Baz seems like he likes talking about himself, so I think he should do it more.
Maybe he can talk about his businesses or about his relative Shiraz Al'jaj. We are learning alot about the Hero's teammates, but we know almost nothing about Baz Al'jaj.
i at least want to know what he did to offend the cult
I agree to both of the propositions above: it would be highly entertaining to find out what extactly Baz did to offend the Cult and to also get a direct link to TPA2.
This is also a simple task, because there isn't any extra characters, extra locations, or extra art.
Craig has probably already thouht of this and he is going to put it into the game sometime
Malis enjoys talking about herself as well. Perhaps we'll walk in on them having a lengthy conversation. I'd imagine the situation would be humorous.
Well, Malis was added in partly for comic relief, so I'd expect any conversation with her to be humorous.
Yet Baz is in another room, chances are, he'll only have dialogue with the Hero, and not the rest of the team. Still, extra dialogue will be interesting to hear (I suspect when Craig gets more time, as Zackirus rightly put, we'll see more of Baz in terms of dialogue).
Maybe you could buy food for him in return for hints?
He isn't exactly starved.
He doesn't exactly eat a small amount of food either.
Hints on what? He doesn't know how to lead a rebellion: he is simply a rich man, probably a good businessman and likes his comforts. I am pretty sure that he is being well supplied by the Resistance with things like food and that it isn't used as a means of leverage against them (after all, he is giving them a place to use for HQ).
I think we will rather do quests that could require you to talk to merchants (assuming that he is a mercahnt), or I think his dioluage with open up and he will talk about himself and maybe what he did to offend the Cult
I wasn't asking for a quest; just dialogue.

It was just a suggestion, a besides who doesn't love side quests
I love em. ^^ anything that increases characterization, the back ground story, and play time is fine by my books (as long as it's done well, of course)
maybe he went out to find help about the ghosts in his cellar and because he knew they were there he was accused of having the gift
torugo, that doesn't make sense, as he alredy asked Duvalier for help and believes that Duvalier sorted the problem out.
There is room aplenty for side-quests, but I also think it should be well balanced by simply, non-quest-starting NPC dialogue. I think Baz fits better into the latter category. Personally, I'd be happy to see only extra dialogue and no side quests for him.
I think the dialogue between the Main and Baz would be similar to some of the dialogue between the Main and Malice. I can imagine Baz talking about a bunch of probably fake things he had supposedly done in his life.
You meantersay, Pip, that he would likely embellish stories of himself? That's possible, but I think Baz likely has a more rich story. Such as how he accumulated his vast wealth (after all, he is the sole benefactor of the entire campaign.) He seems proud of his wealth, so he likely worked for it in his youth, instead of being born into it.
I wasn't trying to that Baz didn't work hard, but even when bragging about legitimate achievements, people still tend to over exaggerate.
Pip?
The Pip came from me saying benefactor, then I thought of Great Expectations, as Baz has these great expectations of your small band of fighters. The boy in Great Expectations was nick-named Pip by (his uncle?) Who would consistently say "I meantersay Pip,..."
I do think that it will be in Baz's character to exaggerate his own achievements, but at the same time deliver certain facts in a rather specific fashion- like the storage shed being just that to him, yet for Duvalier and co it's a huge mansion. I think for Baz a lot of things will be seen from a very different perspective, that of a very rich man, so I think it would be nice to expand on it.
Maybe we can find out more about where Baz got his money from.
Personally, I'm in favour of more dialogue, although a side quest would be interesting.
Perhaps he could hire you to protect a trade caravan. Probably not his, as I believe the cult seized his assets, but he could hire you to on behalf of a business associate who was having trouble with bandits.
