Which do you think is overall better?

Tell me for what what reason you voted a certain one.
I have had both, although, not at the same time, and I would say that Xbox has a better online system, but for offline play I would have to go with PS3. They balance out fairly equally, however, so I will say no preference.
Personally, I prefer the PS3, however it's true the XBOX has some obvious advantages. What do you have now?

But seriously, if you're comparing the PS3 and the XBOX 360 you might as well throw in the Wii.

...That's because, although I believe the Wii is the worst, it sold more than the PS3 and XBOX.
What does that have to do with anything? My vote now is for Wii! I've never even owned a Wii!

360 is vastly superior to the wii. I personally have both, so i think i have a valid opinion. The wii is a cool idea, and is very appealing to a more casual gamer (noobs!), but it fails to compare to the 360 due a lesser online system, friends only within each game, worse graphics, smaller memory, and less processing power. Consider, for example, CoD5 for both consoles. The wii version has worse controlles, worse graphics, a worse friend system, less content (no Nazi zombies!), and no vehicles. Or Star Wars: The Force unleased. The wii version has worse graphics, less content, worse controlles, no friend system (i like to chat with my friends while playing), and you cant even play missions out of order.
As for Ps3 versus Xbox, id say they are about the same, but the Xbox is cheaper, has better games (Halo), and more of my friends have an xbox.
While I say that the Xbox 360 is my preferred console, don't forget it has the Red Ring of Death... which I got. >:(
The XBOX 360 IS cheaper, but it doesn't have better games (except for halo, of course).
PS3 is better for the enviroment. That is reason enough for me to always buy Playstation consoles.

I like the Wii because I don't have anything else. I have few games: Sports, DDR, Lego Star Wars, SMG1.
But the thing I like most about the Wii is the Miis.
I like the Miis, too. They often pop up in random games and it's a nice feature.

Red Ring of death is a red semi circle that indicates a system shutdown.
I prefer the 360, because:
A: Mass Effect, only for PC and 360
B: Gears of War, 360 exclusive
C: Cheaper
D: Better color graphics

wii it's just the best.
PS3, because it´s better for the enviroment, it has more advanced graphics, you don´t have to count gamerscore, it has better controls and it has Demon´s souls.

pruneman, there's no need to be like ^ that. You could just state that you like the Wii and why you like it.
No Duskling I think he has to go to the bathroom. Wii is a great consul but some games just aren't built for it.
The wii is going down, thanks to the brand new Playstation Move Motion Controller (http://us.playstation.com/ps3/accessories/scph-98060.html).
(Forgive the excitement, but I am desperate to prove the Wii is inferior to the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360).
The 360 is going to have something like the Wii also: Project Kinect. It's a little camera that records your movements and does them in the video game you're playing.
When and if that happens I will change my vote.
It'll be out on September 4th, maybe sooner, maybe later. Here's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinect) the proof.

Everyone is "trying to kill Nintendo" probably because it has had more success in the video game business than any other company in their day.
This reminds me of the U.S. and Toyota. Toyota I think is the most reliable yet affordable car in the whole world. But its made in Japan so the U.S. only wants U.S. made cars.
That is tragic, especially since Duskling wants a Toyota as a car! >:(
