just gather enough energy i could get out of the usual way but for some reason the only source of essence in this dimension seemed to be the alter of the damned...  I wonder if the demon king even knows how it truly works... most inhabitants don't know how their powers truly work. Rainen kept walking next to the marsh, never going into it but never leaving sight of it.  Again,  Rainen kept attempting to sense the essence that fueled his powers but again, he found no usable source. im gonna be here a looonngg time

When Mad saw the demons walking towards his position he was horrified,

Oh goddamnit! NOW how am I goning to escape?! Then he remembered that the platoon he killed had wepons...the very thing he didn't.

Okay let's see, sword, dagger, axe. I'll take the sword and dagger

"Hey boss I think I heard footsteps!"

"No! you think?!"

Those were the last words he spoken as the axe met with his head.

"There he is!"

50 demons vs. me? I think my only chance is to RUUUUUUUN!!!

"Don't let him get away!!!"

Because Mad thought he would need them later he placed extra claymores and nitro gallons all around the canyon and now that he's running from 50 demons he thought scrath that KNEW that he needed to detonate those bombs!

Such a sight, he thought  I mean it's not everyday you get to see guts flying in all directions now I gotta get outta here before the place is overun by demons! so he used a rock as a surfboard and before he knew it the place was indeed, overun with demons.

Wow it looks like all of hell is going to see that canyon! Well at least I'm not in there, now I better go to the rendezvous point they're probably waiting for me he thought all this while running to the rendezvous point.

Walking past a canyon filled with demons, still disguised as a demon lord, Steelfist smiled, a chilling sight, given his form. He continued on to the rendezvous point, and when he arrived he changed his form back to human. Only Mad was there, though. "Nice handiwork, back at the canyon." Steelfist complemented him, "I found out why they're massing their armies. Anyone seen the others?"

Rainen had been walking for hours. I REALLY hope Mystic bails me out of here... After awhile he sat down next to the bog and just listened I should have brought some equipment with me... Maybe one of those canisters...  Rainen sat down and closed his eyes to take a nap.  While he was sleeping he felt faint emanations coming from all around him. He jolted awake yelling out "THATS IT!" He jumped up and focused, drawing out what power he could from himself. This guy has been thinking with portals Rainen walked away from the bog until it was just barely visible. Alright it's time to get out of here. Rainen closed his eyes and focused. He looked with his mind's eye and saw the portal just a few yards in front of him.  He walked up closer until he was just a few inches away from the portal and then unleashed a portion of his gathered energy.  The portal right in front of him seemed to dissipate and he ran though.  A few seconds passed and it quickly returned the same way it disappeared.  Alright I need to hurry up and get back to the other guys. Rainen used his power and ran at super human speeds in what he hoped was the right way.  Some time passed and he managed to find his way.  Luckily for him he was still nearby the gates to the Alter of the Damned For once in my life i really did just get generally lucky He kept running and saw spots of  black blood everywhere Well looks like i missed some of the fun To his amazement he reached the rendezvous point to see Mad and Steelfist "Boy am I glad to see you guys." He stopped running and walked up to them right before passing off into a coma.

OOC: He's not dead. Its just his power is like his life force, it slowly regenerates naturally but if he uses to much he ceases to function if it is all used up he dies permanently.  After regaining enough he'll regenerate and be fine. try not to let this information effect your posts.

"You won't be, once I tell you why the army's massing" said Steelfist, smiling, but attempting to conceal the warmth in it, "Armageddon. If we get out, it'll be out of the frying pan and into the fire. We're screwed." He laughed, and said to Mad "Do you think he heard me?"

Rainen jolted awake.  His first image was of the remaining members of his group.  He had troubles placing their names due to being out for a longer then usual time. "sorry about that guys I guess I just exerted to much effort"  Rainen and his group started talking amongst themselves, bragging about their accomplishments and regaining the will to fight after their leader had been out for so long.  After awhile Rainen spoke in a calm voice "it's time to get out of hell guys."  Rainen focused his energies into a small blast and then proceeded to fire it towards a crack in the ceiling.  the entire cavern filled with explosions as the roof of the cave tumbled and broke into millions of pieces, smashing everything under them.  I hope that gives us enough time to get to the alter  Rainen rose his right hand and signaled the group to make a beeline to the gates of the alter.

I think you're in a different timeline from the main story.  The entire cavern sort of just collapsed so if you would either edit that or just make a new post bringing you back into the main timeline that would be nice.  Also the randevous point is right under a giant support column which is in an area that was untouched by the explosives that Rainen placed so that's how we managed to survive. currently everyone left in the party is running at a bee line to the alter of the damned.

the group ran past a battalion of dying demons and through the gates to the alter of the damned.  Rainen pointed and said "there it is" i can finally destroy it's new power source and get out of here "is that lighty?"  Steelfist pointed at a chained figure hanging above the alter of the damned  "Yea it is.  So i guess he's still alive then."  Rainen ran over and melted the chains holding lighty but by a freak accident he caught fire and began to burn.  As he fell to the ground he exploded in a brilliance of white light "hello mortals,  I am the god of light and you have managed to free me from my mortal form.  I will now grant you all my power"  The god of light charged up an immense blast and using his body as a weapon, destroyed the alter of the damned.  Time stopped and Rainen started to glow the same tealish color as before.  Steelfist became a hyperdense mass of living steel that caused the cave floor to compress under his feet.  Dusk became shrouded in a purple glow and energy shout out in sparks from his eyes.  The demon fac began to burn and his horns and wings tripled in size.  "This is the power of the alter mortals and now you all know what immortality feels like."  The god of light created a bright flash and in an instant, was gone.  Rainen looked back at the small group that remained.  "This is it guys it's time to kill the demon king" Fac folded his wings over, admiring them and said "Once the king is dead the various factions will become at war with each other.  I doubt they will strike at anything outside of hell for awhile."  Just then a deep rumbling sound emitted from a cave.  A demon the size of a large building emerged.  It had horns the size of a car with wings that were as big as those on a 747.  It had long sharp claws that could cut even the hardest of metals with two gigantic eyes that could paralyze a man.

OOC: Don't worry I got it covered.  Heaven quest starts in the next post.  Don't worry I'll leave the ending of hell quest as descriptive as I started it if not more since I learned a few new techniques.  AKA being able to take up half a page just conveying the message that a kid threw a rock at a tree.  (don't worry I won't be THAT descriptive)  Also I will leave this thread locked until I am finished writing the intro to heaven quest.

The demon king tried to strike Rainen.  After making some near dodges and escaping the charge with a few scratches Rainen yelled out saying "guys we gotta finish this and fast.  We can't let him live." Fac fell to the ground and after taking a moment he looked up at Rainen and shouted back "If the lord of the damned survives this fight we will all perish."  Fac looked solemn as he attempted to nurse a wound on his left wing.  Dusk was hiding in an indent in the cavern wall, trying to charge up a blast and sneak attack the demon king.  Steel ran up and jumped at the demon king, using his newly acquired denseness to shatter the demon king's shin.  The demon king howled with rage and created an immense blast of fire in his gaping maw.  He turned his head to the side and then in an instant launched the fireball at steel.  He tried to jump out of the way but to no avail.  The ball of fire struck him in the side of his leg and to his horror, he began to melt.  "I'm hit!" he screamed as he fell to the ground.  Trying to gather his wits he began to reform his body and took on the shape of a scorpion.  "Steel watch out magical flames don't function the same way as normal fire."  At that steel's tail began to glow red and, like his leg, it began to melt away.  He looked back in horror and then fac shouted out "Pierce the demon king with his own flames!"  Steelfist skuttled up and tried to stab at the demon king but he got swatted away.  Rainen returned to the fight and began to distract the demon king some more.  From his vantage point above the demon king Dusk rocketed off and flew towards the demon.  He had purple sparks flowing from his eyes like raindrops and in his hand was a large sword of pure energy surrounded by a purp aura.  He twisted in the air and rocketed off the head of the demon king and dug the sword deep into his back creating a ten foot long gash.  As he did that Rainen jumped high over the demon king and like Dusk before him, launched himself downwards, grabbing dusk and pulling him down increasing the size of the gash another twenty feet.  The Demon king howled in agony and tried to swap Dusk and Rainen off of his back.  Fac took his chance and flew up straight to the bewildered eyes of the demon king.  He swiped at the demon king, blinding him, and began to fall down towards it's chest If I consume the heart of the king his power will finally be mine!  Steelfist joined the final assault and changed form into a snake with a perfectly pointed tail.  He created a second tail from the steel that was effected by the magical fire and then separated it from the rest of his body I'm glad THAT is gone.  He slithered up to join his struggling friends and stabbed the demon king right through the heel He might not be Achilles but that'll still hurt like hell  As an after thought he reformed his body to create a sharp appendage on the front of his face and began to burrow into the leg of the demon.  Fac flew straight at the heart of the demon and taking a huge swipe,  split his chest cavity wide open.  After taking a few more swipes he was finally able to grab at the heart of the demon This is it, my destiny has finally be realized.  Fac tore the heart of the demon out and the demon fell to the ground.  Rainen and Dusk rocketed off towards the wall and rebounded landing safely on the ground.  Rainen Dusk and Steel stared in horror as Fac ate the heart of the demon king.  He curled up into a cocoon and the cocoon grew until it was the size of a very large house.  In an instant it exploded outward in a blazing circle of fire causing Rainen Dusk and Steel to fly backwards and from within stepped out Fac in his new form.  He was colored a dark blood red and black symbols covered his arms and chest.  His eyes were pure black and they emitted spurts of fire every so often.  Large fangs protruded down over his bottom lip and his wings were arched with bone protruding from the tips of his wings.  He spread them out to their full length and each wing was over 200 feet long.  Giant claws protruded from each of his ten fingers and when he rubbed them together they created showers of sparks.  His feet had bony obtrusions that caused his skin to appear bumpy and each of his feet had four long toes that each ended in a sharp nail.  He spoke with a voice that could cause a building to fall and said "Thank you humans for assisting me in achieving my destiny.  For that I will allow you to leave this place and continue on to a higher existence.  As for me, I have a kingdom to rebuild and when that kingdom is complete all will perish.  Dusk shouted out and said "FAC HOW COULD YOU.  WE TRUSTED YOU"  At the mention of fac's name a pillar of flame shot out of the ground and Dusk managed to narrowly avoid it.  Fac laughed and the ground began to shake.  "Silly human trust is for the weak, and unless you want to perish now I suggest you don't call me by my real name.  We had a reason for never calling Lucifer by his real name."  With a wave of his hand Fac opened up a portal near the place where Dusk stood "Since I respect your power I will allow you to live this one time.  I trust you will be around to watch all that you once cared for parish."  Steelfist rose from his landing spot and walked into the portal.  Dusk fell down in a heap and Rainen pulled him to his feet.  He whispered into his ear saying "Listen, he's not the same Fac anymore.  Just let it go and then we can kill him later."  Dusk brushed away a tear and Rainen walked through the portal. Dusk followed leaving the cavern ringing with the last words that he would ever make in hell "The next time I see you I'll kill you myself Fac.  Don't ever forget my name."  The portal closed and Fac mumbled to himself with a smile "Don't worry friend, the next time we meet you will come to my side."

OOC:  Don't ask me why I chose to make Dusk's character so emotionally attacked to Fac.  I chose him because he just seemed to fit the bill of befriending a demon.

Nah, I don't mind, that was actually the point of his character.
