Title: Mystery Project
Post by: CraigStern on July 25, 2010, 02:58:19 PM
I spent last night and all of this morning coding the groundwork for a really awesome engine in AS3. I can't say too much about it just yet, but I think you guys are going to be very happy once I announce it. ;)

First thing's first, though: I have to finish TSoG!

C'mon, Craig, give us a few hints! ;)
Is it a project we are alreday aware of?
Is it telepath related?
When are you thinking of announcing it?
Etc,etc, etc!

It is! ;D I'll be announcing it once it's in a playable state, but not before I've released TSoG.

TPA3 in a miniature version? Shadowling Assassin? "Make your own mini-Telepath?"

I think Craig enjoys the suspense, and the number of excited, curious fans. So here goes:
YAYAYAYAYAY! Is it gonna be uber-awesome! Tell us what it is. YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!

So, Craig, you still enjoy teasing us.

If there was a pool I would place my vote on a TRPG2 remake with the TSoG battle engine.
Or a money bill generator that would allow us to print "real" sinister design (http://sinisterdesign.freepowerboards.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1993) bills at home (ahh, old forums nostalgia).

Somehow I think that the 2nd option is less likely. :P

Edit: What if it was an engine that would allow units to occupy 2 or more squares?

Edit2: typo.

Is it the Board Game (http://sinisterdesign.net/forum/index.php?topic=15.0)?

I hope not.  That would be a let down when there are so many better possibilities.

Yeah, too much hype to be the Board Game, methinks.

I've been busy with a variety of things: working part-time, job hunting, reviewing games for IndieRPGs.com, working on the new Mystery Engine, and corresponding with voice actors for TSoG.
Since it is a new engine, that might mean that the project isn't Shadowling Assassin.  Craig has already created a game engine for Shadowling Assassin and Ham Sandwich RPG.

Awww, well judging by Craig's other games this will be awesome anyways.

As long as it isn't like TRPG1.

Yah. Telepath RPG1 is kinda lame. No offense Craig. It definitely is one of my least favorites.

I actually liked TRPG1, and relative to the rest of the flash game world, its pretty good. However, once I played TRPG2, it was left behind.

It wasnt the plot I disliked. It was just the length of the game/battle controls/layout. The rest was fine. When I first played it I thought, "Wow, if the creator of this game keeps going, this could be awesome!!"

Maybe it's tpa 3 with a new gameplay, that would be awesome.

Maybe it's an alternate version of TSoG where the queen didn't die and the academy is gone.

Hmm. I don't know. Let us not worry of what might be and enjoy now, for it is always moving... Moving... Moving on. Second by second, hour by hour passing every moment along with the tick tock of the clock of life. :P

The Board Game is made by the forumers, not Craig, so certainly it's not that. But still, why would it be a let down, eh? It's simply is different- something offline, not just online, and it has a certain appeal to it, especially to older members.

What I do wonder is whether Craig will change bhis mind and let us know before TSoG is released? :P

Is speculation still okay? 'Cause I think that it'll be continuing based off of a plot twist at the end of TSoG.

Hey, I hope that's the case, that would just be so awesome.

Well, that's what he did with TRPG1/2, and that was epic awesome.
