TRPG2 / Re: Teammates
« on: March 19, 2010, 06:15:20 PM »
Many seem also very keen on Dorgon, and he can be pretty useful on the battlefield, that Laser Blast is pretty impressive and covers for lack of mobility.
I agree, just general lack of Shadowlings make TSoG quite different from TRPG2, and I certainly would like to see a bit more of those beings in TSoG.

TSoG Wish List / Re: New attacks for teammates
« on: March 19, 2010, 06:04:46 PM »
And what think you of a poison-based attack? Say it's a variation on his standard attack, just enhanced with Desert Scorpion poison: methinks that as an assassin, that would be quite logical to use. Plus, it's still a one-enemy-hit attack, and uses the same MO, so it should fit in with the units ability. And it can come in highly useful against strength-based units, to such an extent as to change the outcome of a battle. Something like 3-4 PsP for use as well (skillfull application of poison onto the blade mid-battle, with the Gift used to guide the knife along the fastest and deadliest path to the target).

TSoG Wish List / New attack icons
« on: March 19, 2010, 06:00:02 PM »
I was wondering, folks, just how many of you like the new icons, and how many of you prefer the old attack icons?
It's just that I personally find the new icons very unappealing, and all looking rather similar (like the Mega Shield one looks like something I'd expect a Light Blast to look like).
The only two icons I actually like from the new set are the Big Shield and Solid State Shield ones.

I don't know, but it definitely would be interesting to see how the old attack icons look like with the new GUI, 'cause right now they're just too similar-looking and, well, just the way they are collated together looks, to me, unattractive.

TSoG / Re: Who is your favourite teammate?
« on: March 19, 2010, 05:56:13 PM »
You can answer both, really.
I initially thought of purely from battle-usefulness point of view, but I think hearing what people say about teammate characters is also interesting. So, why not combine the two?

TSoG Bugs / Re: Telepath RPG: Servants of God buglist

-not sure if this is a bug per se, but in the in-game "characters" menu, the Hero's name is written in that barely legible small font, whilst all the other teammates have their names written in much larger letter size

TSoG / Who is your favourite teammate?
« on: March 19, 2010, 05:03:59 PM »
To go along with a similar thread on the old forums (where things were pretty evenly split) and to compliment a similar thread in TRPG2, tell us here who your favourite teammate in TSoG is, and why?
(Granted, the game isn't finished yet, but do share what your initial impressions are!)

TPA2 / What are your favourite teammate combinations?
« on: March 19, 2010, 05:02:16 PM »
TPA2 is quite versatile in allowing you to choose which teammate combinations to play the game through with. I have, so far, managed to complete the game with several very different team make-ups, and each has its ups-and-downs, but allows to place accent on completely different battles and keep the game relatively fresh.

Thus, what do you usually go for?
I have tried the lucrative combination of going for  4 Psy Fighters with different elemental affinities, backed up by a spirit, a healer, a Shadowling and a Spriggat, if memory serves me right. Pretty good and mobil combination, though initially it'a bit hard to keep the Psy Fighters alive and well, not until they get Feedback, at least. Then things go much better, with the non-humans providing the estra mobility which the main force might lack.

Then I've tried the all-different combination, omitting the Swordsman from initial make-up, and not trading in any of the teammates for more powerful classes, which are unlocked later on in the game. This allows to tackle more or less any map with different teammates being the pinnacles of attack.

Finally, there was the all-Spriggat and all-Shadowling, plus Hero and Healer team, which was very mobile indeed. The only problems were to create it in the first place (the Shadowlings and Spriggats aren't available straight away), and then it was not as advantageous when the team was pitted against Shadowlings or Spriggats, as they had elemental resistances in place.

There was an experiment with an all non-Psy team, but it wasn't too good, as none of the units were too mobile, none could fly, and they were pretty bad against spirit enemies (plus, some maps couldn't be finished with them: like ones where there was a unit with Physical resistance).

TRPG2 / Re: Teammates
« on: March 19, 2010, 04:11:31 PM »
Well, Frosty, back on the old forums there was a general consensus that Anya is an inferior Healer to Festus, and a lot of the players used only one Healer, so Anya wasn't that often used as a key teammate.

Seems like Shadowboxer is quite popular overall.

What's also nice to see is that each teammate got at least one vote.

TRPG2 / Re: I've found a bug
« on: March 19, 2010, 04:08:08 PM »
See the walkthroughs for getting off the island in the TRPG2 walkthrough section: there is a map of how to navigate the Lake.

Welcome to the forums, read the rules, use proper grammar and punctuation, play the games and enjoy your stay!

See twitter, Zackirus.
I am not sure if that attack is already in-game: the twitter update is unclear on that.

TSoG Wish List / Re: More Baz Dialogue
« on: March 19, 2010, 04:05:54 PM »
Well, Malis was added in partly for comic relief, so I'd expect any conversation with her to be humorous.
Yet Baz is in another room, chances are, he'll only have dialogue with the Hero, and not the rest of the team. Still, extra dialogue will be interesting to hear (I suspect when Craig gets more time, as Zackirus rightly put, we'll see more of Baz in terms of dialogue).

TSoG Wish List / Re: TsoG General Improvements Thread
« on: March 19, 2010, 04:03:59 PM »
I find that to be quite low on the priority list: if anything else can be done, such as GUI tweaking, I'd rather see that added in.

TSoG / Re: Rajav and La'man
« on: March 19, 2010, 04:02:20 PM »
Well, given how Craig introduced spedifically extra attacks to those two classes in TPA2, and quite clearly hinted at both, there is a high chance the unknown teammates will be of those classes and will have those names.

TSoG / Re: The Nameless One
« on: March 19, 2010, 04:01:12 PM »
That is unlikely, from all the references it seems that the Nameless One fought in the war which took place during TRPG2, not earlier (especially as he is quite old, and I doubt he could've participated much in any earlier conflicts, as several decades passed before TSoG took place).
A lot seems to indicate at David: inability to save parents, good scanning (or, rather, anti-scanning) abilities, his knowledge of how to teach different elemental attacks, him being in TRPG2.
