TPA2 / Re: TPA2 Hero class preferences
March 17, 2010, 01:25:28 PM
True, but then the Psy Fighter only needs one category to invest the gold in: Psy Power. And the orbs will boost PsP anyway. Whilst for other classes you also have to spend gold boosting the Strength stat, along with the Psy Power stat for any of the special attacks (this especially applies to the Stab attacks by the Assassin).

I guess there is nothing that would contradict a suggestion that a human government is controlling the northeast territory. I guess it's also not very densly populated.

Sound logic there, and I guess that is more likely. Still, like the UN, the Psy Academy may form a conventional army from the surrounding human settlements to be headed by its staff and which can be used for peacekeeping purposes. Methinks that way the Psy Academy would be much more easily tolerated and not feared by neighbouring human settlements.

I don't think that's necessary: the bug set, if the Void Bug gets included, will be pretty much complete. Besides, this moth does exactly the same job as the Shadow Bug, so why add it?

TSoG Wish List / Re: More about Gelf!

I can assure you that they're quite capable of recognizing each other and differentiating between each other, as there are not that many of them around.

Still, have you folks got any more questions about Gelf culture, rather than just noting the fact that they are all called Gelf?

I don't think in this instance Crossbow 2 is applicable: I very much doubt that the operator of the glider will have time to adjust the crossbow range!

Hence, this seems more likely:
Health: 28
Speed: 3 (flying)
Attack: Crosbow (Range 2, Attack 14)
Resistance: Light

TSoG Wish List / Re: More Baz Dialogue

I agree to both of the propositions above: it would be highly entertaining to find out what extactly Baz did to offend the Cult and to also get a direct link to TPA2.

Dubai isn't a city-state, Presentiment, unlike Vatican City or Monaco, it isn't considered to be a country.

We don't actually have any information at all about who occupies the area around Lake Alto: there is certainly human presence, as evidenced by Pirate Pete, but then there were Spirggat v Shadowling battles going in around Lake Alto area, so I'd suspect it falls more under the Shadowlands territory, than human territory.

If I were to guess where human nations are located, I'd go for the entire Ashwan derest (doubt there will be many caves in which the Shadowlings could reside), and possibly the area just to the north of the Great Forest, where the Mechanics operate (for some reason I associate that stretch of land, up to the southern borders of Lake Alto, to be quite dangerous territory, not owned by anyone, with lots of human travellers, low-lives, highway men, and mercenaries lurking about- a bit like an area around a port). Plus, the area around the Psy Academy.

I'd think that neither humans nor Shadowlings control the Great Forest, it's more of an area inhabited by Gelfs.

Given that the Psy Academy is a military institution, large enough to be considered when major wars erupt, it's possible that they have enough people to have a proper Psy-oriented army, which might be used for peace-keeping around the region, a bit like UN forces. And they could draw on Psys from local surroundings to boost their rank in times of crisis. Then Guy could be the General of that army.

I more or less agree about the Old Spriggatia, though I'd think the border would've run much more to the north of Somnus, since Somnus was the capital of Shadowling-based nation. Other than that, I think having Deeper Downs and territory to the north-west of Lake Alto as its borders seems like a reasonable guess.

This would make a great poll.
Good point, forgot to add it.

I find that the extra perks of using a Swordsman and a Bowman as Heroes don't really pay off: the special stats and the use of orbs seem to enhance the Psy Fighter and the Assassin to a much greater effect.

TSoG / Re: Total Number of Enemies Killed
March 16, 2010, 07:58:23 PM
I realize that, worry not. I am just commenting on what people wrote in general.

Ertxiem: that certainly would interweave quite nicely with the differn action options for the Hero which currently don't affect gameplay, but, it seems, will later on in the game. I think that kills-by-the-Hero may be a good stat to add into the mix. (e.g. reluctant versus maniac killer. Though it is impossible to judge the attitude by numbers only. One may kill one person in delight, or kill many, but with deep reluctance.)

TRPG2 / Re: Suggestions for missing TRPG2 endings
March 16, 2010, 07:57:28 PM
Neat touch there, Dayn, but the TRPG2 endings concerned main characters, whilst Flavin was very much a background character. Still, I like the ideas on Flavin's futures!

Certainly, though I doubt the last one will be making an appearance anytime soon! :P
But you got the gist of it. ;)

To a degree yes, they can definitely distingush each other and don't simply call each other Gelf. I just didn't want to give away the specifics of how they do it, but you're very close to it.
