In this forum you can post some of your own Tile (for Map-Maker) Ideas. Please give a brief description of the tile, if it has any special qualities (I.E: Only flying units can traverse over it, nothing can pass on it). Also, explain why it would be necessary or needed in TSoG. The Top rated tiles will get added to the Formulated Tile Ideas (Which I am asking Ert or KZ to make if this forum become big).
Here are some ideas to get this forum started:
Boat Tiles:
Many people enjoyed the boat battles in TRPG2 (I know I did), so it would be only natural to add them to the tile set. Most people know what they look like what for those that don't, they are wooden tiles that have edge tiles to connect to the water (Un-traversable by non-flying units), a main cabin area (Un-traversable by anything), and some wood in the middle (Traversable by everything).
Snow and Rock Tiles:
There must be areas in the near future of TSoG that will be in a colder climate. The same goes with Rock/Mountainous areas. The snow tiles would include trees/bushes, paths, ice, and rock adds on to enhance. Rock tiles could have rocks, sand, and snow to enhance the battlefield. The tiles would be like regular tiles (Traversable by everything) expect in the place of trees, rocks, and what not.
Water to Forest Tiles:
The Water tiles only connect to land via sand tiles. It makes it weird when you are trying to do a forest map and want to add water for a little stream and you need to add a sand to water tile to add the water. However with this tile, you can mix water and the forest without having to add in the sand tiles (for a small stream). The tiles would in the sand to water formations and they would be un-traversable by non-flying units.
I was thinking maybe a 1 tile lava/water stream tile. Do you know what I mean?
I sadly don't Buggy, can you explain what you mean please.
You know how the biggest stream you can get with lava is 2 tile wide? I mean one that is only 1 tile wide.

I know that I would like to see a map similar to the Boat in TRPG2 Duel Mode.

I don't see the need. Lake Alto and Deeper Downs are as north as you can go and their climate isn't very cold. I also don't see the Hero climbing any mountains to fight anyone.
Maybe, but it looks nice :)
Plus, it could be a spoiler for future TRPGs.
What about my tile idea?
Do you remember the hut that you find Gelf in in TRPG2? I'd like a map tile like that to happen, so if there are Gelf enemies, then it would seem like we are invaders on their territory.

Yaya to all minus ice.

Getting a unanimous 6/6 votes are both the Boat Tiles and The Lava Stream Tiles should be added to the formulated (once it is created of course!).
The Water to Forest Tiles need around one more yay to be added to the formulated.
The Gelf-Hut and Mountain Tiles are both undecided right now and the results will come in after more votes.
The Ice Tiles, fortunately only got 2/7 votes so it will be dropped.
Remember everyone one who hasn't voted in all of them to vote quickly and for to submit new ideas to the forum!
Yay to all of 'em.

New Tile Ideas:
(Outside)Castle Tiles:
Surely the hero will have to fight either the Helenites or Mechanics sooner or later in the game. Wouldn't they have a fort or castle of some kind to stay in. If the hero tried to attack them instead of just bursting into the base right away he could have maybe a couple of battles outside the fort. They would be like the house tiles in the city (Un-traversable by non-flying units) but be stone-black coloured.
(Working) Stair Tiles
These are simple tiles, they let non-flying units get up to areas like houses and upper-area (only Travesable by Flying-Units) and let them come back down. These would allow for units to be placed on buildings and have them come down from the building without it looking weird. These tiles would look somewhat what the background stair tiles but they would actually have a purpose. They would come in Wood, Stone, and Tan/Brick (Ravinale House) Types.
Yay again to both of them.
yay for outside castle, nay for stair

Yay castle, nay stair.
Stairs take away the aspect of being unreachable by melee units from rooftops. You can fly with 2 units, jump with a third, and one of the flying units can juxtapose non-flying or leaping units up.
Yay for both castle and stair.
I don't see how the castle will work... is it like the palace of the Cult?
Its is like the the house tiles of Ravinale, expect in a forest setting and they are black/stone.

Maybe... more tiles to make the house bigger? Otherwise, it's just the house with a different color. So, if there are more tiles to make it bigger, and with a little story to it, I'm all for it, but if it's just a different colored version of the house, then, no thanks. Granted, they may have different colored houses in places like perhaps the North (hint, hint, Craig), and you should be able to make it look like the regular house, but also some more tiles to be able to make it bigger.
I wonder if Craig has even noticed this thread yet. I think it has SOME merit.
Don't worry: I asked KZ to make a Formulated Tile Ideas thread.
I saw. You didn't need to ask in the topics to lock, move, and merge thread though. What about a thorn bush tile? A dead bush with a sand base.

I agree!
The Sand bush Tile has also been added and thse who wish to vote on can do so.
Update: The forumlated section should be coming around monday. I think that with Ert and KZ always being so busy, That I could monitor the section. Does everyone agree?
Eh... Why not.

Eh... only Craig, who gets the ideas from the moderators, can decide whether or not to formulate an idea, so you can send an e-mail and ask, but I'm not exactly with having just us forum-goers posting formulated ideas, so just wait maybe until tomorrow, then if they don't show up, e-mail Craig,
if and
only if Craig allows it, add a formulated tiles list, and add the ones that have a general agreement.
Ohhh I didn't mention, Ert is creating the Formulated Tiles. I was just suggesting, in lue of Ert and KZ not being on as often, that I would post the New Tile Ideas that would be added to the formulated. It doesn't matter if I can't do it, It was just a suggestion. Sorry for any confusion.
Duskling: (Castle Tiles) I think they wouldn't be like the house tiles, they would be stonier. Also while the house tiles would have a downward slope, I was thinking the edge would go straight up like garrets (I think their called) on a medieval castle wall.

1. Alright then, but only formulate if Craig says it's ok, and everyone else agrees it would do TSoG good (wow, even though this forum is all about TSoG, we mention it kind of rarely, huh?).
2. I got that the first time, but will you be able to make it a
castle or just a different colored house?
1. TSoG: Wow...... thats just.......wow
2. Castle Tiles: It will look more like a castle (or fort) then a different coloured house. When it gets formulated it will be made sure it just doesn't look like a different coloured house. Does that mean you are changing your vote to Yay?
Side Note: 500th Post Ya!

sand bush, Yay.
I like it, yay for sand bush.
It would be a yellow sand tile. Red wouldn't look right my minds eye says.
Yay for Sand Bush.
maybe weak bridge tiles
like bridge tiles but with cracks, can be walked over twice total, by the player characters or the enemy characters. then it falls out and makes a broken bridge tile, this should make for some interesting battles.
That seems more like an enemy than a tile. Maybe you should suggest that in new enemies.
it's not, it falls when you step off and it's a bridge tile.
What would happen were a flyer to go over it? How would the program know not to add to the countdown?
craig could just say to count when some charachters cross or not, just list all non flying units.
Or just list the flying units. That makes for a shorter list.

The Outside Castle Tiles will join the Boat Tiles, Water to Forest Tiles, and Lava/Water Stream Tile in the to be added to forumulated
The Sand bush Tile needs around one more Yay to be added to the forumlated.
The Weak Bridge Tiles should be confirmed by Craig, before we vote on it, just to make sure it is possible to make.
The other Tiles still need more votes, if they are not voted on they will be dropped from the list and can be picked up again later.
That's lava and water stream tiles.
Trap tiles, sort of an enemy, but you can move through it, when you step you take some damage, they can be fired over and walked over if, for instance, you would be killed by a slow moving enemy otherwise.
I would suggest it as more of an enemy rather than a Tile Itself, also again don't you think it would be hard to code: I mean being able to move over and it able to attack you it pretty compicated...
Maybe, but could also be simple, I don't know much flash.

I just realized that that is very close to the Land Mine idea in "New Enemy Ideas," but without a blast radius and sort of a trap thing. So, if you're stuck on it one or two turns, it breaks, but if you get over it in a turn, it won't?
Exactly it breaks eventually but just hurts you a bit if you walk over it.
