Title: New active members?
Post by: Duskling on June 17, 2010, 01:10:55 AM
Anyone noticed that we aren't getting anyone new that participates in the forums much?

Yap, but there is surely some people who read forums, though they don´t reply because they won´t bother to do that, they don´t have much to say or they don´t have proper language skill...

And there are always a couple of quests at forums, i believe that some of them visit here regularly.

So then, what's the point of making an account on these forums if you're going to do what you did as a Guest?

what about me, I am both new, and posting in the forums.

Duskling is a big bad meanie.  Don't let the evil Duskie Poo hurt your feelings namelesskitty.

No, I'm just kidding.  He wrote that before you joined- check the date on canned vegetables- er, I mean posts- before you add your own thoughts about why someone ignored you.

Actually I just replied because I felt like it. Thanks for reminding me though.

PMs about what? If you don't post at all, you won't be known enough to get any PMs. Unless you mean sending PMs?

That's seasonal, Duskling. Folks come and go, some remain for longer, some not. But generally there have been around 3-10 active users who have been constructively contributing to the forums discussion at any given time. It's not something one needs to worry about too much, methinks.

Those who do register, but lurk, may always come out of hiding one day- after all, not all have desire to participate- many like to simply observe, or others are just afraid of not being taken to. (Here is a great example of lurker turned active- Ertxiem was with us since 07, I believe, but only started posting actively in 09 or very late 08, if memory serves me right.)

I am generally an active poster, although, as I have previously stated, I occasionally deplete my 'social capacity', so you don't hear from me for a while. Then I come back, and the cycle repeats itself.

@.:Light-God:. We all used to.  Even KZ, believe it or not...

We have about 9.25 people online every day, and we have around one person joining every day.

But rarely do they post, and even more rarely frequently.  (That sounds weird...)

It does sound weird. Still, I think that 9.25 posts sounds weirder. I can understand that it's an average, but it really should be rounded.

All relative, isn't it? To me, most of you are still so very new... :P

But yeah, this does remind me about my first post, and the first walkthrough I posted, ah the good old times...

I hope you don't consider ME as new. I may not be the oldest forum goer, but I have been around a while now, you know.

I think new counts as people i saw join :D
but i've noticed that the forums are more popular now, maybe its just because some people have more time in the summer

Sounds like we have quarter of a person posting.

we all do, considering that you're a good poster.

for the record I was on the old forums but didn't join theese until recently, you probably don't remember me because I never posted.

I'm not sure. The past is yesterday, LEAVE IT BE!!
Title: Re: New active members?
Post by: The Holy namelesskitty on August 01, 2010, 08:53:52 AM
what does that mean?
Title: Re: New active members?
Post by: Cypher on August 01, 2010, 10:51:37 AM
It means forget the past, and look to the future.
"My interest is in the future, because I'm going to spend the rest of my life there."

well, sometimes I don't understand things so I just ask, it was an honest question and always will be when I ask that.

Title: Re: New active members?

Are you new? Are you active on the forums? If the answer to both of these is yes then yes.

You seem so. I still feel like a new active user. You don't hear that much from a black cape.
Title: Re: New active members?
Post by: Steelfist on December 26, 2010, 06:52:55 PM
Well, I still consider you as New-ish. You aren't really new, but you aren't even approaching old timer. In addition, recommend that you return your username to Namelesskitty; Face it, Holy War is dead, and has been for ages.
Title: Re: New active members?
Post by: Duskling on December 26, 2010, 07:29:00 PM
Indeed, also, it may offend some people with certain (if not all) religions since now the "Holy" is in your username without a valid reason.

It IS a bit arrogant... am I still new-ish?
Title: Re: New active members?

I've already asked Kitty about it. He claimed that "He and his fellow atheists had no problem about it and he wouldn't change it."
Quote from: The Holy namelesskitty on December 24, 2010, 07:56:49 PM
The holy is because I am divine prophet of Craiginism. All the other aethiests including myself have no problem with it. So you could ask, but I won't change it.
And I don't think I'm a newb really. I was on the old forums for a little while.

Were you? I don't remember you

Duckling ; You certainly aren't new, though you aren't an old timer either. Not even I'm actually an old-timer, though I doubt I'm far off.

I was present but I only posted about 40 times that counted. I was mostly in the forum games. Try looking in the member list, if you can get to it. Or look HERE (http://sinisterdesign.freepowerboards.com/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=16242).

I know, though it's been a long time since his last post! Good to see he's remembered, though.

Ah, makes you nostalgic, doesn't it? I mean, I like everyone here (Even Im2smart4U  ;) ), but it's not the same, really.

i still remember when TRPG2 stirred up a lot of excitement.  I mean to go from a 1v1 dual setting to pitting army vs army was something that just shook the world.  As far as other old timers go I'm going to have to say I miss Ender the most.  Whenever I see an Ender on the interwebs I always ask him if he knows about Sinister Design lol :P... To bad none have said yes...  remember the TTC?  I just found the banner for that lol :P

Im rather old member at these new forums, i guess. Though I´m just mostly lurking in the shadows and spying on you(a bit scary, isn´t it?). I would like to be more active because this really is a nice community and Telepath is honestly one of the best flash games i have played. I would also get some extra exercise in writing english. : 3
