General Discussion / Re: What does KZ mean?

That would be ruining part of the fun of this thread now, wouldn't it? ;)
Let's keep on guessing, for now, at least!

Nope, I certainly wouldn't.

Good then, I also find this highly unpleasant and unappealing, likewise politely put. Topic locked then.

Ah, so you're thinking of expanding the concept of having someone extra like Gen. Darekye on your team, but without the player controlling him?
I still think the map is too small for those type of things, but on a bigger map it would be a good idea.

I also think posts in Forum Games not counting towards your post count would be a good idea, as it encourages more posting in the other boards.
It is a good idea, it's been suggested recently and Craig has already implemented it on the boards- but all posts from the forum games section prior to that still count.

Maybe, but then I expanded it and actually gave some advise of how to avoid the situation in the future.

I can imagine that you are, but almost everyone does something akin to that, myself included, once in a while and gets singled out. Think of it  as a head-up on a few things- I wouldn't be doing this if it was I alone who thought it worth pointing out.

General Discussion / Re: Canada (with rules)

Finally I got you to state it: now your answer is put into context that others can identify with (ie you're from that land), rather than asking why you are answering a question, and in a very laconic manner.
See, the question is put  further promote explanations, which Zackirus is very willing to offer. And since he does expand on any topic at hand, then there might be extra information involved, willingly divulged, such as what are the Canadian's views  (or, in his view their views) on this maojor export, would they want to change it to something else, diversify, how long has it been the primary export, is it the primary export by far, etc.

Ok, here is then a question for you as well, (though on the condition that you still go there often, or currently reside there): to what degree and in which ways, if at all, did the Candians feel the global economic crisis? Some personal observations, maybe local/national media focus/reactions, etc?

Absolutely. If you look carefully, I, in a nice and friendly manner, addressed the issue, summed up what's said above amidst a lot of off-topic discussion and gave a suggestion on how to solve it in the future. I also tried to ensure that the user felt comfortable, after being cooly recieved by you, so that he will return to our forums and possibly contribute something interesting and constructive to the ongoing discussions.

TRPG2 / Re: Bug Theory (the creatures; not errors)
March 20, 2010, 08:00:46 PM
I have faith in folks who visit the forums to have intelligence enough to relaise it, without the need for someone to state the obvious, whilst not offering anything new, or even ageeing with discussion at hand.

Back on topic: im2msart4u, do you find that the Void Bug, or the Glare, or both, contradict the bug theory in some fundamental way? Will it really be required to change to a great degree?

Ok, let's put it another way: this is a thread started by a Canadian, hence I am not interested in answers from you, I am interested in anwers from him (or anyone else living in Canada, for that matter). It's the delivery that matters and interests me. There are many ways to come by this info, even if it's not completely controverisal,it's still interesting to hear in what terms the locals coach this info.

I am ensuring that these boards are not overrun with redundant posts, no matter what guise they form.
If you don't keep them in check, soon  there will be plenty of them.
All I am doing is letting you know of this, how that looks from the side is an entirely different issue.

See, I am not interested in Google results, what I am interested in, is what a person living in Canada would say. How they come by such results is a different matter, they might even use the same sources, what is interesting is how they filter them.

Yet another completely pointless argument made, Presenitment.
But I'll humour you this time: if you have not seen a bug occur, you cannot claim that it does not exist just because it didn't happen to you, when another users claims to have experienced it.
Apart from the last line, it does not contirbute constructively to the thread topic in any manner, and it does not holid in and of itself any useful and constructive feedback to any of the users.

General Discussion / Re: Global Moderator?
March 20, 2010, 05:54:39 PM
A Global Moderator is a person whose job it is to see that users don't break the forum rules to much and see to it that the overall atmosphere of the forums is such that the vast majority of users get a positive experience from interacting within the forums. A moderator can, as the name implies, moderate all posts by other users, including editing, deletion, merging, splitting topics and moving them around- all usually done for keeping the forums tidy and preventing such things as flaming and flooding taking place. With such abilities come responsibilities, and usually a moderator is a fairly intelligent person, who can stay objective and judge fairly most of the time, and can reason with many different types of people in order to avoid unpleasant situations (not to mention the lack of desire to abuse the said powers given.) A user who eventually becomes the moderator also doesn't usually ask to become one, but is rather asked by the current administrator of the forums (and that be CraigStern).

TSoG Wish List / Re: Shadowling Healer Teammate
March 20, 2010, 05:33:51 PM
Well, Craig, if the second healer appears several missions into the game, then I think by that point the player would've applied all the different shields, and a second healer would come in very handy, giving the rise in the difficulty curve I suspect one healer may not be enough to win all battles. It would be nice to have one, methinks.

Those ideas have been brought up before, and they're highly appealing, but I think this is more applicable to much larger battlefields (plus requires some significant tinkering with the battle-engine). I wouldn't mind seeing this tactical battlefield to be expanded to, say, 4 times the size, and have more enemy units moving around, a side-scrolling feature, and have several enemy units (but I am not sure if the current AI would handle that well). But I certainly think that maybe for a future project such an expansion would be really intersting to see through: a combination of TSoG unique teammates (the leaders of several units), combined with the numerous faceless soldiers of different classes- interesting for one huge battle. Definitely appealing. (The downside, of course, would be the length of time each battle would take, and the need to have a bit more variety in battle, since the bigger the force, the less importance the tactical element will have.)
