There will be at least ten playable characters
There are 10 or more characters planned.
1. Duvalier
2. Rahel
3. Luca
4. Griffin
5. Set
6. Malis
7. Arman
Assuming the spearman and red spriggat will be in game, that leaves one more character? Is it Gelf (http://sinisterdesign.net/forum/index.php?topic=35.0)?
Discuss, follow the Rules (http://sinisterdesign.net/forum/index.php?topic=37.0), and be nice.
Maybe it'll be something that we didn't expect like an intelligent bug queen who creates bugs to do it's work.
Maybe a gelf troll?

I don't really see that happening...
I like the idea of a young slow bug queen who you can recruit for food.
Maybe you could resurrect Nelis?
That's a Little scary. If she was that powerful when she was alive, what makes you think she won't kill you in the first 10 seconds of resurrection?
The hero kills nelis so not to much of a problem. Maybe if this goes trough your psy abilities or something has to be high enough to get nelis into your team.
Not just the hero. Luca would have to be powerful too, to bring back someone who's been dead x number of years.
It would be interesting. One can't help feeling that unless you were OT when you revived her you would almost certainly be obliterated.
It would be amazing to use Nelis though its well worth it.
Twitter page says that there is a new recruitable (not in the current version) character in game. It's mentioned in the same tweet as "New Ravinale marketplace dialog added.", so maybe there is some mercenary or something (I'm betting the spearman, even though I thought that Craig said that you may get the spearman through your actions when the crowd is chasing you after the execution mission, but I'm not 100% on that.)
I think that the new character might be a Shadowling Guardian because TPA2 tested new characters such as spirts, red spriggats and spearmen. It also included a shadowling guardian as one of the characters. Who knows though, it could even be Noctus Himself! (but propably not)
I think the recruitable character is someone new, who hasn't been discussed on the forums...

You forgot the Shadowling Healer (http://sinisterdesign.net/forum/index.php?topic=234.15).

I might include one. So far, I've limited it to just one healer partly to give the player a good tactical reason to specialize in shields.
Craig didn't seem to love the idea. Its probably, as Cypher said, a new character entirely. Maybe a Light Spriggat?

I think that is just what we want to see with a Light Spriggat, I like it!
Me too.... it would be nice for a change to have a spriggat teammate.

Here's the thing, though. You already had a Spriggat teammate in TRPG2, but it was a Spriggat that was common, and we already know that we're getting a Red Spriggat teammate, so we don't want to overdo anything... unless La'Man and this Light Spriggat could have a relationship?
Though I think a shadow guardian would be better Malis already counts as a shadowling on your team.
Hmm. What about a second fighter; specialising only in fighting, with no shielding capabilities. You have Set, a healer with no offensive capability, Duvalier, an all-rounder with both offensive and defensive capabilities. Why not have a fighter, with no defensive capabilities?

Isn't that Griffin? Or do you mean a Psy Fighter?
I meant a Psy fighter, yes.
I would say that Malis already holds that position... right?
I'm not so sure: She seems to be more in the style of a psy assassin.

True, but you described this character as one with only offensive capabilities, that sums Malis up pretty well.
That's true, but an assassin has entirely different uses; that's like comparing Darkling to Guy.
Its true that Malis only has offence attacks if you don't count the shadowports those are kind of neutral they can be used for both. But she is an assassin if you wanna get all technical its true she is the offensive psy. But in my book she is an assassin therefore does not count.
Well, thanks for supporting me in that, but what do you think of the idea?
If you consider Malis an assassin, the doesn't she count as extra since Arman is already there?

Malis is a Psy Assassin (http://telepath.wikia.com/wiki/Psy_Assassin), while Arman is a normal Assassin (http://telepath.wikia.com/wiki/Assassin). The only thing the two have in common is high mobility.

He got ya there.
Hmmmm..... I'd also like a shadowling guardian.
Their attacks is coincidentally similar to the hero's arsenal. But their move is a bit short. Unless they have shadowport though. I would spend a lot of gold to bulk up on psy.
I'm kinda against a shadowling guardian. It would ruin the diversity. Besides, maybe Malis will get dark vortex.

I don't think that's likely, since she's a Psy Assassin, and isn't even supposed to fight since she was a trader or something.
Yet she knows shadowblast.

Yet she knows shadowblast.
Probably because of the long and brutal hours of training. Besides, it could be natural for Shadowlings to learn Shadowblast, Dark Vortex, on the other hand, is a more elite attack that requires more training.

Duskling is right. Think of TRPG1. All the sentries were able to use Shadow Blast, but only one was able to learn Dark Vortex.
Could we say that with enough training from the Nameless One, she will learn it?

I think Malis is more of a Darkling style psy assassin, than a Shadowboxer style psy assassin.
This thread is the 10 characters thread, right?
The main theory so far: Hero, Griffin, Rahel, Set, Arman, Luca (or Luc'ar'il, or something), Malis, Red Spriggat, Rajav, and the last one is most probably a Gelf.
I recall something about the team having a red spriggat, but I might be wrong...
Rajav may be the Spearman.
I believe La'man is the Red Spriggat that you get (Craig has not mentioned a Frost Spriggat, or a choice between the two), and Rajav is the spearman. Craig also said he was adding a recruitable character. This character may be either Rajav or La'man, or somebody new.

I agree, if nothing else a shadowling guardian seems out of place on the team the way that the game is trending.

That is true I did I think. I love shadowlings and for those who are built for fighting I like the guardians and Tastidian.
Methinks, from what Craig posted on twitter, it will be the Spearman whom we'll be able to recruit- after all, there are no noticeable Spriggats in Ravinale, they're more likely to be recruited somewhere out there in Somnus. If Gelf is added as per the side-quest, he'll also be recruited outside Ravinale. What with the new dialogue and all, I think we're in for a spearman teammate.
Naturally, I'd love to see Gelf as the 10th teammate, and I wouldn't mind at all seeing a Shadowling Healer as the 11th, especially as healers are the main target with the new enemy AI.
I wounder if Gelf has improved his speech. Also I really don't want a Spearman mostly because I like psy attacks more than physical attacks.
Everyone has their preferences...

If the side-quests gets in without many changes, then the answer is "nope, not really". Gaggets.
