Malis mentions Set being half shadowling. I was wondering if all these "races" which I though we actually separate species entirely are indeed "races" and could breed and produce fertile offspring. If so, that would produce some interesting results and might help explain how the human race obtained telepathic powers because in the other races all of them have telepathy (excluding, strangly, Niven).
I don't think the "Race" is the race you are thinking of. I think the Races are just type of sentient creatures. No, I don't think the races of telepath can breed with one another for obvious reasons.
A half-Human Shadowling, I wonder how that would actually happen (You know know what I mean)
How do shadowlings mate after all? perhaps the breeding twixt a shadowling and human is more based on the shadowling's method of breeding than the humans?
I also think that there is no interbreeding per se: the physiologies of the creatures involved seem very different indeed. The closest I can think of to being a "workable" solution are Gelfs and humans, but I really don't want to go in that direction!

Wow this is a strange post.
You know now one will ever know how they breed if the creator (Craig Stern) never makes it up.

I believe she just misunderstood that he was 100% human since he was... umm... round. As for the breeding stuff, your guess is as good as mine, but I wouldn't bother guessing.
Wow. This is a really awkward topic...
Maybe the Shadowling way of breeding involves mental contact?
And KZ: Thank you for that lovely mental image.

Niven uses Psy power to bend his knife for Trick Shot
Also, because shadowlings can only communicate though telepathy, they are all Psys
Well, spriggats are like really buff humans with wings... so I was thinking that maybe spriggats are a human/shadowling mix. Really I'm just trying to find a way to disconnect the gift with the force. The gift seems more like the powers gained by everybody in Heroes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heroes_%28TV_series%29) Perhaps there is no breeding between the species, but a crazy scientific experiment that extracted the gift from the Shadowlings and Spriggats and gave it to the humans?

That makes absolutely no sense
spiggurats look more like gargoyles to me

I agree, but neither does your post.
I don't think Spriggats and Shadowlings are related, based on their huge differences in appearance. Spriggats are humanoids with wings, so it's possible they could be related.

yeah, it kinda does.... seeing as i said his post makes no sense, in clear, proper english....
What I meant (and somewhat poorly stated) was that you didn't give any argument for it not making sense. And your lack of punctution confused me.
WARNING! GROSS CONTENT AHEAD.
Well, I think that a male would put his ***** in the shadowlings smoke, since they can be solid because they can be killed by swords. And the shadowling would just pop out a puffball of shadow. Also, male shadowling would just go inside the female and shadow up the womb. That is all.
please put that stuff in a spolier
Maybe(and this is JUST a theory) if the focus enough shadow energy in one location the can create a shadowling child.
maybe shadowlings come from a "pool" of shadow, and when one shadowling dies its essence is transferred back to the pool where a new shadowling is born, and a human found and fell into the pool as a new shadowling was being formed and mutated into a spriggat. (Btw, I think Craig is trying to keep this an E rated game... so try to keep this an E rated website guys.)
Maybe Shadowlings use some kind of magic to create such a strong darkness that it creates a being, a Shadowling.
I like Zhampir's idea the best. It's actually kind of plausible and I like the idea of the creation of a spriggat.
Huh, Zhampir's idea is pretty likely... and interesting... Maybe, at first, that pool of shadow was Nelis, and when she died, she just turned into a puddel of shadows, from which Shadowlings kept coming from. Or, at first, there was a pool of shadow, and the human-Spriggat thing happened, but the pool became so big and powerful, that it became Nelis, then she claimed to be a deity.
