New portraits!

When the first downloadable demo hits, you can expect some really nice renditions of the various characters based on Lethal Laurie’s designs. Here’s a sneak peek:

    Wow… so lifelike.

Sorry for posting about my stuff here. This is your page.

    Looks awesome, can’t wait.

  • Duskling

Amazing… I’m very eager to try it out.

  • Nanigo

    Want the new demo *o*

  • Jomo

Man they are really looking awesome. This game is going to definitely be one of the best games I have ever played.

  • Zhampir

I for one am very excited.^^

  • Dorgon 5000

Honestly, I think those new portraits look terrable. I mean, all characters look like drunks. And the fact that they look more realistig is not so important for a TRPG game.

  • Duskling

What will happen to previous saved games made before the downloadable demo? Will they be transferred or will we have to start all over?

  • Fireblasto

Start over. It will be a separate program to the browser. Most likely.

Yes, but it could still store and retrieve info from the same place… I think.

  • Rainen

What happened to Lethal Laurie anyway? Did she just vanish or does she have a reason for not being around anymore? Also the portraits look great but Griffin looks like hes on sedatives.

“Yes, but it could still store and retrieve info from the same place… I think.”
Correct, heres a quote from Craig explaining how to do just that:
“Find your saved game files on your hard drive, copy them, and then paste them into the new folder Flash will create when you play the downloadable demo. Here is how you do it, step by step:

Step 1: Find your saved games

Games are all saved as .sol files.

To find your files in Windows, do the following:

Start a search of your hard drive
Turn on the “find hidden files” option (if you have Vista, it will call this “include non-indexed, hidden, and system files”)
Search for TelepathRPG3*.sol (just like I’ve written it there)
You should find the old saved game files; keep their folder open until we’re done with Step 3

    Quote from: Ertxiem
in Ubuntu (a Linux distribution) the save game is located on:
    user home folder/.macromedia/Flash_Player/#SharedObjects/[letters and numbers]/www.sinisterdesign.net/TRPG3.swf
I assume that, since Mac is Unix, the location is similar to the above one.

Step 2: Start a new game and save it

Run the new TSoG downloadable demo
Start a new game and save it. We’ll call this the new saved game. (It doesn’t matter where you save–you’re only doing this so Flash will create a new folder for downloadable demo saved games)

Step 3: Bring over your old saves

Using the same technique you used in Step 1 above, find the folder containing the new saved game’s .sol file–that’s the new directory for your game’s save files
Copy the old saved game files you want to use and paste them into the new folder

  • calaveras

    Arman is damn sexy.

  • O’Connell

Wow, um. Those ones are completely better than your previous portraits; the two do not even compare. Did you draw them yourself?

  • Craig Stern

Nope–those are the work of an artist by the name of Jesse MacCabe. :)

  • O’Connell

“Honestly, I think those new portraits look terrable. I mean, all characters look like drunks. And the fact that they look more realistig is not so important for a TRPG game.”

Honestly, I have noticed you sayin a lot to this effect. Why do you even play if all you do is complain about progress? :\

  • Oliver

this is cool. but griffin does look a little strange

  • bacman136

i think they look cool. but arman looks like he has demonic eyes. O_O and griffins beard looks too fuzzy. i thought the looked perfect (cept arman looked kind of unforgiving) before clicked on it and got closer.

  • bacman136

i meant to say “i thought ‘they’ looked”.
and also, its not that important, but in the picture dude spelled ‘names’ wrong.

  • O’Connell

That just means that Griffin has a fuzzy beard… :\
