Hello Everyone. This is the newest RP on the forum: The Two Academies or TTA.
Back Story
[spoiler]
See this RP takes place 20 years after Shadow War. Now the first question is probably, which side won? Well both! See what happened was that as soon as the Hero killed Nelis, so much power was released it rewound time itself. It rewound to the time the Hero made his decision on whether to fight the Hero fought for or against the queen. However, the blast was so powerful it broke of the time line and created two separate realities. One time line, where the hero decided to remain loyal to the Shadowlings, while the other time line, is where the hero betrays the Shadowlings. Now you must also say that when the hero defeated Nelis the second time, it should have rewound time back to the choice, but here is the catch, the power released affected the other dimension instead of time. Now only time will tell what will happen to the two dimensions as the power released still lingers within both...
Side Note: Psy Academy was destroyed in the HL (Human's Lose or Dean Dead) dimension but 10 years after the war the Shadowlings rebuilt it and now they send the most powerful Psys in Cera Bella to it (no matter race) for training to become leaders of their armies. While in the SL (Shadowling's Lose or Nelis Dead) dimension Psy Academy is still accepting students (any race) into their halls for training of Psy abilities.
Here is something to help people understand if they don't: http://postimage.org/image/1xb13eah0/

Character Story
[spoiler]
Now with creating the character in this RP it is a little different. See you do create a normal character but that character will exist in both dimensions. Now here is the catch and where to have some fun with this, your character can (it doesn't have to) act differently because of the influence of Shadowlings or not, basically it is like creating two characters. You can control them separately and choice to alienate one of the other
Now rules with the characters are no god moulding or powers. Your powers are set to being in your cape level: Red, Blue, and Black. However, no player is allowed to be a teacher or White Cape because of the amount of power they have and it is unfair to lower Capes. Also unless your character finds out about the other dimension, YOUR CHARACTER HAS NO INIDICATION THAT THE OTHER DIMENISION EXTISTS (I want to stress that point). Also limited character controls, don't do any to radical, and try to be a nice person (to other players) meaning don't kill them randomly. Other than that have fun, explore Psy Academy, read books, interact with NPCs, learn abilities, drink beer and gamble, get a girlfriend/boyfriend, go on trips to the Deeper Downs and Somnus, and skip classes (if you dare!).

[spoiler]Shadowlings Lose:
Name: Frex
Race: Human
Class: Psy Fighter
Affinity: Fire
Skill: Higher than a Blue Cape, but not Black Cape.
Bio: Frex had a good life, for the most of it anyway, because the Shadow War had ended shortly before his sixteenth birthday, thus allowing him to hone his abilities at the Psy Academy in relative peace, making it much easier, but some front-end experience would've helped. He had a loving family which had supported him, and helped him in his studies. With their help, he surpassed the level of Blue Cape, but the Dean of the Academy had decided he was not yet fit to train as a Black Cape. Frex accepted the Dean's decision, but didn't feel he had much more to learn as a Blue Cape and was eager to ascend to the rank of Black Cape.
Equipment: His mind, and an old bow he uses to have fun or for practice.
Skills: Strong Pyro Blast, hardly developed Pyro Hail, and a moderate-leveled Mind Blast.
Humans Lose
Name: Frex
Race: Human
Class: Mercenary
Affinity: Cryo
Bio: Frex's life was miserable, for the most part, with the destruction of the Psy Academy a short time before his sixteenth birthday, he could only go to private, expensive, hidden Psy instructors. Though not much time was spent studying, but, if front-end experience helped, there was plenty of it, what with all the Shadowlings leaving no rock unturned looking for Psys. Shortly after the destruction of the Academy, Frex's family had been slaughtered by Shadowlings in a brutal and merciless fashion which had left them distracted enough to give Frex enough time to get away. With his family gone, Frex's emotions were fading as well, he had become hard, and realized the world for what it really was, a test, a test to see how well one can survive. Using the money he had been given in case his parents died and he was left on his own, Frex had found a private trainer by the name of Senz, who was proficient, and not too expensive. After many months of private tutoring, Frex had nearly perfected his Cryo Blast, his Mind Blast, and had just begun to show signs of being able to use Cryo Cross. After his training, he became a mercenary, and earned a living collecting gold for the destruction of Shadowling encampments, sentry posts, and sometimes some small fortresses. Even with his abilities, he still comes by and trains with Senz.
Equipment: His mind, a crossbow which he uses while sniping, and a dagger for close combat.
Skills: Strong Cryo Blast, strong Mind Blast, and barely developed Cryo Cross.

Race: Human
Class: Psy Fighter
Affinity: Cyro
Skill: Has the skill of about a blue cape
Bio: Bob was raised far away from the Psy academy, and only learned of its existence recently. His family was killed by a shadowling a few days after the first psy academy was destroyed. Bob managed to kill the shadowling with his mental powers and his father's knife. More shadowlings arrived, and considered killing him, but in the end decided to keep him alive due to his impressive abilities. As a result of his past experience, Bob is very distrustful, especially of shadowlings. However, he does realize that some are not as bad as others after hearing them debate on killing him. He spends most of his time in thought, analyzing his surroundings and making judgments about people. He doesn't make too many friends, but he is loyal to the ones he has. Bob misses his family very much, but suppresses the emotions to keep himself functional, and to not look weak to the shadowlings. He makes very few friends, if any, but is loyal to the people he considers friends, or respects.
Equipment: His mind, and a really sharp knife
Skills: Mind Blast, shadow resistance, dark shield, knife, stab. Working on shadow blast. Fairly stealthy, but not due to any psy abilities. Despite his limited ability, he is a capable fighter due to having really good survival instinct.

[spoiler]
Shadowlings Lose Dimension:
Name: Noxus
Race: Shadowling
Class: Psy Fighter of skill comparable to a senior blue cape, but not quite a black cape
Affinity: Dark
Bio: Noxus is a very active and energetic young Shadowling with a taste for combat. He had been in the Shadowling Army since about 15 years after death of Queen Nelis. Though he enjoyed his career as a soldier, the Shadowling Republic had not been actively engaged in any conflict (outside of itself, that is) since the end of the Shadow War. Sick of the lack of opportunity for rank advancement (having been only a first lieutenant for years) and generally bored with life, he decides to seek out the Psy Academy to improve his skill. After all, they were accepting applicants of all races now.
Equipment: military grade weaponry, a set of bouncy balls he can't seem to stop fiddling with.
Skills: Mind blast, shadow blast, basic comprehension of shadow port, spear
Human's Lose Dimension:
Name: Noxus
Race: Shadowling
Class: Tactician
Affinity: Dark
Bio: Noxus is, or rather, was, a very active and energetic young Shadowling with a taste for combat. But that person died a long time ago. After being drafted into the Shadowling Imperial Army at an exceptionally early age just 10 years after the destruction of the Psy Academy, he was exposed to the ruthlessness of war for several years. Because of this he'd already taken to a magenta shade. He found his skill set more in military strategy than actual combat and found himself rising the ranks very quickly, attaining the rank of major in only 10 years. His most recent order was to the Psy Academy. He had little idea why he was needed there, but it was probably something to do with protecting the dean.
Equipment: military grade weaponry, a stress ball which he uses all too often.
Skills: Mind blast, Shadow blast, Feedback

[spoiler]
Shadowlings Lose Dimension:
Name: Ben Archid
Race: Human
Class: Psy Assassin (Black Cape)
Affinity: Shadow
Bio: Ben is one of the few Psy to have an affinity for shadow. He learned about it during one of his many trips to the 'Barracks' in Somnus, one of his favorite locations. He earned his black cape last year, and is looking to graduate this year. He's starting this semester late because he felt he needed some real experience, and Darkling, a friend of his, managed to get him a job with the Helenites.
Equipment: Himself. His mind is his only weapon.
Skills: A weak mind blast and mind shield, powerful shadow blast, and moderatly-powered Feedback. He's been working on Shadowporting in his spare time.
Humans Lose Dimension:
Name: Ben Archid
Race: Human
Class: Psy Fighter (Black Cape)
Affinity: Light
Bio: Ben is one of the best students at the academy, and is already being considered for leadership positions. He's starting the semester late because he was sent to join General Darkeye on a few missions against the spriggats. He enjoys strategic thought of any kind, and cares little about which side he's on. Some consider him a Shadowling Loyalist, and a traitor to the humans, but he has no preference either way.
Equipment: He has too much pride to be caught using anything but his mind.
Skills: A weak mind blast, medium mind shield, powerful light blast, and medium Feedback. He's trying to develop a light bomb, but hasn't succeeded yet.

Awwww, can I still keep mine? I mean, there can be duplicates, right?
Yes. But only if you admit that having a bug body was a cool idea and that I am a Lord of Darkness. But what are the thoughts of mine?

Yes it is except you need to say how John is different in the SL dimension (I am assuming that he is an orphan [in the HL dimension] because the shadowlings killed his parents). Maybe in the SL dimension he is a open and likes to be in the spotlight and uses light based attacks (see where I am going)
Just a reminder to everyone:
Your character (unless a good reason) will act differently in the SL (Shadowling's Lose) dimension compared to the HL (Human's Lose) dimension. To make this easier on myself can people organize their Character Templates like this:

TTA Prologue: The New Students/Rebellious Beginnings
SL Dimension
All the students gathered in the Grand Hall (place where everyone eats) and ate the dinner. Everyone has arrived over the past few days and the Dean of Psy Academy wanted to address everyone with the standard beginning announcements. "Well, I hope everyone had a good summer but unfortunately we must all beginning another school year. This year I am happy to announce we have the most amount of students in 20 years." The crowd clapped and the Dean held up his hand to quiet them again. "I am also happy to announce that we have a new professor, everyone I would like you to meet Professor Gladier, he will be taking over the Black Cape: Pryo Teacher, as Professor Yather has taken a vacation for his health after the accident with the Pryo Hail last year (some of the black capes smiled). Now regarding with the rules, don't fight each other in the hallways, don't take to many drugs at once, the bar is not open to students AND teachers during the day, and black capes, please don't harm the red capes. Now one more thing of business before we go off to bed, we had generously offered a Tratenite named Zack Arcon a place as a transfer student at our school. Now I want everyone to treat him nicely and help him if he needs anything, we need to make a good impression if we want to increase ties with Traten. He is waiting outside of the halls now." The halls doors opened slowly and their stood a medium-height, platinum blond haired, blue eyed figure smiling with an arrogant smile. "Welcome Mr. Arcon, I hope you have a good time at Psy Academy. Do you have anything to say to everyone before we go off to bed?" "It's is hot in Cera Bella." Zack laughed as he pulled on his collar. "We everyone, with everything said and done, you can go off to bed." Zack slowly darted out from the doors and followed a map to his room. He quickly went inside, locked the door and collapsed on his bed, he didn't know what to think about Psy Academy but he was sure that it was going to be a interesting year.
OOC: You can take up your characters perspective of the opening ceremony or just go with it and start classes.
Legend: Purple- Shared; Blue-Humans Lose Dimension; Red-Shadowlings Lose Dimension
Shared Opener:
Zaron was late for class. It didn't help that it was his favorite. Entomology. Commonly called Bugs 101. Zaron arrived at the door to class just in time to hear a mental cry of pain from a barely hatched nymph.
Zaron rushed in and stopped. Professor Landers, who was commonly called Professor Loon, had just telekinetically lifted a heavy stone from the table, it's bottom trailing a sticky blue substance.
"... And that's how our ancestors used to observe living things." he was saying.
"Monster", gasped Zaron. Every head turned.
"Excuse me?", Landers said. "Did you just call me a monster?
"No. I called you a friendly pretty pony," snapped Zaron sarcastically.
Zaron struggled for breath as he felt himself lifted up and choked by a powerful telekinetic force.
"You listen to ME freak", said Landers in an angry cruel tone,"You listen to me, you learn my way, you will accept what I tell you as true, and YOU WILL NOT OBJECT!!!"
Zaron reacted. Looking to escape his cruel and delusional teacher, he instinctively threw a shadow blast and fell. Landers stood there shocked, half his torso missing, consumed by the corrosive masmia that had been released upon him. Just then, the Dean walked in. Landers was the first to react.
"This student just tried to kill me!", he shouted. "I want him gone. Worse than expelled. He thinks he knows everything about bugs and has no respect. I want him worse than expelled. I want him banned from ever entering the grounds of Psy Academy ever again", he shouted just before falling to the floor in pain. Them for the second time in several minutes, he felt himself lifted telekinetically and taken away...
Zaron nodded, dejected. He felt himself hit the ground as he was carelessly and roughly dropped to the ground. Then the Dean walked in.
"Everything going well in here, Landers?", asked he.
"Yes sir. Just a slight disciplinary issue, nothing more", Landers replied.
The Dean turned to leave just as Zaron shouted,"He just tried to choke me!"
Landers shot him a hateful glare as the Dean turned back around.
"Come again?", he asked.
"It's nothing", Landers interjected. "Just fooling around. No need to listen to him."
Zaron felt himself struggling for breath again as the Dean looked at him. "Is this true?", he asked.
Unable to breathe to speak, Zaron only nodded, knowing that anything else and Landers would kill him.
"Very well. Back to your studies", said the Dean as he left, Zaron still struggling for breath. He tried to groan as the world began to fade to black but found himself unable. Then, the darkness took hold and his vision faded to black...
John was having a nightmare. He was watching the events on the ground from above. He saw his parents cradling a child in their arms. He saw the desperate looks on their faces as they pleaded with the Shadowlings. He saw the Shadowling raise his hands... John woke up with a cry.
There he was, in his dorm room. Suddenly, he heard feet rushing down the hallway. His door opened, and lamplight filled the room. It was Ben.
"Is everything alright?" he asked.
"Yes, it was just a bad dream." John mumbled.
"Oh." Ben said softly. "Your parents again?"
"Yes." John admitted.
Ben went to John's bedside and sat down. "That hasn't happened for a while." He noted.
"I know... I'm probably just stressed about tomorrow's exam. Don't worry about it."
Ben smiled. "Oh, I wouldn't worry about the exam. You're going to pass with flying colors, I'm sure of it."
John smiled back. "You really think so?"
"I know so. Go back to sleep. I'm sure you'll feel better in the morning." Ben got up to leave. At the door, he turned back. "John?"
"Yea, Ben?"
"Your parents would have been proud to see you come this far."
"...Thanks Ben. Good night."
"Good night, Mr. soon-to-be black cape."
As the door closed, John felt happy and calm. Ben always made him feel better when he was sad. John was glad he had Ben to talk to. As his eyes began to droop, he said, "You hear that, Mom and Dad? I'm going to be a black cape. I hope you're proud of me...I hope you're proud..." And he drifted off into a restful sleep.
There he was, in his dark, dank room. He got off of the ragged mat that he considered to be his bed and fixed himself a glass of water, first making sure there was snoring coming from Rashnev's bedroom. That old miser would go ballistic if he realized I was drinking more that my daily allowance, John thought. After quenching his thirst, John lay down to think. It's been a long time since I've had that nightmare, he thought. I wonder what it could mean. He wished he had someone to discuss it with. As it were, all he had was Rashnev, and he would probably just laugh and call him weak for holding on to the memory. Yeah, like I could simply forget about the most traumatizing event in my life, John thought. He had tried to put it out of his mind before, he really had. But it always somehow came back, whether it was seeing something that reminded him of his parents, or a nightmare like the one he had just had. The nightmares themselves tended to come after an assassination job, or when he was stressed. But there hadn't been any major jobs for the last year, and there was nothing to be stressed about. And yet... for the past few days, he had felt apprehensive. He felt like there was something important about to happen, something monumental, but he had no idea what it was. Oh well, maybe the answer will come in the morning, John thought. But he wasn't sure of that at all, and he kept wondering what the future held as he tossed and turned and drifted off into a fitful sleep...
Can someone tell me how to deal with the jumpy reply box? ???
OOC: In the HL dimension, Shadowlings control Psy Academy so if you misbehave, you might not like the things they do to you. Also the dean of the HL dimension is a Shadowling.
I suggest using the quick reply box. It doesn't jump. Either that or type everything out in another program. I use my notepad when I'm on my iPod. And Notepad on my main computer. Then all you need to do is copy and paste.

Why would the shadowlings take over the Academy? The Queen just throws wars for the fun of it, right?
OOC: Because she needs people to lead her armies. What better way to train and habour all the Psys in Cera Bella then to put them into an academy where they can be watched over closely by the shadowlings.
IC:
Zack hurried off to his first class: Affinity 101. He didn't know which affinity he wanted to be because they all; had their pros and cons. He passed by several of these shadowing creatures. He was creeped out by them. Their was something weird about this school, it was like the kids were almost afraid of the shadowlings. He also noticed that the kids sort of stared at him, and he had even even one her take notes what what he said and did at breakfast. It was like the world was watching him, and he loved it!
OOC: The shadowlings are watching Zack to learn of the Traten ways, the queen has eyes on Traten after all of Cera Bella...

For those of you that still think that Gelf is a race: Gelf (http://telepath.wikia.com/wiki/Gelf) is a person, while Folk-of-the-Woods (http://telepath.wikia.com/wiki/Folk-of-the-Woods) are a race.
thank you, I am new to that concept.

Make her nice and open in the HL dimension. The idea is just fine, please join the story whenever you want.
John listened to the dean with increasing excitement. He had heard rumors that there was going to be a boarding student coming from Traten. Most of the students, including John, had never met a Tratenite before, and everyone was excited. They fidgeted around while the dean made the mundane anouncements. Finally, the dean cleared his throat and said, "Now one more thing of business before we go off to bed. We have generously offered a Tratenite named Zack Arcon a place as a transfer student at our school. Now I want everyone to treat him nicely and help him if he needs anything, we need to make a good impression if we want to increase ties with Traten. He is waiting outside of the halls now." The hall doors opened slowly, and there stood a medium-height, platinum blond haired, blue eyed figure smiling with an arrogant smile. The dean said, "Welcome Mr. Arcon, I hope you have a good time at Psy Academy. Do you have anything to say to everyone before we go off to bed?"
Zack laughed and stated, "It is hot in Cera Bella."
"Well everyone, with everything said and done, you can go off to bed."
John wasn't sure if he liked Zack or not. Well, I guess I'll just have to wait and see, he thought. He wouldn't have to wait long. Everyone was talking about Zack and staring at him as he passed. John smiled inwardly. This is going to be an interesting year...
Phew. Finally. HL coming soon!
Zack was sitting down in the Grand Hall eating, to what appeared to him as some sort of vegetable, he dropped his fork and wiped a bit of sweat off of his forehead. He wasn't kidding when he said it was hot, and today when he passed by the Pryotentics class practicing, he could really feel the heat. He suddenly got up and walked out of dinner. Many people's eyes followed him as he went but he was too hot to take notice. He followed down the corridors aimlessly until he found a stair case leading down-ward into a basement of some sort. He followed them down until he meet and cool stone floor. He quickly collapsed onto his knees and put his face against the floor. He lay there for around 5 minutes before he got back up and went to explore the area. It has a cell of some sort but nobody was to be found. He quickly turned a corner and to his surprise a giant bug was lying on the floor. He jumped back but noticed it was un-conscious. He went closer to it and stuck his hand to touch the beast. Not the best idea, but he was interested. Its skin was scaly, almost boney, and suddenly the creature began to stir...
Zack was sitting in the Grand Hall drinking some sort of cool liquid, some girl has offered it to him, and he didn't want to rude so he took it, it was really good and it made him cool. Suddenly, two Shadowlings came bursting into the hall and held what appeared to be a large, brown haired boy in their hands. He was yelling, "I want to be free to make my own choices, let me go!". Zack turned away and tried to not pay attention but it was distracting him. The shadowlings stormed him and suddenly the boy stopped yelling. He almost instantly sat down on the floor. "Let this be a warning to you all" One the Shadowlings voices echoed in their head. Zack clutched his heart and began to breath rapidly he didn't know what was going on. He leaned over to the black-cape beside him and asked, "what was that all about?". The black cape looked down and him and whispered, "I have no idea what you are talking about". After dinner has finished, Zack exited the hall like everyone else, but was soon grabbed by a strong arm over his mouth and pulled into a empty classroom...
Zaron began to stir, much to the distress of whomever it was touching him. He sent out a mental probe and recoiled. There was a student in his cellar! He prepared to strike with a secret shadow trick he'd been working on when he checked again. The student was merely curious. How to handle this? "Ugh, what do you want classmate?", he sent telepathically knowing all too well that one of the dreaded teachers might hear it...

Shadowlings lose:
Name: Bob
Race: Human
Class: Psy Fighter
Affinity: Cyro
Skill: Has the skill of about a blue cape
Bio: Bob was raised far away from the Psy academy, and only learned of its existence recently. His family decided it would be best to send him to the academy where he could learn to control his abilities better, and be around other psys (there were some incidences of kids being knocked unconscious by accident), even though he is a tad bit old to start at the academy. Bob misses his family, and prefers to keep to himself for the most part. He doesn't make too many friends, but he is loyal to the ones he has. Once he gets to know someone, he can be very friendly.
Equipment: His mind, and a knife that he doesn't really use. From his father, sentimental value.
Skills: Mind Blast, and cold resistance
Humans lose:
Name: Bob
Race: Human
Class: Psy Assassin
Affinity: Dark
Skill: In addition to being able to use mental attacks, Bob can use a knife very well. Blue cape in the academy.
Bio: Bob was raised far away from the Psy academy and Somnus, and only learned of its existence recently, in quite a dramatic fashion.
I'll join in fairly soon.
Hmm, Bob seems almost the same as John, right down to their affinity in both dimensions. Maybe they'll be friends.
Sorry, I didn't notice. As for friends... In the HL universe, I wouldn't trust you. In the SL universe, maybe.
HL
Bob lingered in the Grand Hall, like normal. He cast a glance at the brown haired kid still sitting on the floor. The shadowlings had really messed up his mind. Part of him wanted to help, but he knew there was nothing he could do. He started to leave, just in time to see new kid leaving with everyone else. He evidently had no clue about how things went here. Might as teach him now. Bob silently stole over to where he was, put his hand over his mouth, and dragged him into a room. He could feel his fear, his surprise. He quickly scanned his mind. His name was Zack. "Listen up, Zack. You're new here, and evidently you don't know how things work around here. Don't cross the shadowlings. Don't make them angry, do what they tell you, and don't question them unless you want to end up like the kid in there. You have to look strong. You represent your home now. If you look weak, the queen will think your land will be an easy picking, and you'll end up without a family, without a home. You shouldn't have come here, but now, you'd better get used to this fast. Got it? Good. I'll be watching you. Wait a few seconds before leaving" Bob released the surprised Zack and walked silently out the door. "Do you really think anything he does will stop the Queen from invading?" he asked himself. He doubted it, but he couldn't sit back and do nothing.
Just as a little side note, the maps aren't loading for me, so I'm clueless to the layout of the building.
I'm joining, getting boring around here without a working RP. :D Now, let me show you slackers the real meaning of "affected by fate." :D
Shadowlings Lose:
Name: Frex
Humans Lose:
Name: Frex
Hmm... I think I'm going to focus on my bug form for a while. But right now I'm waiting for Zack to continue.
OCC: Its basically the Psy Acaedmy we can explore in TSoG. Dusk and Yogc Elf: Idea Approved.
The thing spoke in his mind "Ughhhh what do you want Classmate?". The bug was taking! Zack jumped back and spoke back to it "yo...you can talk?". "Yes," it replied almost sounding like he was an idiot. Zack collapsed onto the floor again and began to breath rapidly. This was one weird place, much weirder then he had anticipated. He didn't think bugs were able to talk and he should make it clear with whatever it was that he didn't come from these parts. He looked at the bug from the ground, got up on his knees, and laughed "I'm not from around these parts..."
The boy was staring him down and talked down to him, like he was an arrogant student, "Listen up, Zack. You're new here, and evidently you don't know how things work around here. Don't cross the shadowlings. Don't make them angry, do what they tell you, and don't question them unless you want to end up like the kid in there. You have to look strong. You shouldn't have come here, but now, you'd better get used to this fast. Got it? Good. I'll be watching you. Wait a few seconds before leaving" Bob released the surprised Zack and walked silently out the door. Zack was puzzled by this sudden outburst. A person trying invade Traten? It's not possible, we would just hide in the mountains and attack when they were undefended. Zack continued to think over what that boy said; it was obliviously a warning, as he walked out of the door. He went back to the grand hall and remembered what the tall boy said. He looked at the ground and noticed a small fragment of black stone on the ground. He picked it up and felt it. It was cold but smooth; somehow he felt like energy was passing through him at a steadier rate, but he also felt also like he was watching his body from third person. He slided the piece into his pocket and the effect stopped. He walked quickly out of the hall and into the dorm areas where he saw a bunch of students talking. He sat down on one of the chairs and eavesdropped on their conversation. "Did you hear, they attacked and imprisoned Marty's Parents last night, he was removed from Mental 103 today" A small girl whispered over to her friend. "The queen is taking greater pre-cautions then I has thought, o attack Marty's parents." A medium sized boy whispered to the girl. Zack heard it again; The Queen, he decided to go to the library and check out a book on her. He walked slowly to the library and made sure to stay in one of the corners. He looked through the books and finally found one that looked decent. He looked it over and opened to book, and began to read.
"Obviously. Anyone else would know me. In my former body anyway. Your lucky the human part of me is still in control. If it had been the Bug Queen, you'd be chopped in half and fed to the little ones by now", he said with a grim smile in his voice. He glanced into a corner and directed his thoughts at a small blue creature. As the Nymph began to scuttle over he noticed a trace of shock on the students face.
"Perk of having the body of a half-grown Bug Queen. Bugs listen to me. Heh heh. But I only keep the Nymphs around. Just don't ask how I ended up like this. It's not a nice memory. And my name's Zaron. I used to have a last name but down here, one doesn't need it.".
Bob was eating in the Great Hall with everyone else. His friend Mark was getting in extra practice to improve his mind blast, so he was eating alone. He wondered about the new kid, Zack. He seemed really out of it. Now that he thought about it, he had been looking a little red. And wasn't Traten far up north? He wondered if it were possible that he had had a heat stroke. After a few seconds, he decided to contact his teacher, Grotius, and tell him what he thought. After he explained himself, Grotius agreed to check on Zack and see if he was okay.
Zack is still in the basements talking to a bug named Zaron.
Yes, but I don't know that. Last I saw him, Zack stumbled out of the great hall looking and feeling very hot, so I think he might have had a heat stroke.
John listened to the dean with increasing excitement. He had heard rumors that there was going to be a boarding student coming from Traten. Most of the students, including John, had never met a Tratenite before, and everyone was excited. They fidgeted around while the dean made the mundane anouncements. John awoke in his room, dim light filtering through the tiny hole in the wall that was his window. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes, and went to wash his face. As he was filling the basin, he heard Rashnev calling: "The Shadow! Come here!"
John groaned inwardly. Ugh, what is it this time? he thought. More insults? More nagging? "Stand up straight, you look like a hunchback.." "You look filthy, go wash yourself." "Get your greedy little eyes off the pantry, and focus on training."Rashnev could go on and on. He always finds something wrong with me, John grumbled. If only I—
"John." Said Rashnev, interrupting John's mental rant. "I said, come here." John froze. Rashnev only used his real name when there was a job to do . . .
John dropped the washbasin and marched straight to Rashnev's room. He found him sitting in his chair, holding a scroll in his hand. As John entered the room, Rashnev tossed the scroll at him. "Congratulations, The Shadow, you've been accepted into the Psy Academy."
John's face went pale. "Wh—what?! No! You can't—"
Rashnev silenced him with a wave of his hands. "Calm down. You will not be going there to learn, not that those second-rate teachers would be able to teach you anything I haven't. And you're certainly not going to become a Shadowling general. Quite the opposite, in fact. This is the biggest assasination job we've had since the past year, and you'll be happy to know that the target is a Shadowling."
Some color began to return to John's face. He regained his composure and said, "Alright, who's the target?"
"The dean of Psy Academy." John cried out in outrage again, and Rashnev had to grab him and hold him down until he stopped. After calming down, John asked, "Why can't you send one of the older members?"
"This is a long-term job. An adult that isn't a teacher would be much too conspicuous at the academy. I need someone young to can masquerade as a student. Since you are the most experienced assasin in the organization who fits within the age requirements, you're the one to take the mission." declared Rashnev. "No objections." he added, as John opened his mouth to voice one. "We are getting an obscene amount of gold for this job, so it is of the absolute highest priority."
"Obscene amount, huh?" John repeated. "What's my cut?"
Rashnev raised an eyebrow. "You've regained your business-mindedness, I see." He paused for a moment. "Your cut is ten thousand gold. And that's only ten percent of it."
John's lips went dry. "One hundred thousand? Who would be so desperate?"
"They've declined to identify themselves, but I assume that they're important Cera Bella residents who want their precious Academy back. Who could blame them? The Academy is the perfect stronghold against any future Shadowling attacks. And they probably don't want the Shadowlings training more generals like the famous redhead that took the Academy down in the first place. But I digress. All we really need to know is that they want to kill someone, and they're paying us to do it."
John remembered the mission's requirements. "But how? How can I get into the Academy? It's literally a castle!"
Rashnev's constant expression of annoyance deepened slightly. "As I already told you, you're going under the guise of a student. When you're there, you'll have to attract attention to yourself—against your instincts, I know. Be a braggart, be a star student, be whatever gets the dean's attention. Become his friend, get him alone, then kill him. Failure is not an option."
"But I'm not ready! What happens if—"
"Failure is not an option." repeated Rashnev, ignoring John's outburst. "Our employers have generously agreed to pay your tuition for three years. So you'll have to finish the mission by then. But take advantage of the free time. Train hard, study hard—who knows, you might even learn something. But never forget your objective. Now go. I have transportaion set up for you." As John went off to the boat that would take him across the lake, he remembered that he had been apprehensive that something important would happen. I think that this qualifies... he thought to himself. He got in the boat, and sat wondering what the Psy Academy would be like, and worrying about his distressing mission . . . Just think of it as revenge, he thought to himself. your desire for revenge shall fuel you during this mission . . .
Gaah! Too long! (Don't make a joke about that.) Sorry, guys, I'll catch up to the rest of the story as soon as I can . . .
Bob woke up early in the morning, earlier than normal. He opened his eyes and quickly took in his surroundings. A human had just been showed to the empty bunk across from his by some shadowlings, and was starting to arrange his belongings. Even though he was new to the academy, and had just received a red cape, Bob could tell he was far more experienced than a red cape, and probably more experienced than he was. He was a trained assassin. Bob could tell by the way he moved, by the way he was watching everything. He probably already knew he was awake, so there was no use trying to hide it. "Need any help?" he asked. "No, I've got everything now. But thanks anyways."
A friendly assassin? Not likely. Bob did his best to keep his mind concealed until the newcomer fell asleep, and even then, kept his mental defenses up, just in case. "I'm going to have to watch this one..."
The bug chuckled. "Obviously. Anyone else would know me. In my former body anyway. Your lucky the human part of me is still in control. If it had been the Bug Queen, you'd be chopped in half and fed to the little ones by now", he said with a grim smile in his voice. Zack breathed a sigh of relief but began to hear scuttling in the corner of the room. He quickly turned his head and was shocked when a small blue bug came out of the corner and came up to him. "Perk of having the body of a half-grown Bug Queen. Bugs listen to me. Heh heh. But I only keep the Nymphs around. Just don't ask how I ended up like this. It's not a nice memory. And my name's Zaron. I used to have a last name but down here, one doesn't need it." Zaron chuckled as Zack reached his hand out to pet the bug. The bug's pincher's closed quickly but Zack's hand retreated before the crunch. "The thing just tried to bite me!" Zack complained to Zaron. "Well why do you think, to them, your meat, and plenty of it." Zaron licked. "Well Zaron, my name is Zack Acron, I'm from Traten, and I should get back to the Grand Hall before people start to notice I'm missing, see you around.". Zaron returned his ending as Zack slowly found his way back to the stairs and climbed them. He got into the corridor and he began to feel hot again. He walked towards his room but was confronted by a large white creature. He thought it was called a spriggat. "Ummm, hello, what would you like from me?" Zack stuttered as he had never been so close to a creature like this. "One of your students said that you were feeling hot so I came to direct you to Mr. Srat, our Pryo teachers for him to give you a Flame Shield". He followed the creature around until he reached a classroom door where inside a teacher who had patches of his hair singed off.. He entered the room and was greeted almost instantly. "Hello Mr.Arcon, are you here for help on Yesterday's Paper?" "No Simeon" replied the creature, "He needs a flame shield, the heat must be too hot for him to handle". "Ahh yes, thank you Grotius" Mr. Srat chirped as he used a Flame Shield on Zack. Zack began to feel Intense heat for a second and then everything felt pleasantly cool. Zack thanked him and walked back to his room. He lay down on his bed and fell asleep, finally cool enough to think about nothing.
"Well that was a somewhat pleasant surprise", Zaron thought to himself. "It's been so long since I've had intelligent company. I wonder what else has changed up in the Academy since my time there. Hmm..." Zaron pondered for a few seconds then made up his mind. "I'm just going to need to find out." Zaron focused on the Nymph for a few seconds as it's normal pale blue began to drain to black and the cellar seemed to get just a fraction lighter. The Nymph became totally black and chittered silently, nothing more than a shadow. Zaron smiled inwardly. It had worked. The process was simple. All one did was feed the body shadow until all but the will, human or non, remained and the body was consumed to provide energy for the shadow. "Now go on my little friend, and check in on our new friend. But remember to stay out of the light", Zaron directed. As the bug began to silently scitter away, he made contact with it and began to see the upper world for the first time in over a year.
John looked at himself in the mirror. The black cape looked good on him. It matched his black hair and white clothing. Ben stood behind him, looking extremely proud. "See, John?" he said. "I told you you would pass without a hitch." He put a hand on John's shoulder and said, "Your parents would be extremely proud of you, even more than I am.
John smiled. "Thanks, Ben."
"Now go on to the Grand Hall, or you'll be late for dinner."
In the Grand Hall, John found himself looking up at Zack from time to time. Like many other people, he had never seen a Tratenite before, so he was very interested in studying him. And as before, there were a bunch of other students with the same idea. His studying revealed nothing, though, other than the fact that Zack looked uncomfortable. John wasn't sure whether it was the heat, the staring eyes, or a combination of both. At some point, John looked up and found that Zack had left his seat. He probably went to go get some water or something, John thought. John ate his dinner without further thought.
John was eating in the Grand Hall. He cast a wary eye arround the people he would be studying with for the next few years. There were humans from all over Cera Bella. There were several Northerners and some people from Ravinale. How interesting, John thought. I guess that the shadowlings don't care about where their generals come from, as long as they can control them. John shuddered to think about how they accomplished that. And speaking of shadowlings . . . there were several in the Hall. John shivered again. He studied the Tratenite sitting next to him. As far as he saw, he was the only Tratenite in the room. He looked uncomfortable. Uncomfortable and confused. John smiled. The weak-minded could always be rooted out. Suddenly, two Shadowlings came bursting into the hall and held what appeared to be a large, brown haired boy in their hands. He was yelling, "I want to be free to make my own choices, let me go!". He was surrounded by shadowlings, and suddenly the boy stopped yelling. He almost instantly sat down on the floor. "Let this be a warning to you all . . ." One the Shadowling's voices echoed in their head. John shook his head. Idiot, he thought. He didn't know what was good for him. John had seen too many people Wiped to feel sorry for the boy. He noticed that everyone in the Hall was ignoring the incident, so he followed their lead. When the Tratenite leaned over to the black cape on the opposite side of him and asked, "What was that all about?". The black cape whispered, "I have no idea what you are talking about" and turned away. Smart move, thought John. The Tratenite wasn't as bright. He'd probably get Wiped too, if any Shadowlings had heard him. This is a dangerous place, thought John. And I have to kill the most important person here. He made sure he was still maintaining his mental defenses. This isn't going to be easy . . .
No offense, Zackirus. I'm just calling Zack weak-minded because he seems pretty naive, and John is mean like that.
John arranged his belongings on his bunk. He had to share the room with some other boys and shadowlings. He gritted his teeth. Just being near them was repulsing. Just my luck for enrolling so late, he thought. He looked at his red cape. I feel insulted that they'd even think of giving this to me, he thought. No matter, I'll be showing them soon. He suddenly noticed the boy with the bunk across from him was looking at him. He was trying to look like he was asleep, and doing a lousy job of it. John kept his mental defenses up. He felt like the boy was seeing straight through his disguise. Then he noticed the dagger sticking out from the boy's pack. Another assasin? he wondered.
"Need any help?"
John jumped, then realized that the boy had stopped pretending to sleep and was talking to him. "No, I've got everything now. But thanks anyways." John replied. The boy seemed friendly enough, but John had learned from Rashnev not to trust anyone. Plus, with the possibility of the boy being an assassin, and competition, he would really have to keep an eye on this one . . .
There, I'm finally caught up. Yay. :P
OCC: It's Okay, Zack has been in Cera Bella for around 2 Days and doesn't know the ropes, but he is in the library right now trying to learn what he can about the Shadowlings.
Zack was sleepinng soundly, dreaming of the cold, white snow of Traten, when felt something touch him. He woke up and thought it was just a feeling, and rolled over but came face to face with a small bug that was pure black as a shadow. "Ahhh!" Zack screamed rolling out of bed but not crushing the bug. He hit the ground and shook his head. He reached up and grabbed the bug by its leg and held it up to his face. It was black but he could see a slight blue tinge. It was the same bug that he had met in the Cellar. He looked at it and wondered whether this would work or not. "Zaron?" He thought to the bug, putting it on his shoulder, "Are you controlling this bug?"
Okay, I'm neglecting my SL character for a little bit until I find something to write about
Bob wanted to think, but he was afraid to. He had always kept his mind shielded just in case the shadowlings listened, but they rarely did. Now, though, he was afraid of his new dorm mate hearing his thoughts. He wondered what an experienced assassin was doing at the school. Ever since he had arrived, Bob had been wanting to watch him, but knew he couldn't easily without being seen. For now, he was watching Zack to see how he was adjusting to Cera Bella, though he kept the new kid (he still didn't know his name) in the corner of his Eye. So far, he seemed to be studying the hall just like any other new kid would. Without being able to keep a close watch on the new kid, Bob turned his thoughts back to Zack. He was a very naive to begin with, but he was getting better. He would have to learn fast, or else he would end up wiped, like that kid, Zaron, a few days ago.
Bob is being more careful now that he realizes he is around a real assassin, and that being obvious, like starring directly at John, would just make John more alert.
Shadowlings Lose Dimension:
Name: Mike
Race: Human
Class: Psy Fighter
Affinity: Fire
Level: Black Cape
Bio: Mike was orphaned at age three when the shadow wars started, and has a long-bred hatred of shadowlings as a result. His passion that led him to the fire affinity derives mainly from this hate, as his affinity was first discovered when a group of shadowlings ambused an outdoor class at the acadamey, and he used fire to help fight them off. His current goal is to wipe out the loyalists with a group of similar minded Black Capes
Equipment: Standard black cape attire, and a knife his parents gave him. He occasionally plays around with it, learning the throw and stab.
Skills: Mind Blast, Pyro Blast, Pyro Hail, Mind Shield and a weak knife attack.
Humans Lose Dimension:
Name: Mike
Race: Human
Class: Psy Fighter, Assassin
Affinity: Fire
Level: Black Cape
Bio: Mike was orphaned at age three when the shadow wars started, and has a long-bred hatred of shadowlings as a result. His passion that led him to the fire affinity derives mainly from this hate, as his affinity was first discovered when a group of shadowlings ambused an outdoor class at the acadamey, and he used fire to help fight them off. He learned how to fight from the hardships humans undergo at the acadamey, and is a proficiant assassin. His current goal is to graduate, then escape and fight the Empire.
Equipment: Standard black cape attire, and a knife his parents gave him.
Skills: Mind Blast, Pyro Blast, Pyro Hail, Knife, Stab, and Mind Shield. His mind shield is weak however, he only learned it because it is a black cape requirement
So basically, in the SL dimension he is Psy Fighter with healing, some very weak knife throwing, and some very weak knife slashing. In the HL dimension, he is a Psy Fighter and an assassin with very weak healing. Its about equal.
Frex was running out of breath, Shadowlings didn't waste nearly as much time of energy floating as humans did running, but Frex was not about to let them catch him. Frex had just destroyed a lone Shadowling bunker, but had underestimated the amount of Shadowlings he would find there, and now he was running for his life, firing Cryo Blasts blindly behind him, occasionally hearing the screaming of a Shadowling that was hit by one and smirking at the noise. Frex knew he couldn't keep this up forever, he had to find a hiding spot or he was doomed. So, he abruptly stopped, turned around, and fired a Cryo Blast at the Shadowling that looked like an authority figure, and, sure enough, when the Shadowling was hit, all the others stopped and tried to help him up. This gave Frex the window of opportunity that he so desperately needed, he sprung off his feet into a nearby tree and prepared to block his mind, he knew the Shadowlings would try to seek him out that way. After about half an hour of searching, the Shadowlings finally gave up, and left him, thinking he would just get lost in the woods and die. Frex silently scoffed at their idiocy, a mercenary had enough rations to survive almost a month by himself, and he doubted he'd have to spend that long a time here. After the Shadowlings left, Frex waited in the tree for about 10 extra minutes, just in case any more were patrolling the area, and, sure enough, someone else came by, but not Shadowling, it was a human in a peculiar outfit, almost like a Psy Academy uniform... and a red cape to go along with it. Frex followed this child to a Psy Academy, and was surprised at what he saw, he thought there was only one, and that that one was destroyed by the Shadowlings during the Shadow War... apparently he was wrong. Frex figured the best point of entry would be the library, as few students hung out there because they would usually take their books to their dormitories to read there, so he climbed silently through the window, making sure not to attract any attention before he was in, because he looked about the age of the other students there. To Frex's surprise, he saw another student with a peculiar platinum-blonde hair color sitting at a table in the library, who had heard his footsteps and looked up at him from his book.
Zack was horrified as he read on about the Shadowlings. They enslaved regular people and killed countless more. He was so in to it he didn't realise the outside world until he heard a noise. He looked up and noticed a guy, around his age, walking through the library which was odd because he didn't expect anyone to be here. He was confused by this, and put his book down. He noticed that this guy had both a crossbow and a knife and he slightly different clothes than regular Psy Academy clothes. "Wh...ho are you?" Zack asked sounding a bit horse has he hadn't spoken in 2 hours. The guy looked worried as he had seen him. It was worth a shot, to make him trust him more, but Zack didn't know how he would respond "Don't worry, I'm from Traten"

Frex has suspiciously intricate knowledge of the Academy. Interesting...
Hehe, sorry. just read his bio.

Not really, it's just common sense to me.
After asking Frex who he was, the student said the strangest thing, "Don't worry," he said, "I'm from Traten." Frex wasn't sure how this would make him more secure, but he had no grudge against Tratenites, unlike most of Cera Bella, it was only the Shadowlings that he hated, so he simply nodded, gave a small, hallow smile, and hurried to get out of the library as soon as he could without the staff noticing him, but it was already too late for that. "Excuse me," said another voice, an older voice by the sound of it, "What are you doing here, are you a student? Where are your uniform and cape?"
Zack watched as the kid gave him a smile and left quickly. Zack thought over what he said and cursed at his nerves. However, now was not a time for thinking it over, he was intrigued by this kid and slowly followed him out of the library. He turned a coupel corners but he meet with Mr. Srat who asked "Excuse me? What are you doing here, are you a student? Where are your uniform and cape?" Zack quickly jumped in before the kid said anything and said "There you are! I have been looking everywhere for you!". Play along Zack thought to the kid "Where is my book?", "Mr. Arcon what is the meaning of this?". "Oh Mr. Srat, I asked him to get a book from the library for me but he didn't come back, so I went and got him, he doesn't have his cape because he is in his casual clothing, and I'm hate to rush but I have to finish your Paper with him for tomorrow. See ya, Mr. Srat." Zack quickly grabbed the kid and dragged him into his room which was close by. He closed the door and locked it and demanded, "Who are you and why are you here?"
Frex thought over what the guy had asked, and decided to tell him who he was, after all, he was a mercenary, not a shadowy assassin, and the kid did save his hide a few steps back. "My name is Frex," he told the kid, "I got here completely by accident." The kid that the teacher called "Mr. Acron" made a face that told Frex he didn't believe him, "It's true, I swear," he told Acron, "I just got away from a group of Shadowlings about an hour ago, and I followed a student here, where I thought I could take shelter."
John was walking to his bedroom after dinner. Suddenly, he saw a dark shape in the corner of his eye. He glanced in that direction, but it was gone. Strange, he thought. I could have sworn—ah, never ,mind. He went off to bed.
John was wandering around the east hall, the picture of a new student looking around the school. In reality, he was searching the area for escape routes. So far, he saw none besides the gates, which were all but impenetrable. Suddenly, he felt someone looking at him. He quickly turned around, but couldn't see anyone looking suspicious. There were a few students in the hall with him. The only one he recognized was his human dorm mate. He strengthened his mental shield just in case, then turned back to his investigation of the Academy. A pity that old war-crazy general tore down this place, he mused. I'm sure there was some sort of flaw in the old Academy's architecture for him to be able to break in so easily. Oh well, the Shadowlings must have messed up in some way too. "Every building has a weakness, a flaw, an escape route. It's just up to you to find it, and quickly, for you never know when you'll need to use it." Another one of Rashnev's tips. They always came in helpful, even though John refused to admit it . Focus! Get back to work . . . he thought. He shook off the lingering feeling that someone was looking at him, and walked off.
Have yogc elf and I have gone into the next HL morning? Oh well. The SL story seems to be moving pretty slowly, though.
Bob woke up late at night. He had a strange dream about fighting shadowlings with a knife. "Must have read too many books about the Shadow Wars." he thought. He reached over to under his bed, in his pack, and grabbed the knife in there. He wasn't really sure why he kept it. It did remind him of his family, but the knife somehow felt natural, like a part of him. He fingered the blade, then put it back in his pack and went to sleep.
The reason he has the dream of him fighting the shadowlings is because of the energy released when the Hero killed the queen the second time, causing slight interference between the dimensions, even though both Bobs are clueless to this.
Mike stood, shaking his head at his stubborn friend.
"I'm telling you Joseph, we need you! We need at least one more fighter before we can saftely leave," Mike begged.
The large, dark skinned boy replied evenly, "Sorry Mike, I hate the shadowlings as much as the next guy, but I just can't go. I became a black cape so that I could help my home village fight the raiders, and thats what I intend to do. I'm sorry."
"I understand. You need to help your family and honor your promises before anything. I respect that," Mike said in defeated tones. Now his expedtion to hunt Loyalists had only himself, a healer named Robert, and Pual, a guard he knew well. He would need to find more black cape fighters; he needed more firepower.
Okay, the SL dimension has nothing going on, and I figure if anybody wants to join this expedition that will give us something to do, and a way to meet up with other characters like buggy and nameless's who aren't at the acadamey. If nobody likes the idea, I'll just get an NPC to help.
I'll do HL in an hour or so.
The next morning John was walking in the East hall, when he overheard people talking. "I'm telling you Joseph, we need you! We need at least one more fighter before we can safely leave!"
"Sorry Mike, I hate the shadowlings as much as the next guy, but I just can't go. I became a black cape so that I could help my home village fight the raiders, and thats what I intend to do. I'm sorry."
"I understand. You need to help your family and honor your promises before anything. I respect that." John heard a defeated sigh. He rounded the corner and saw an very unhappy looking black cape.
"What's wrong?" he asked. The man gave a slight jump at John's voice, and turned to him.
"A black cape! You're just the person I need!" he cried. He then mumbled something that sounded like. "If a little young. . ."
"What are you doing?" asked John. "I couldn't help but hear you saying something about shadowlings." The man drew himself up and said, "Yes. We're going to go out and hunt down every last one of those idiotic shadowling loyalists we can find!" John was shocked. Partly because of the boldness of this stranger's move, but also because his parent's death had flashed through his mind again. Great, now it's not just in my nightmares, he thought.
"Hello? Are you still there?" the black cape was asking.
John snapped out of his trance and replied "Y—yes, um . . . did you clear this with the dean?"
"Of course, of course." the black cape snapped. "Are you going to come?"
"Wh—wha? Me?" flustered John.
"Of course, you. Another Psy is just what I need to complete my team. You're a Psy, right?"
"Y-yes, a Psy assassin." John thought for a bit. He was still upset at the hurried way that the black cape had answered his earlier question. After thinking for a while more, he made up his mind.
"Alright, I'll come. I have a particular. . . ah. . . score to settle with the Loyalists." One in particular, he thought.
"Perfect. My name's Mike." He stretched out his hand.
"John." as he shook Mike's hand.
"Get ready and come to the West gate at noon. See you there."
Mike left, leaving John feeling confused Why did I just do that? It's way too dangerous. I should make sure the dean knows about this mission . . . John stayed where he was. This is my chance, he realized. My chance for revenge. This is how I'll get rid of the nightmares. This is how I'll get rid of everything . . .
Later, Ben noticed John packing up. "Going on a trip?" he asked.
"Yes, classes don't start for a little while, so I thought, why not take a trip to the Great Forest for a few days? I'm sure the fresh air will do me some good."
"Alright then, be careful of bugs. See you." Ben hurriedly replied. "Er. . .I have to teach Cryo class right now—I'm very late." He rushed off.
Strange, thought John. I've never seen Ben in such a hurry before. He shrugged his shoulders and continued packing.
Is Mike allowed to be doing this mission? I mean, did he get permission?
Bob was walking down the hall, lost in thought. His teacher, Grotius, was supposed to be starting a lesson in a few hours on cyro blast. Granted, it would be several more months before he masted the attack, but he still was excited. He turned a corner and ran right into Professor Hawk, the Cyro teacher for black capes. "Oh sorry, professor. I didn't see you." Bob said apologetically. "No harm done, don't worry about it. It was my fault. Now, um, I've got to get to a class." With that, the professor dashed off. "Strange..." He seemed to be headed towards the head dean's office, not his class room. Interested, Bob waited a few seconds, then walked over to the office. He didn't want to risk getting caught outside the office, but he could use his Sight ability to see what was going on. Professor Hawk was telling something to the head dean while some other teachers listened. When he was done talking, everyone else started to talk at once. Bob moved a little closer to try to hear. They were talking fairly loud, but he couldn't make anything out. Finally, he heard a voice say "Enough!" It sounded like the head dean. "I know the shadowling loyalist have been a problem, but there's nothing we can do about it without violating our treaty with the shadowling republic. They wouldn't like it if we killed shadowlings without their permission. Until we get it, we can't do anything." He heard some more murmuring, but the rest of the meeting carried on quietly. He didn't want to be seen outside of the office, so he walked off to a practice room in the basement. He thought about what he had heard. He harbored no malice against the shadowlings, but he had heard about how dangerous they had been before. He couldn't help but think about the dream he had last night. He wondered what it all meant.
Zack and Buggy are a little behind on their stories.
Yeah, Mike is allowed to be doing this. I don't mean charging into Sommnus and kicking the crap out of the shadowlings who liked the reign of Nelis, I mean hunting down the ex-slavers who are in hiding, and still attack humans on sight. Rogue groups that wouldn't be defended by our treaty with the shadowlings.
I'm Waiting for Buggy to Respond, But I guess I can guess he is going to say yes and the bug is going to stay with me. Also: You can do mostly anything you want (I will stop it if its too big) as long it doesn't interact of any sort with the other dimension.
Zack walked towards Cryo 101 with the Nymph underneath his collar looking out at the world. It felt weird having a bug near his neck but he had to deal with it. He turned the corner and came face to face with Mrs. Biyal, his Shadow Teacher. She seemed to be mumbling to herself, "Do I want support the killing of Shadowling loyalists or not?". She paused and saw Zack. She quickly hurried off and left Zack wondering what a Shadowling Loyalists was. He sent a message to Zaron. Do you know what a Shadowling Loyalist is? Zaron responded They are are a bunch of Shadowlings that are still loyal to the queen. Zack was going to ask about the queen but he was distracted by a couple guys who were talking, about Shadowlings, he tried to get their attention but they walked off before he could say anything. All he heard was meet they were going somewhere for a few days and meeting at the West Gate at Noon. Zack quickly ran back to his room and packed his bags. He would follow these guys and try to see what was happening.
My name is Frex," he told the kid, "I got here completely by accident." Zack didn't trust him, he seemed like a pirate to him, and he didn't like pirates, "It's true, I swear," Frex said, "I just got away from a group of Shadowlings about an hour ago, and I followed a student here, where I thought I could take shelter." Zack believed him this time and thought he should start over. "My name is Zack" Zack responded as he walked toward his window and looked outside. "You said you were on the run right?" "Yes." Frex whispered. "Well, I hate to break it to you, but the amount of Shadowlings guarding this place is a lot, and even more will be here in the morning because Mr. Srat might inform the Dean. You might want to stay low for a while. You're around my height". Zack reached over to his closet and passed him one of his uniforms and a spare blue cape. "As of right now, you're enrolled in Psy Academy. You have to work out the details later" Zack smiled as he handed him the clothes and cape.
HL Dimension
Mike sat in his room, reflecting over the past few days. He had finally become a Black Cape, and was expecting to be recruited soon. That was always the pattern. Students advanced far enough, and then we sent to lead armies against any shreds of rebellion against the reign of Nelis. He had watched it happen many times. He had no friends in this acadamey, but that way a choice he had made. He had planned from the start on escaping as soon as he could, and had therefore become the perfect student for this. He had no close friends, so nobody would be punished for his escape, or notice him missing. Also, he gave off enthusiasm, but did not reveal his full power or his assassination skills so that he would be sent to a job where he didn't matter, and would have very little supervision. When the time was right, Mike could escape. When he was given his assignment, he would pretend to take it with pride, and then disappear on the way to his new "job". He would leave evidence that he had been attacked by spreading his blood on some spare clothes, and leaving several dead feral animals and weapons around his "corpse". To the shadowling overlords, it would seem that another human of little importance had been lost to the futile efforts of a rebel group. He had it all planned out. All his work, all his plans of the last few years came down to this. He grinned. He was ready.
Violating the treaty is a little bit of an overstatement, I guess. I just wanted to say that the dean didn't support killing off the shadowling loyalist yet, because he would then have to explain why the academy, which is normally neutral, killed a bunch of shadowlings. Of course, the shadowling republic probably would understand, but he believes that it would be much easier to wait until they get official permission to kill the loyalist. Some of the other teachers agree with Mike, that the shadowlings aren't under protection of the treaty, hence the bickering in the office.
Very well then, to appease the Dean, we could say we could ask the Shadowling Loyalists to come peacefully as they are wanted for questioning in the disapearance of several humans, and if they attack us we are permitted to use lethal force.
So, which we wouldn't tell the Dean, or anybody who wasn't in favor of this, would could just kill them and SAY they attacked us first. If this is okay with you, I'll put it in character dialogue.
Ben hurried down the corridor. He felt bad about Scanning John, but it was his duty to make sure the boy was safe. John's defenses were strong—partly Ben's own fault—but he had clearly caught the words "shadowling" and "mission". Ben hadn't heard about any missions recently, so he was rushing to the dean's office to make sure. He didn't normally go to meetings, but this one applied to John, too. I just hope that John won't get into trouble . . . he's still branded! Ben suddenly remembered. The thought made him run even faster. John better not run into any slave traders . . . fretted Ben.
Oops, I'm a bit slow. :P
I never said you had to appease the dean. Plenty of people agree with you. If you do a good enough job, you can kill them without a hitch and say that you were ambushed by shadowlings, and you had to strike back.
I think I'm a day ahead of Frex and Zaron, so I'll wait for you guys to get done with the night and move to the next day.
QuoteI think I'm a day ahead of Frex and Zaron, so I'll wait for you guys to get done with the night and move to the next day.
Zack's back there with them, too.
Frex put on the garments, and the cape. Strangely enough, the cape was blue, which, from what Senz told him, was not one of the more powerful cape ranks. However, he put it on anyway, what choice did he have? He was grateful for Zack saving him from the teacher, if he didn't, Frex would probably be thrown back to the Shadowlings, and he certainly didn't want that. "I've never been here before," Frex told Zack, "How do things work here?"
Sorry I'm late. I was on Vacation for the weekend and had no wifi. I thought I'd said that but I guess not. I had started typing this out already though.
"A clever one aren't you?", Zaron asked. "Yes it's me. I've decided to spare a Nymph to reestablish contact with the upper world. I have spent so long in the dark. Keep the Nymph with you, as a favor to me. But try to keep it out of the light as much as possible. It's not good for it", Zaron chuckled. "But be a good boy and don't irk it. A tiny bite is all it takes. I'm not gonna be able to direct it forever."
Then he gave it orders to only show itself if necessary and learn. Content, Zaron went back to thinking.
Cassiopia sat in her room in psy academy reading a historical account of the human/shadowling war, she noted with distaste that the war was won because of a human.
"Tratiorous," she thought "the lot of them. They'd sell their own mothers for a few coppers, such is their lust for gold and power."
She remembered her instructor, he was human but he seemed so nice, but then... She couldn't bear the thought. And there she sat fuming with anger and a general distaste for humankind as a whole. Then she thought, were shadowlings any better? To them you were a shadowling or a slave and if not a slave at least lesser because of race. Such hubris, she thought they hold themselves on their high horses never giving a thought to who they trample on their way. So which was better, a band of brigands, or a coven of pompous aristocrats? She spat, the world would be so much better if nither had won. She slammed a knife into a small table nearby her, "They should have all died and let civilized species run the world. She then recoiled as she became aware of her thoughts, she was a pacifist by heart and wouldn't harm another living thing. Her thoughts almost made her vomit. But then she reasoned that they were both a pox and a pox is a virus. Technically they weren't alive, taken by a sudden rush of sheer rage Cassiopia shoved the knife previously in the table into the illustration of the war imagining the blood dripping down and wetting the pages and the table and floor. Then she vomited.
HL dimension
Mike sat, awaiting his assignment. He has been told to come to the north gate, which was always kept shut for some reason that nobody remebered, if any had ever known. A shadowling greeted him, introducing himself rudely as Voidling. As always, Mike had a wave of disgust and hatred roll through him that enroached on his every sense, reddining his vision, souring his mouth, burning his skin, defeaning his ears, and giving him a smell of trash. But it was short-lived. At first, it had been longlasting, but many beatings and torturous punishments had seen to its longevity being dramatically reduced. Now, only the most sensitive and attentive of shadowlings could catch it, and most dismissed it.
"Your assignment, my putrid little fleshling, is to report to Sommnus to serve Her Greatness's military as a commander of recruits. On the way, you are instructed to pass through the Great Forest in search of rebels. This is a formality, as none rebel against the reign of the great Queen, but my superiors have ordered it. I shall accompany you, to ensure you do not....stray...from your duties. I am pertimitted to kill you at the slightest whim. Now, go and gather your belongings. You have ten minutes. I will meet you outside the west gate, where you will take my belongings as well."
Mike seethed at this. This Voidling was clearly a reject amoung Shadowlings, sent to fetch and follow humans; nevertheless, he had the permission to treat Mike like a mere beast of burden simply because of his birth. Yet the fool was arrogant because of this. Mike hadn't expected a guard, with the low opinion the teachers had of his power, but it was only a small obstacle. It appeared the "rebels" would simply have to kill a shadowling as well as a human. His hand moved unconsiously to the hilt of his knife. His parents would be avenged.
You don't have to say HL Dimension. We can tell by the color.
Cassiopia sat in her room pondering over a book of history, it told the account of the human/shadowling war. She notedthat it was a human who caused the outcome, how refreshing from their normal society, where crime was so rampart. It was nice to see a human being loyal and doing the right thing, in her society there was barely a criminal justice system simply because of the acute lack or criminals. She nearly smiled, then she went back to the cool and calculating entity that was herself. She heard a knock on her door, and in a flat tone allowed the knocker in.
A rather diminuitive figure stood in the doorway. He tossed her a letter along with a parcel, "don't ask me what it is I'm just the messenger." he said.
She unfolded the letter, it read; "Due to your exceptional preformance in classes you have been formally elevated to the rank of black cape. However due to current issues you are needed to preform duties outside urgently and will be unable to attend a formal ceremony. You are needed to investigate a disturbance in nearby lake alto, we have sensed some tremors coming from that area."
She was nearly giddy with joy, however she fixed her jaw and reminded herself; the truly strong do not let their emotions compromise their mission. She opened the parcel and, not surprisingly, there was her cape.
She set out to the lake fully ready for what ever there could be, silent and unbending as a rock
Zack waited around the corner of West Gate. He had a small blue book in his hand's and he noticed that three guys had gathered around west gate. However, he had heard talk of 4 members and their were only three. He put his book up and again and contacted Zaron. Zaron, I might be leaving the Academy for a awhile so, you might lose contact with your nymph.. Just don't kill my Nymph, and I'll let it go with you Zaron Responded. Zack continued to wait as a green girl passed by him and casually walked out of west gate. Zack screamed on the inside at the colour of her skin and continued to read, pretending like he never saw anything.
Cssiopia had recovered from the initial shock of her violent rage she felt the need to vent her anger against all humans and shadowlings. She strut out of her room, her mind clouded by rage, and approached a boy standing idly outside of the west gate.
Cassiopia struck the boy across the face sharply and screamed "stupid filthy humans, you deserve yourselves!". Her rage appeased, she attempted to slink away from the stunned boy but was caught by another human.
"what was that about?" the boy demanded.
"tch" Cassiopia winced at her pointed words "humans! A human betrayed his race in the war, and you're all the same person. You'll sell your mother's soul for a few small coins!" Cassiopia's words tasted acrid in her mouth and they burned coming out, but the words had a mind of their own and refused to be suppressed.
"We aren't all like that." the boy replied as if deeply wounded.
"I, I know." Cassiopia awkwardly stammered afraid that the words were still in her mouth. She shielded her eyes as she turned her head away ashamedly. Suddenly she bolted inside almost weeping. Although much escaped her vision she did notice another boy apart from the two she had spoken with and a fourth standing detached and separate from the group she had met.
Eh, I think you're in the wrong dimension, kitty.
How so?
Mike and his buddies are waiting for John in the SL dimension (in red). Mike is about to do a mission with a shadowling and John is planning how to assassinate the dean in the HL (in blue)
Oh, my mistake. Just asume that they're random other people then.
Okay then everyone back to the story!
Zaron watched Zack as he waited. Then he felt it. A strong presence. Almost like a spirit were right next to him. Crossing his eyes awkwardly he looked to his right into the spirit plane to see a Greater Ghost floating next to him, curious and calm. "Yes?" he asked, not really expecting a reply. "You're an odd one", stated the ghost. From what Zaron could detect, the spirit was obviously a normally peaceful being with a very clear knowledge of who it once was. "You're no cookie-cutter mold yourself." he replied. "And what would the cause of your current situation be, young student?" Zaron shuddered inside, trying to force himself to call up the memory to share with the friendly seeming spirit.
Yup. This was a goodish RP. So I'm attempting to revive it.
i don't suppose it would be to late for a last minute entry?
Sure why not. Although, Rainen does not have access to both dimensions, even if he is a... whatever he is. Also don't make him to powerful (Red, Blue, or Black Cape, not White Cape level)
Hey guys, on the same accord as rainen I'd like to get in. There are a few clarifications I need, though, so I don't make a character that's disallowed:
1. Must he/she be humanoid?
2. Must he/she NOT be a Shadowling?
3. Must he/she be the exact same character in both dimensions? I know that the characters are different based on their experiences in each dimension, but I mean must they each be the same person pre killing of the queen/the dean?
4. Must he/she be an applicant or student at the academy as opposed to fulfilling another role there (such as that of a Shadowling in the HL?)
I read the entire story, so I'm up to date. Please respond soon.

1. Not really, just don't overpower (OP) him/her.
2. No, he/she can be anyone in the Telepath universe, this is an RP, after all.
3. Probably, same person, probably a different experience.
4. Methinks not, as that is a bit too restrictive.
I thank you profusely. Now, I know OP means overpowered, but this term needs a bit of explaining. I'm not trying to create a dud!...
I swear!
Overpowered: Capable of putting a crater with a mile radius and two miles deep with a single pyro/cryo/light/shadow blast.
OR...
Overpowered: Capable of doing too much of anything with too much ease.
So I suppose a GOA would fall into such a category, eh? :D
GOA?
Stands for "General of the Armies." The Shadowlings would almost certainly have one given their hierarchal way of things.
Ah. Yeah that would be OP.
Such was my suspicion. I'll find a work-around. Still I'll have a shadowling character, though. ;) In truth, though, an RP is more a collective story than a game, so what would it matter if one had a character of power? I mean, not of "conquer a country with my army of 300,000" power, but more than is currently allowed? Ah, well. I'll make no complaint. Now, to draft a character...
All right. Character drafted. Now, if Zack'll get around to it, maybe we can resume this RP!
guess i'll go ahead and make my character.

Oh yeah, Buggy, one thing. The GOA wouldn't technically be over powered, because his "power" is actually authority. ;)
Rainen... The queen is dead in the SL dimension. "Shadowlings"-meaning the floaty headed things-"Lose"-meaning not win, prevail, conquer, etc. Get my somewhat bluntly made point?
Forgive my annoyance, but are we just going to screw around on this forum or will Zack get crap straightened and kick this game back into gear? I feel we've strayed to another place altogether and need to be "untrainwrecked."
We're sorry. Zackirus could not be reached. Please leave a message at the sound of a Bugfart:

Zack is going to be gone for a while, I think.

Once again, make that clearer next time.
well you know me. king of all things half baked, TYPED IN LOWER CASE, ironic, and totally irrelevant.
Okay Everyone, I am re-starting up TTA. We will continue from where we left of, okay. Any other topics can be dealt with in personal messages.
Zack looked at Frex and laughed, "do you think I have any idea? I've been here, what, 3 days? Its a school, I dunno, behave maybe?"
Zack face suddenly turned serious, "a better question is what the hell is going on in Cera Bella? What happened here? Who is the Queen and the Loyal One? Can you explain?"
Frex processed the question.
"Hell if I know," he replied, "But, from what I can gather, the only 'Queen' I know about is the Shadowling Queen, who knows, maybe I'm right."
Rainen slid the scrap of wood back in to place, covering his hole up. So they don't spread around his true name... How typical of the queen to hide her most precious minions...
Jace woke up and stared at the ceiling well looks like my special sessions start today... I can't believe I can use two elements... Even the dean said it's unheard of... He stood up, threw up a mental shield and locked his door. He walked down the hallway and outside of his dorm, and went straight to the admin building. He walked down a couple halls, looked up at a door number, and walked right in. Standing in front of him was a man and a woman, the first dressed in red with a white cape, and the second dressed in white with a white cape. Hello Jace, We are your teachers. The one in red spoke "My name is Fizooz(spelling?) I am a pyrokinetics master." The one in white spoke immediately after "My name is Luna, I am a master of Light based abilities."
OOC: hope you all don't mind me throwing some TSOG characters in here. I thought It would be amusing to do so. On account of the need of dual trainers and such.
OOC: Just remain Historically True, since they are ghosts in TSoG, they might have to die. However, in the HL dimension do with them as you please.
Zack signed, "I'll guess I research the more when I have the chance. However about your arrangements, I think you should just stay in my room until something works out, if any teachers come by..." Zack paused thinking of what to do. "I know!" Zack handed the book to Frex, "Just pretend like your studying or something." Zack walked over to his bed and sat down. "What were you doing outside the library at this un-Sorther like hour though?"
Zack took one more look at the boy's waiting to go on the trip and quickly hurried down the hall. Surely they weren't going to leave right now, he hurried down the hallway. He had forgot to hand in a paper to one of his teacher's. He quickly turned down the hall referring to his memory of the past few days, and stopped in front of a door. Surprisingly, it was opened. We walked inside the classroom and noticed that their were two teachers and a student conversing in the classroom. "Sorry to interrept," Zack said trying to sound like he had breath, "I just wanted to give my paper to you miss." He walked over and took the paper out of his bag and handed it to her. "Sorry, about that" Zack laughed as he turned to the other student, "My name is Zack, the transfer student from Traten, and you are?".
OOC: Its you Rainen.
"I thought I explained already?" Frex said, "Eh, but I guess it wouldn't really hurt to retell the story anyhow."
And so, Frex had retold his story of how he was on the run from Shadowlings, how he hardly had any breath left and kept running, how he had to blindly toss Cryo Blasts behind him and how he got a one-in-a-million hit on the leader during a risky move he pulled, how he had to hid in a tree for almost an hour before he saw someone, a student from the Academy, that looked to be heading to a shelter or just a place to sleep. He then told Zack about how he thought that the most convenient and safe location into the Academy was the library, common sense telling him that the students there either had their noses in their books, were reading at their dormitories, or were just asleep in the library.
"And here we are now," Frex concluded.
Well, if it's quite alright, I think I'll make my first actual story related post! By the way, Zack, please get my character posted. In any case:
Noxus had been on the road now for quite a while. The route from Somnus to the Psy Academy was a long one. Safe, though, and flat. Long in the horizon it lay, whitish walls gleaming in the mid-day sun. Speaking of the sun, it was hurting Noxus' eyes. He was finding it hard to adjust from the dank depths of the City Beneath the Earth. "If I hurry it'll be a less time consuming trip, and maybe I'll get out of this blasted light," he thought to himself. He made his way to the gate posthaste.
Noxus looked through the stack of papers on his desk. "Paperwork, paperwork, paperwork, letter- save that- more paperwork," he thought, sorting it all. New territory meant paperwork, and lots of it. "Orders? 'needed at the academy...safety measure...dean's protection...' Hmph. Alright, then." He would make no complaint about re-stationing. It wasn't nearly the worst thing that could happen.

"It was a couple years ago..." And so, Zaron began to show his guest the story of his current state...
I was being punished by one of my teachers. In a class I really loved, believe it or not. Entomology 101. Well, except for the teacher. Living humans have very little respect for the value of life. Anyway, I had spoken out against my teacher's methods... He and I never saw eye-to-eye. And not just because he used to be a foot shorter than me. It had been over whether bugs had any good impact on the environment. And how much they hurt it. He was narrow minded; convinced that he was absolutely and utterly right. He believed that bugs were simply pests to be destroyed on sight. I thought differently. I saw bugs as examples as to how humans could better society. Each unit doing it's job, and doing it efficiently. How each bug, while not intelligent by itself, was smarter than most people combined when it was in tune with it's queen. For this, I was sent to the Deeper Downs. He thought that since I cared about the environment so much, I should be more than happy to clean up the mess those Mechanics had made. It was then that I discovered that another bug colony had moved in. So, time went by and I managed to make up excuses to leave so I could go there to learn more about them. And when I couldn't leave with permission, I began sneaking out. I actually found out that from here, one cam get almost anywhere in the building. Or leave it when wanted. And no one would be any wiser.
But, alas, my peaceful so far relationship with the bugs was not to last. I had earned enough of their respect that their queen wished to meet me in person. Unsure of what to do, I reached out and contacted the queen. Now, this might confuse you, but every living being is Gifted to some degree. Humans, Shadowlings, and Spriggats are the more prominent races. But bugs are strongly Gifted too. But rather than learning to hurt others with their Gift, they learn to keep in almost constant Contact with their queen over very large distances.
The queen had grown jealous. Seen me as an imperfection in her system. So she attacked me. But not physically. Mentally. She had the mental support from thousands of lower bugs to aid her. She began feeding on my mind in a way not much different from the Shadowlings. It was death. A seemingly never ending period of death. I panicked.
I began to try supporting myself, and started using what shadow I'd learned to mimic her. I fed off of her as well. But things never work out right. With a two way bond between us, something had to give. We were balanced in mental strength for the most part. But then a bug hatched. It's support upset the equilibrium and I found myself being spiritually sucked into the queen. But rather than be consumed, we merged. I became the mind, and took her body. Scared senseless, I dashed away back to the Academy and snuck back into the cellar, unaware of what had happened to me.
I had passed out. When I woke up, I was surrounded by bugs. So many that the dirt floor was gleaming black with the shells. I felt each individual bug expressing primitive concern for their queen. But it was directed at me. It was only then when I realized it.
To the school above, I had simply vanished. I was nonexistent. I learned how to interact with the bugs and summon them to my side at will, and I've been here ever since.
"And you were on the run from the shadowlings because?" Zack asked, sounding a bit concerned for his new friend.
"Hmm," Frex began, "How should I say this... I'm a mercenary, and my last mission was to burn a Shadowling bunker, but there were too many, and they chased me here."
OOC: I really need to get to the academy to interact with you guys. It's dull out here!
It didn't take long for Noxus to reach the gate. After sorting out the initial formalities at the entrance, he was directed by a guard to a building in the southeast of the campus. There were several students out giving him strange looks. Most of them had probably had never seen a Shadowling in person before. Likewise, Noxus had never seen such a number of humans in one place.
At the southeast building he was greeted by a dark skinned man in a white cape. "Welcome. You must be the new student. We don't get many Shadowlings around here. Oh, by the way, my name's Aram," he said extending his hand. Noxus believed he was offering a "handshake," customary of many human cultures. Accepting it, he replied, "nice to meet you. I'm Noxus."
"Well then, Noxus, glad to have at the academy. Follow me, I'll show you around." Aram led Noxus about the buildings and described each one's purpose. "The building we're in now is the southeast. This is where the administrative offices and several classes are located." They went on to another building, congruent to the previous. Aram explained, "this is the southwest building. All of the stores are here, should you like to purchase things such as medicine or books. Also the location of the library, which I strongly recommend visiting." The next place visited was the northwest building. "This is where Ms. Cleo's is. Needless to say, the primary purpose of the northwest building is leisure." From inside came a growl followed by a low thud. "It gets a little rowdy sometimes," said Aram with an awkward smile. The two then entered the northeast building. "And finally," Aram said, "this is the northeast building with all the dormitories. Speaking of which, here's yours," he finished, gesturing toward a door in a row of six in the hall. Go ahead and get accommodated. I'll leave you to it. You'll get your cape and class syllabus tomorrow. See you in the morning. Oh, and good luck on your first day!"
"Thanks," Noxus replied as Aram took his leave. Whew. This was a lot to take in at once.

I'll edit this soon to continue.
Just saying, and I'm sure you know this because of the way the humans treat the Shadowling, you'll probably have to "Go Blue" to interact with us (Zack and me). Or, just Zack, who is most likely there in his SL dimension as well.
Go blue? Lost...
And feel free to join me in the cellar, Shadoroq! Zaron might like some more company. Though his new ghost friend...
Zack yawned, not at the story, but because it was getting late. "There is a sleeping bag under my bed. You can use it if you wish." as he slowly climbed into his bed. He turned over and fell asleep...
His dreams were clouded in mystery. He began to view a ship, somewhat similar to a Traten Design. It was a merchant ship. Oddly, it was sailing through rough waters. Zack tried to make the storm stop but it only got worse. Due to his efforts, a huge wave crashed into the ship and the ship started to tip. The dream started to get a little hazy as Zack saw many sailors on the ship plunge into the dark sea. However, a younger one, held onto the mast. Zack began to shift his thoughts on helping this sailor. Suddenly, The mast broke off, but Zack, was able to keep the sailor from failing off. The dream was starting to get hazier and hazier as he saw the solitary sailor, knocked out while lying face up, still clutching a piece of driftwood...
Zack woke up in a shock and realized it was a dream. But it felt so real, Zack thought to himself. He looked over at his window and noticed the sun was just rising. He got out of his bed, and carefully avoided Frex who was still sleeping on the floor. He walked over to the closet, put some his robes, and felt his room. He walked down the hallways, and into the library where he jumped out of the window Frex jumped in. He stopped and smelt the fresh air and he looked down the courtyard and saw a well beaten road. In the distance, he should see a solitary shadowling floating towards Psy Academy...
Frex saw Zack yawn, but in a way that looked like he was trying to stop, so as to not be impolite, it looked like.
"There is a sleeping bag under my bed," Zack said, "You can use it if you wish."
Zack then climbed into his bed. Frex had experience with sleeping bags, and found the bag quite comforting, as he was used to sleeping in them on his missions that required time, sometimes up to weeks at a time, and slowly drifted off to sleep.
Frex's dreams were not very peaceful, but not unusual. It started out as a regular mission, the same one as a dozen times before, crossbow in hand, target in sight, and the trigger is pulled. The Shadowling falls, and Frex runs as a psychic alarm is sounded, and Shadowlings are closing in behind him. One had a Bone Mask, a Guardian, that couldn't be good. He fired Cryo Blasts and his crossbow simultaneously, but the Shadowling just kept coming, shrugging off or not noticing at all some of the wounds that were inflicted, if any at all. The Guardian made a gesture dreaded by all who apposed them, the hand gestures combined with their psychic powers to open a Dark Vortex, and then everything went black.
Frex woke up abruptly, panting, and covered in cold sweat. He was not dead, but very much alive, but perhaps a little dead inside. He could not comprehend what this recurring dream was about, or if it meant anything. Maybe a long-dormant memory, but, still, Frex would have some recollection of an incident like that... Regardless, it was still early, and Frex went back to sleep, hoping for that dream to come back for closer observation, but, at the same time, hoping for it to stay away...
cassiopia awoke in a cold sweat, her scream had penetrated through the dormitory walls and even as she calmed herself and suppressed her weak stomach her friend Talen bolted into her dorm as she collapsed in releif of the waking world. Immediately Talen, ever concerned expressed his fear for Cassiopia, but the shadowling's fear was quickly put to rest. Cassiopia was afraid of her dreams now, for each time she slept she seemed to put more blood on her hands.
This night had been the worst, she had been in a forest, both shadowlings and humans rushing at her, she did not hide but smiled. Cassiopia cackles at the thought of murder of others, normally even the mention of blood set her stomach on edge but in dreams she viciously slayed millions. How, Cass wondered, how physically and mentally could she hsve preformed such a terrible deed, not only would the forces have quickly overwhelmed her but she could not bear the sight of blood much past a few seconds.
With relief Cass collapsed in Talen's hands grateful for another tortured in the same way, ghoulish, she thought that she would be comforted by another's pain, but his hands comforted her. Two orphans of war in a forbidding and dangerous world.
Cassiopia awoke in a cold sweat her teeth grit suppressing terror and anguish and more than anything outrage. Cassiopia had seen her parents, and their faces as they burned, "humans," she thought "are the lowest scum on the planet." Every day she wished for their pain, for only every human body set alight could begin to atone for her greatest loss. She grabbed a doll off of a nearby shelf and it caught alight in her hand, then Cassiopia proceeded to have the doll flail and shreik in the play death of burning agony. Satisfied she lay back down but sleep would not come the burning faces of her parents who gave their lives to the fire so that she might be spared, they were heroes and the humans were monsters, she saw their tortured faces clearly, shut eyes only focused her vision.
She remained silent she would do anything but attract the attention of Ram, his parents died in the same way but he was soft, and never would she give up.
Noxus had an uneventful trip to the Psy Academy. The number of humans here was frightful. Though he did not hold the hate of them inherent to most Shadowlings, the sheer number of them was discomforting to him. One or two wouldn't have mattered, but this place seemed to be swarming with the creatures. In reality there were only seven or eight out at the moment, but his mind always seemed to exaggerate such things. He noticed then that he had unintentionally and prior unknowingly attracted the attention of one of them, pale, likely a Tratenite. He impulsively quivered out of xenophobia and made his way on.
A quick look at the Shadowling soldiers around him provided enough for him to tell that he was senior in rank to all of the them. Why would one such as he be needed here? Perhaps a visit to the administration would be enlightening.
"Major Noxus, sir. You're early. How may I be of assistance?" the receptionist asked. "Very simply, I'd like to know why I was ordered here. It seems unusual for an officer of any rank higher than captain to be needed at this institution." "Ah, of course," the receptionist replied. "There have been some unexpected occurrences as of late here at the academy." The major asked suspiciously, "such as?" "Unfamiliar fleshlings appearing in the library, others disappearing into rooms. The tipping point of the balance was perhaps the destruction of one of our bunkers not far from here. Reportedly a squad pursued the attacker due south, straight this way, and was not successful in incarcerating him. It was decided that for purposes of security a commanding officer of equal or higher rank than the rest would be needed in case of an outburst or other undesired situation. Basically, sir, you're here as the new head of security."
Cassiopia awoke the next night, this time her dream had been so vivid that she could feel the heat from the burning flesh of her parents. But instead of shrieking she contained her anguish for she knew her pain would be abated, the night was the full moon, and she would not forget her parents, she was returning home. As soon as Cassiopia cleared the dorms She broke into a trot and then a run, she worried not about the guards, she knew each personally. She was unfazed until she aw a new face, a shadowling who looked as confused and anxious as she. He was new and she had failed to notice and now it was too late.
OOC: Shadowroq here's your turn
OOC: In the HL my character wouldn't be that apprehensive. He is, after all, a major.
Noxus was on rounds late that first night. Nothing happening for one hour... two... but then he saw someone out. Not one of his guards, but a student. A gelf, seemingly. Why had none of his subordinates seen her by now? "You," he said coldly, "what are you doing out at this hour?" The girl had clearly not expected to be caught, running past so many Shadowlings. What had gotten into these psys this time? The receptionist had not been kidding when she said "unexpected occurrences."
Cassiopia stopped dead. She heard a shadowling's voice yelling at her, fight or flight suddenly kicked in, she chose flight, using what few wits she was still possessed of she did the first thing which came to mind, blind him. Not permanently only for perhaps five minutes. Still she needed to get away fast, the now incapacitated shadowling wasn't the only witness, but Cassiopia would never leave return without seeing her parents, just once...
OOC: follow or not Your choice.
Frex's sleep had been disturbed by the psychic and audible screaming and yelling of Shadowlings, and his blood ran cold. They weren't looking for him were they? Carefully concealing his mind, he took a few steps the the dorm window, and outside he saw a "Wood Folk," as some call them, running away from Shadowlings as they were floating after her with immense speed. He couldn't let this go by, and fired off a few Mind Blasts to incapacitate a few Shadowlings chasing the "Gelf." They clutched their heads and screamed, and some even fell to the floor, unconscious, probably just new recruits, Frex smiled at this, a guilty pleasure. He couldn't throw any Cryo Blasts, as they were too visible, and the Shadowlings already sensed something amiss, he could not risk his own position, as they would find out that he was the one that burned their bunker, and would execute him harshly, even though they care fairly little for such outposts. There were only a few more Shadowlings following the "Gelf," and Frex was eager to see what she could do.
Cassiopia heard a few screams behind her, thankful that less were following she almost turned back to thank the mysterious helper, but as she was about Cassiopia's sense of self preservation kicked in and she bolted. Cassiopia thought she must look funny to her helper slowing then moving almost comparable to a frightened hare. She continued into the wood deftly and instinctively avoiding each tree, it was nearly impossible for anyone, human or shadowling, outside her race to pass through the thicket. Cassiopia soon found the remains of her first and true home, she navigated to the front of a pink magnolia which the Misty April weather had set ablaze, no, awash in color. She sat in front of it, taking in the sweet aroma of it's flowers and then began to weep, for her fear, for her parents and for, more than anyone the helper, he, or she, she reminded herself was probably killed by those pursues of hers. She let out an anguished shout for the death of her parents, the only ones to stand by her. "why, why is all of the blood falling on my hands?"
Frex saw as the "Gelf" bolted out of the Academy, and into the forest. It felt good to help people, especially those against the vile Shadowlings. Now, he had problems of his own, the Mind Blasts he had attacked the Shadowlings with let out surges of brain activity, easily tracked by the Shadowlings at this point, as they were now on high alert, even raiding some dormitories. Frex didn't want to be caught, nor did he want his sleeping companion to be caught with a fugitive, both of which would likely receive death penalties. He had no other choice, and while the decision was a risky one, it was the only plan he had. Frex had jumped out of the dorm window where the Shadowlings could not see him, outside the Academy, and had fired weak Mind Blasts as "beacons", to lead the Shadowlings away from the Academy. When the Shadowlings had finally reached the last "beacon," it appeared as the trail led to the forest, but Frex carefully positioned the trail to lead away from him, Zack, and the "Gelf." The Shadowlings that went off to pursue him had been oblivious as to how they had just been sent on a wild goose chase, and he was glad they were, Let them rot, Frex thought, They deserve as much, as he went back into the dormitory where, unbelievably, Zack was still asleep, likely because Frex's plan was put into motion before the raid came to Zack. And so, Frex once again crawled into his sleeping bag, lent to him by Zack, where he carefully shielded his mind, and went back to bed.
OOC: Sorry we sort of messed up the timeline Zack. :(
Jace woke up to the sun shining on his face This sure has been an interesting few days... I wonder what they'll do today? Jace got up out of bed and threw his school clothes on. He looked at his black cape for a few seconds before attaching it. I can't believe how much has changed... Private tutors and all... He stepped out of his room and seconds later an icy blast flew right in front of his face. Jace looked over and saw a rather large boy in a blue cape. "Hey kid, nice cape you got there. How about I turn it blue again like it should be. Not again... "Leave me alone I have to get to class" The boy smirked and began to conjure up another cyroblast "Not today kid. You see me and my friends don't exactly like it when kids like you get bumped up because you're special" Jace closed his eyes, feeling the emanations of hatred emerging from the larger student. He pressed lightly on feelings of jealousy to make him act rashly and then began to form both a lightblast and pyroblast. "I got 'bumped up' because I'm stronger then you. You're just to jealous to notice it you toad" The boy let out a snarl and charged Jace. He let the cyroblast out and Jace quickly hit it with his pyroblast. The boy produced a small knife as he ran and as he stepped close to Jace, he let the lightblast loose, hitting him square in the chest. The boy fell down and dropped his knife, clutching his chest, trying to hide blood. "I'm gonna kill you kid, dont ever let your guard down." Jace smiled and simply said "I don't plan to." He gathered some energy and created two pyroblasts. "In fact I don't plan on ever worrying about you again" The boy looked up at jace wide-eyed "Oh god no, please don't kill me." Jace brought the flames down close to the boys face, then let them lose on his hands, completely charring the skin. The boy howled in agony and vainly tried to create a mass of ice to cool his hands down. "Good luck being anything now. People like you don't deserve to be called a psy." Jace walked off and smiled, hopeful that he wouldn't be tormented anymore after this.
"this is good Rainen. Take your squad and raid that facility I'll have a team sent with carts to load up the goods after you. We should be able to acquire a good stockpile of supplies with minimal losses as long as your reputation holds true." Rainen bowed slightly and ran off into the darkness of the cave. He ran by memory, through the twisting tunnels and into a large open cavern where 3 other people were waiting. "We have a go. Plisca and Gedi, you two scout the place out for weak points. Feru you work on a distraction. We'll hit it tonight. Plisca and Gedi nodded, running off into the darkness. Feru ran down a side tunnel to a dimly lit lab. If this works as planned we'll be living like kings for a month... Rainen pulled his twin swords meggido and luma out and pushed power into them, watching the red and white dance along the symbols etched in the blades. Then it'll be time to work on the real prize.
Zack handed the teacher his paper and quickly said hi to the boy. He then ran off, and went back towards the gate the boys were meeting at. After wandering around for a couple minutes he knew he was lost. He tried to retrace his steps but found himself at the Library. He went inside to ask for directions but the librarian was nowhere to be seen. He walked down the different rows of the library, trying to find somone, but all he found was some kid who was asleep at a desk. Zack grimaced and walked down the final row. It was an old section, sporting books that looked like they haven't been used for years and were about to fall apart. Zack's eyes fell on a single light blue book that looked in decent condition. He pulled it out from the self and held it. It was about the Shadowlings and The Shadowling war. Zack was about to read the first page when he suddenly felt a quick jolt in his mind. He blinked a couple times and looked again at the book. Everything looked and felt the same. "Weird..." Zack whispered, putting the book back in its place. He walked out of the library and towards the cellar. He wanted to see his only friend. He found the cellar, as it had cold air coming from it, and quickly went down the stairs and saw his new bug friend leaning against the cellar wall. He also saw a ghost standing, no, more of floating, next to him. "Hey Zaron." Zack greeted, trying to remain calm.
Zack looked at the shadowling and quickly hid in the bushes. The shadowling floated by, to tried to scan the area. Zack got up from his hiding spot once the shadowling was inside the building and found himself face to face with some sort of green women. Shocked by the moment, he quickly fainted.
OOC: The shadowling wasn't Noxus. Simply, Noxus came and thought he saw a Tratenite, but he actually didn't. Cassiopia then went out and found the attraction of Noxus. Cassiopia was then helped by Frex to escape. Once everything had finished, Zack went outside and saw a shadowling coming hid, and then found himself next to Cassiopia...
Noxus became very annoyed as the little gelf disrupted his senses and made a break for it. The next few minutes were tumultuous and loud. Two things he hated so much. The others were shouting as if they were being accosted, but surely the girl couldn't easily run and mind blast at once. "Trace it to its source," he thought. There were multiple blasts inside the walls, but also several outside. As Noxus' sight returned to him, he saw a couple of his fellows unconscious on the ground and the rest out of sight. They must have chased after the gelf through the east gate. But why then, would she have tried any mind blasts around north side of the academy? Besides her pursuers there would be no one there. She must have had help, and that help led his men around and away. "You've got to be kidding me," he thought, "this is just absurd." It was far too late to follow after the gelf, but this second one could be found. Most likely he or she was in the northeast building, both because its position was proper for such an assault and because it was the student dormitory building. But what could he do? Scan every student in there? That would be fun. Yeah. Real fun. "Ah, well. I need to get those fools back in here anyway." Noxus floated to the north gate, had it opened and shouted to the guards who now were coming round the corner, "get back here, you idiots! You've been tricked." They all slowed at the words of their superior and traveled back to the gate. He told them, "I believe that escapee had a partner who assisted her. Search the dorms inconspicuously. Record anything- or anyone- that could be related, but alter nothing." "Yes sir," said one, and the lot of them headed over toward the dorms. "I told you going that way was a bad idea," said one to another. "Shut up!" came response. "This was humiliating. I cannot allow another such fiasco to happen," he thought to himself. This wasn't the worst thing that could happen, but it was bearing more resemblance every day.
The next day, sure enough, a cape and slip of paper were in the room. A list of classes, it seemed. That was expected. Noxus drew up the cape and looked at it. A shadowling couldn't very well wear a cape, but he had a bright idea he'd been meditating on since his first contemplation of joining the academy. He folded the cape's width down to a sixth its typical size. The "cape rope" was then easily tied around his wrist. "Dandy," he said to himself. According to the notice, though, his first class didn't start for another hour. Unable to remain still any longer, he left his bare dorm and took a look around the building. This place was pretty empty save for dorms and a cellar entrance. Hey... ah, what the heck, it's not like there wasn't time. Noxus opened the cellar door and floated down. The place was fairly empty. He went further into the cellar, past some boxes, down another few steps and came to see something rather unexpected: a number of bugs like those from the Deeper Downs. "Whoa... awesome!"
Cassiopia awoke from her trance, and walked into the charred wreckage that once meant home to her, she touched the nearest upstanding pillar and nearly it gave way, but she caught herself and nothing fell other than a few sooty chips. Then something amazing and in all respects truly fantastical happened, Cassipoia heard the voice of her mother, it was calm, sensible, beautiful, eloquent and everything else it should have been. At first the speech was indistinct but soon the voice became clear, it instructed her to press ahead. Unable to argue Cassiopia did so without question.
"to your left and under that fallen arch."
Cassiopia obeyed, she could do nothing else and never would have wished to. At Cassiopia's feet lay the burnt body of her mother.
"In my hand darling, the cloth. Take it; it is the name the one to burn me, it is only right that you know, and only, is it right, that you make a choice."
"Mom, I" cassiopia responded unsure if her mother was really there and could hear.
"please do go on."
"Why did you leave yourself why didn't you save yourself and instead run back into the blaze for me?"
"There was too much blood on my hands, such is the curse of our people. And I loved you more than the world you were everything to me and I knew it better to die while you lived than to live while you died, and I made the right choice and I will never regret it."
Cassiopia read the name aloud " Daniel Tanner" then she said into the empty blackness that surrounded the burnt home, " Pray I never see you Daniel Tanner, because I despise pain and suffering, so I will kill you right away.
OOC: Kitty... It doesn't seem very Telepath RP-ish. Just IMO.
Hey, this is an interesting story. I know it's been going on for a while, but could I make a character and join?
Sure Gath, go ahead. Just remember to follow the template on the first page.
yeah, and really anyone can jump in, just so long as they follow the rules
Shadowlings Lose Dimension:
Name: Ben Archid
Race: Human
Class: Assassin (Black Cape)
He's been working on Shadowporting in his spare time, and will soon develop the skill.
He's trying to develop a light bomb, but hasn't succeeded yet.
that all seems slightly op to me. And coming from me you KNOW that means something.
"I don't care what the circumstances are Jace. Don't ever do it again." Jace was sitting on the floor with his eyes closed. He had been getting hammered by Luna over what he did to the boy outside of his room. "But they even caught him lying about the incident. He was caught red handed... No pun intended..." Luna closed her eyes and a small shower of white sparks emitted from them. "You have these gifts for a reason they are to protect the people of this world. Not destroy them entirely. What you did to that boys hands destroyed any hope he had of becoming a psi." Jace opened his eyes and looked up at his teacher. "He was to jealous to become powerful. He's been a blue cape for over three years. He was a blue cape when I got to this school!" Fizooz walked into the room and connected minds with Luna. They both remained silent for a minute and then Luna spoke up saying "Fine. I'll let you off easy this one time on account of my husband feeling it's time for you to ascend to the next level. We will begin to teach you how to control light and fire energies in larger amounts and spread them over longer distances and farther areas.
Rainen opened his eyes. He contacted his team and made sure they were in position. It's time to start. Feru initiate the distraction Of in the distance a massive wall of fire lept out of nowhere. A wall of arrows immediately came flying through and exploded on a small section of the compound. In the distance a lone figure was running under the cover of trees towards Rainen's position. Guards immediately came running out of the compound towards what they thought was an army coming to attack them. Rainen slipped in unnoticed into a large warehouse filled with supplies I found it. Get the merchs over here to cart this stuff back to base. Gedi came running out of a second warehouse closeby Get some drivers. These guys have some caravans that we can use. I'm sure they won't mind us stealing their supplies with their own wagons. Rainen smiled, amazed at the success of the mission so far. GOLEMS! SWEET MOTHER OF GOLEMS! Gedi get over here and work your magic on these guys. We can usem to fight their own guards off while we run. Feru came walking out of a third warehouse and Gedi immediately rushed towards it. Now here's something we can use, sweet sand and perfumes! Plisca, ditch it we can only bring back supplies and VALUABLES. Oh shut up Feru. Just because you don't bathe doesn't mean everybody else doesn't. Besides if all else fails we can just sell maybe half this stuff on the market. Plisca walked out of a small storehouse holding purple and blue bottles This trip is totally worth it now. Rainen smiled, glad that this find has been so worth it. Gedi, send the golems out to help our "attack" I'm sure the guards are noticing the lack of people by now. A small army of golems began moving from the compound towards the same direction of where the guards ran off. Rainen, the supplies are loaded up and the extra wagons are too. We tried to stop Plisca from taking the perfumes and sand but she insisted we moved immediately. Oh don't worry about it Jaqu. She's right. That stuff can fetch a pretty penny on the market. And besides, Even I'm afraid of what she can do when she's angry. You guys head back to base. Those golems won't last long. I'm sure their tech guys are already getting them back under control. Rainen searched around an emptied room and then found what he was looking for. He blasted away a painting, revealing a small door, opened it, and then proceeded downwards into a small room glowing with a faint yellow light. The last piece to the puzzle. With this we will destroy that cursed queen once and for all. Rainen picked up a small glowing orb that was resting on a pedestal and immediately ran out of the room, only for a massive amount of spikes and arrows to cover the entire area. That filthy liar. There WERE traps in the area. Rainen looked outside a window and saw a small contingent of guards returning to the compound. He quickly ran out of the building he was in, met up with Plisca, Gedi and Feru, and the four of them ran off into the night.
Don't worry I've sent him an email saying what I think should be done to make the character more fair.
mkay. Finished updating my post lol. Totally forgot about the HL dimension
OOC: Don't worry, Rainen. I havn't even touched the HL Dimension. Speaking of which, can we reverse the coloration? When I see the blue, I initially think that it's the world in which humans win. And vice-versa with red.
Zaron turned to look at Zack. Yes? Need something? Now's not really a good time. It's almost shell shedding season.
"Oh. Sorry about that. Who's the ghost?"
I was just about to ask that myself. Zaron got back on all six legs and began calling a large manner of local members of the colony to himself. Turning to the ghost, Your name is what?
Ah... My name. What was it?!? He seemed to start to grow worried. Ah! Yes! My full name is la Maîtrise de Soi. But just Maîtrise will suffice.
Hmm... Interesting. So what did you need, Zack?
OOC: Shadoroq, I will get to you. Zacks just had initial claim on conversation first.

At this point? I don't think that would be possible, especially with so many people that used to play this having a very unusual on/off time, there's no way we'd get every post changed, and that would lead to confusion and chaos.
I know. My mind just keeps telling me that it's a bit backwards.
well you do associate blue with good and red to bad more often then not. But Dusky is right, It's far to late in the game to change it.
I don't really do that for some reason, I guess I just can assign values well. or I had no previous bias in the matter.
Gath, why don't you post an activity your character is doing, we can't meet you if we don't know what you're doing or where you are.
Cassiopia, was just leaving, ashamed with her outburst, of course she hadn't the heart to take a life, she was just being dramatic, and to no particular audience. Frankly she would never life it down if there was anyone there, even worse they may have seen her cry, that would be terrible.
As she left her fears were realized as she suddenly found herself confronted with a human who upon seeing her promptly lost his consciousness. Cassiopia would have loved to never see this, this human ever again, but her selfless instinct took over. Cassiopia quickly summoned a scorpion and hoisted the unconscious body onto its back. He didn't regain continuousness as she brought him into the infirmary at psy academy, that was a blessing for the explaining she would have to do would be tremendous. she quickly explained to the attendant with a few carefully placed lies and half truths the events which led the unconscious figure into the sick wing, no questions were asked and, she hoped nobody would be the wiser

Not always, I, for example, associate this particular shade of blue with a cold and bitter/lonely feeling, and this particular shade of red with a warm, comfortable environment, but that's just me.
I usually associate orange with warm.
let's get back on topic now.
We are on topic. We're talking about the color of the stories.
no for real, this is not me joking, this is me telling you to get back to storytelling.
I concur. I'll make something in Computer class. Right now im working on science.
Ben walked into the academy for the first time in months. His experience with the Helenites had been good, but it was time to return home. He immediatly headed for the dean's office. Luckily, the headmaster was there when he entered.
"Hello, I managed to make it back. Do you have my class list?"
"Yes. Basic Mind Blast training, Basic Mind Shield training, and Advanced Shadow Studies. An intersting list."
"Yeah, well...I need to be good at the basics to graduate, even though I'm very good with shadow."
"Remember to train everywhere. You need diversity to succeed."
"Yeah, guess so."
After he left the dean, Ben headed for his next destination: the library. Helena had a few shadowling assassins in his service, and Ben needed to make their abilities his own. It was time to embrace the way of Shadow.
Ben slowly walked into the academy. He had to stay in this dump for another year. His missions with Darkeye had gone well, he loved using tactics in real life. Even the general had started to listen to hid plans by the end of his service. He thought that was a good sign, as Darkeye had not been happy to accept a human. Not even the great psy, who saved the general at Lake Alto and destroyed the academy could change the general's feelings.
The academy was the same way. Shadowlings sneered at him as he walked by. The toughest challenge, once he graduated, would be winning their loyalty, not tactics. He headed straight for his dorm. During his time away, he had managed to grab a book about advanced light techniques. It had cost him most of his money, but it would be worth it. It was time to learn a light bomb. He decided to study in the library instead, after realizing his dorm was a mess.
Jace was laying down outside. For the past hour he had been staring up at the sky, watching the clouds drift by. Jace, report to my room IMMEDIATELY Jace sprung up and almost flew to the gates of the academy. "Hey I'm back" A guard opened the gate and Jace went running through. He ran straight into the faculty building and right into Luna and Fizooz's room. "So glad you could make it. We think we have discovered a way for you to increase your natural abiliys" Jace instantly stood up straight, a bright look in his eyes "So you mean I'll finally be able to use combo attacks?" Fizooz looked at Jace with a blank stare "... Yes, you will be able to use 'combo attacks'. The practice is uncertain but we feel that you have a unique ability to call forth massive amounts of power in the form of rage. By harnessing this ability you will be able to create more powerful manifestations of your abilities as well improve the duration of their effectiveness." Jace staired at Fizooz, thinking for a moment back to the blue cape that he destroyed They must have figured it out because of that... Jace heard Luna's voice in his mind That is... mostly correct. Your episode with that boy opened up the possibility of such an ability. But your actions and reactions during your training are what proved that you would be able to call that power up on an as needed basis. "So how often do you read my mind?" Quite often. I am able to connect to others in a very unique fashion. It alows me free passage within their mind and unless they are looking for my presence, my touch is virtually unfelt. Jace concentrated on Luna's words and quickly felt a faint pulse within his mind. He focused on it and pushed on it. Trying to remove it from his mind. The pulse intensified and he pushed harder. He thought of being fed upon by a shadowling, one of his worst nightmares and pushed once more on the pulse. Time passes and once more the strength of the pulse intesnified, becoming painful in his mind. He focused on feelings of anguish, of pain, and of misery and fed them into the pulse. He pushed as much of the pain and suffering into the pulse as he could and then suddenly, it went away. "Congratulations Jace. You have succesfully learned how to harness feedback." Luna placed a hand to her head and Fizooz held her shoulders He leaned over and whispered into her ear "How strong was it?" She leaned over to him, also whispering, saying "stronger then even he
could think of. There is something different about this one. Some strange force feeding him, and possibly on him. He needs to be watched. Unfortunately he managed to block my touch. It will be difficult for me to reestablish a link with him. But it can be done"
"Very good Rainen. Your progress was outstanding and your achievement greater then even I had predicted. The supplies you and your team obtained will be more than enough to fund our operation for the next few months. I can even afford to be generous with your rations for the next week." Rainen looked straight ahead at the figure that ran their operation. "Thank you. Oh, and before I forget. I found it. I have the orb hidden in my quarters right now. We only need a few more until we can mount a major attack. I'm sure of it." The figure stepped out of the shadows into the light of a candle. "Wait a minute... Aren't you?" "Yes, It is I,..."
OOC: which major trpg2 characters are still alive and in hiding that would know the trpg2 main really well?
"I just wanted to say hi." Zack responded keeping his eyes on the ghost floating around Zaron. "You know... face to fa... ahhh... bug." Zack was still creeped out by the by the ghost as it floated through some barrels, and made a quick lie. "You know... I have some work to do... See you around."
Zack quickly left the cellar and preceded back to his room. He unpacked his books from his bag and put them on the ground. He climbed into his bed and had a quick nap.
A vision of a knocked-out sailor on came into view. He tried to focus on him but the more he focused, the blurrier, the figure became. The figure slowly stirred and put his hand on his head. The figure started to speak but the words blurred out. "U hh h, y ad". Zack worried for his safety casted a minor mind shield on him and he slowly began to rise up. The man looked around and said, " e...w re m ?" The words still fading. He went over to a group of... the dream faded before Zack could see what.
OOC: For the sake of story, can we pick a name for the main? For now, until another name is agreed upon I'm going to go with Riac. (r-I-ack)
"Yes, It's me, Guy. Riac's old friend before he betrayed us all." Rainen stared in bewilderment, Stunned that Guy, a person who fought along side the one man who doomed the world to serve the queen, was running the organization that he was a leader in. "But what about Anya?" "We lost contact with eachother. When he betrayed us all it really got to her. We stayed together, on the run for a few years but then one day she was just gone. I never heard from her since."
Jace saw a boy walk out of the cellar door as he was getting ready to leave the academy to go to the deeper downs for some practice in fire manipulation. What's that guy doing? He waited a few moments until the boy was gone and then proceeded to go down the steps. Out of the corner of his eye he saw a bug, a large bug. He yelped, creating a pyroblast STOP! Don't hurt him! Jace looked around, trying to find a body to the voice he heard. The bug skurried away into the darkness. Jace help the ball of fire, shrinking it slightly, and he kept walking in the direction the bug went. Sorry, I kind of have a fear of bugs. Who, and where are you? Jace held the ball of fire up and infront of him he saw a rather large bug. My name is Zaron, and I am right infront of you. Jace's mouth dropped and the ball of fire dissapated. "uhmm... h-hi? m-my name is j-jace..."
OOC: Well it's time for jace to enter into the main storyline now.... if there even is much of one...
Oh... Darn. I was hoping for a low profile character.
Zack bolted upright and yelled, "Wait!". Zack took a deep breath and noticed that he was in the hospital wing. One of those shadowling creatures, floated in the corner and studied and sent a message to his mind.
"Ah Fleshling, you awake. The other Fleshing was correct. You were merely knocked out. Now before you go, there is a shadowling here you need to talk to you." A red shadowling appeared from behind a curtain and floated over to Zack.
"Fleshing, there was an... inicident. A certain student was able to evade the guards with the help of another. Were you part of this...".
Zack frowned and replied sarcastically, "Yes, I helped his student while I was knocked, because that is totally possible."
Shadowling growled a treat, "I should have you thrown in the dungeon for such a responses, but I will let you off with a warning. This time." The shadowling turned away and floated back towards the door.
Zack got out of his bed and walked over to the door. "Your free to go." the green shadowling signed. Zack opened the door and walked back to his dorm. He opened his dorm door and still saw Frex sleeping on the ground. He looked over at Frex's stuff and noticed a small wooden crossbow. He went over and picked it up. It wasn't good as his but it could probably do the job. Zack then suddenly remebered what the shadowling had said and looked at Frex. Surely he hadn't had helped the student, but if they found him, it might be trouble for both of them. Zack whispered into Frex's ear, "Hey Frex, we need to talk."
And Frex slowly began to stir...
Frex felt a whisper in his ear.
"Frex," the voice said, "We need to talk."
Frex wanted to get up... but didn't at the same time. He could almost sense what Zack wanted to talk to him about. So then, Frex got up, with some hesitation, trying to keep cool for the off chance that this wasn't what Zack wanted to know, yawned, stretched, and directed his attention at Zack.
"What is it?" he asked.
Cassiopia, upon returning was quickly put under effective house arrest within her dorm, only allowed to leave with a chaperon for classes. Each night Cassiopia pondered an escape, each day, as the full moon grew closer, she became more desperate. On the last night of the waxing gibbous moon, she tried her most desperate measure, she summoned a mouse. To it's leg she attached a note, and sent the little rodent in search of the human she rescued.
The "spies" Noxus had ordered into the dorms returned. "Sir," said one, "we found only one thing of any suspicion. Dorm 56 is being shared by two fleshlings. It is only intended for one." "Very well. Return to your post." "Yes, sir." Noxus gave orders for two guards to escort them to the administrative office lobby the next day. He would have to see to them in the morning.

Oh... Darn. I was hoping for a low profile character.
Rainen is th low profile one. And besides, Jace will probably end up in the deeper downs for weeks on end.
I'm tired of people just looking through a door and seeing me. I'm deeper in the cellar than that. Just so you guys know.
Zack looked at his unconcerned friend and said, "Their doing checks on the students at the school. Apparently, some student got out and was helped by another. We might be checked so alert." Zack took the book that was lying on his bed and put in his pocket. "Now. I know that you would probably not help a random student to attract attention to yourself, but did you? Zack asked praying the answer was no.
Before Frex could respond a small mouse crawled out from under the bed holding a note. Zack and Frex looked down at the mouse then at he other. Frex leaned over and tried to grab the note but the mouse flashed its teeth. Zack leaned in closer and the mouse didn't hiss. He grabbed the note and the mouse crawled onto his hand, and into his collar. "Stop! Sto...top that! It tickles" Zack laughed as the mouse crawled up his arm and rested on his soldier.
Frex took the note out of Zack's hand and read it out. "To the human, that I saved, and fainted in front of me. Meet me in the library tommorow at noon..."
"Hmmmm." Zack said thinking about what had happened to him.
"You fainted?" Frex smiled as he handed back the note.
Zack took the note and put on his bed. Zack signed, "Long Story...".
Before Zack could continue the door burst open, and accordingly Zack jumped in Fear, as two red shadowlings stood in the doorway and demanded, "You fleshings, come with us, you need to be... questioned..."
Zack gulped and send mental message to Frex, "Frex, Its Zack, follow my lead," as they walked out the door and followed the shadowlings to a door which when they opened, lead to a dimly lite room, in which, there was a table with 2 chairs and magenta shadowling floating. The two red shadowlings closed the door, and the Shadowling smiled, "Welcome fleshings. Sit. We need to talk..."
@Buggy, OOC: just to note I edited the post in which I found you to match. Sorry for being presumptuous.
Sure enough, the two guards showed up with two young fleshlings in haul. He said to them as the doors shut, "welcome fleshings. Sit. We need to talk." As they did, he continued, "seems the two of you have bunked two to a room. This is not allowed and shouldn't be necessary to begin with. You," he said, gesturing toward one, "are Zack... apparently no last name. Strange, but irrelevant. But you," and he looked to the other, "could not be identified." He'd had the student records checked, and they were checked very quickly. "Do you realize what this means? I believe you are trespassing, a serious offense indeed. And with that, fleshling, defend yourself."
"Wait!" Zack yelled before the Shadowling could do anything. "I have a last name. Its... Archon. I... didn't use it when signing up for the school because... it doesn't matter why! He's not a trespasser but a student named Mark Guelph. He was only in my room because we were working on a... shadowling history project!" Zack took out his small book and showed it to the shadowling as evidence. "Besides, why would I, of all people, habour trespassers in my room?" Zack sent a private message to Frex and said, 'You a student named Mark Guelph. Blue Cape. In My Light, Cryo, and History Class. Right now, the real Mark is in someplace called the Deeper Downs." Zack looked at the shadowling and said. "Are you going to attack a student for simply sleeping in another Room? Surely you have bigger things to worry about... like students escaping at night and going into the forest?"
Frex held back the urge to smirk at Zack's shrewdness, and nodded in agreement. However, the Shadowling still looked a bit unconvinced.
However, he then turned to Zack and said, "I suppose you're right," keeping a close eye on both of them for any signs of deceit, "However," he went on, "If I find out that you are lying to me, you," he pointed to Zack, "Will be lucky if you are sent to a maximum security prison, and you," he pointed to Frex, "Well, first we'll have to run an investigation on you, but, if my gut feeling is correct, and you are who I think you are, you will be executed, slowly and painfully, most likely. You are free to go."
OOC: Sorry for controlling your character, Shadoroq, I just wanted to keep the story going. Hopefully I portrayed him correctly?
Just as Zack left, a Shadowling popped their head in, curious. Zaron prepared to mob the intruder with shadow bugs as he quickly Scanned their mind. Odd. It's name was Noxus.
Leave. Tell anyone about me, and you'll suffer. Was all Zaron said, projecting a horrific image of a Shadowling being torn apart as an example. Then, the Shadowling turned and floated away. Only to be replaced with yet another human. This one seemed more intent on the shadow bugs that were still dispersing. Once more, Zaron Scanned the intruder. This one's name was... Jace? Odd. Then Jace whirled up a fireball, and aimed at one of the bugs.
STOP! Don't hurt him!
The human looked around, and the bug scurried away. Then he lessened the fireball.
Sorry, I kind of have a fear of bugs. Who, and where are you?
Then he held it up, shining the warm light right in Zaron's face.
My name is Zaron, and I am right infront of you.
The fireball vanished, and the darkness was once more restored.
"Uhmm... h-hi? M-my name is J-Jace..."
I know. I had Scanned you the moment you walked in. What do you want?
Then, directing his thoughts at Maîtrise, he asked
Darned visitors. Maybe it's time to move. Want to come, Maîtrise?
I don't see why not.
Very well. When the time comes, try to keep up.
OOC: @Duskling Yeah, you did. And I meant defend yourself verbally, as in a "disprove my point" kind of way. I did not plan to assault you. Ah, well, too late to change. Maybe the misconception will be fun.
Noxus received a great feeling of dread from no particular place in the cellar. Great enough to discourage any further adventure. He turned back and exited the place with a shudder. Probably for the best; it was almost time for his first class. "Let's take a look here," he thought, pulling out his schedule. "'History of Psionics.' Predictable enough. Too bad they don't offer a bouncy ball class," he said to himself, juggling the set of eight as he made his way to the room.
"Wait!" Zack yelled. "I have a last name. It's... Archon. I... didn't use it when signing up for the school because... it doesn't matter why! He's not a trespasser but a student named Mark Guelph. He was only in my room because we were working on a... shadowling history project!" The fleshling took out a small book and showed it to the shadowling as evidence. "Besides, why would I, of all people, harbor trespassers in my room? "Are you going to attack a student for simply sleeping in another Room? Surely you have bigger things to worry about... like students escaping at night and going into the forest?" Clearly the message had not gotten across straight, but Noxus did not bother to correct.
"I suppose you're right. However," Noxus went on, "If I find out that you are lying to me, you," he pointed to Zack, "will be lucky if you are sent to a maximum security prison, and you," he pointed to Frex. "Well, first we'll have to run an investigation on you, but, if my gut feeling is correct, and you are who I think you are, you will be executed, slowly and painfully, most likely. You are free to go."
The two rose and filed out one after the other. Noxus glared as they did. A scan didn't turn up anything useful as both of them were suppressing their thoughts. But this one, "Zack," as it was, had made a hefty claim on behalf of the the other: positive identity. Noxus was near certain this boy was not Mark Guelph, and once the real Mark was found it would be all too easy to bust them both. He couldn't help but let his glare mutate into a smirk as he projected his message to the supposed Mark Guelph, "Don't be surprised if you find yourself here again very, very soon."
Zack walked quickly with Frex back to his room, however, they were interrupted by Frex stopping quickly and saying, "He knows... and he is going to come one of these days"
Zack grimaced and continued to walk to his dorm. His mind was going at a million miles per-hour thinking about different ideas. After Frex and Him were in his room for thirty minutes. He came up with a brilliant idea. "Say Frex." Zack begun, "Are the shadowligns bad at telling person from person. Because a lot of the shadowling teachers often call students by other students names..."
"A Bit." Frex responded
"Well, if we could cut your hair, and dye it, and enroll you in Psy Academy, you could technically avoid being caught. It is a risk though. We would need money to enroll... And their is the problem of Mark Guelph when he comes back."
'Hmmmm." Frex pondered the idea.
"Your a Mercenary, right?" Zack asked.
"Ya." Frex responded not even thinking about the question.
"How about we try and raid a shadowling bunker. Even if it is a small one, it might have enough for a semester worth..."
"Look there is only two of us. Even if it were just an outpost we would be overwhelmed."
"I think I can find a third..." Zack smiled, looking at the note on his bed. "But. What do you think of the idea?"
(Insert Frex's Response Here)
Before Zack could respond, the huge bell, the one that notified the five minutes until class, rang. Zack picked up his books and quickly looked back at Frex. "Just wait here for until I come back. Don't go anywhere..." Zack quickly left the room. Running to his Affinity 101 Class.
Jace It's time for you to go now. Jace sighed and looked out the window. For the past week he had been preparing for his trip to the deeper downs so that he could train his abilities without risk of endangering others. OK I just need to pack a few more things. Jace stuffed a few things into an oversized bag and then walked out of his room, locking his door shut. "Hey kid were do you think YOU'RE going" A rather large boy with a blue cape was standing across the hall from him "Sorry but I don't have time to deal with you like I did your friend. Move or die. I'm already late and Luca doesn't like it when I'm late." Another boy wearing a black cape stepped into the hallway with the first one and a third boy who was wearing a blue cape stepped into the hallway on the other side of Jace "You're not going anywhere punk. When you mess with MY friends you mess with all of us. and YOU are in it big time now." Jace let out a small sigh and closed his eyes, focusing his energies and feeding his anger. Within seconds he exploded and unleashed a torrent of flames which the second boy barely managed to block with a shield "Nice try kid but ever since Felipe here got moved up he's been specializing in shielding techniques. I know about you're little "gift" and we all agree that people like you don't deserve to be around us hard working types." Jace smirked and looked behind him, wondering why the third boy wasn't attacking. Then it occurred to him that the first boy wanted the glory of taking him out, and the other two were just there to even the playing field These guys really do know so little... "From the looks of you I doubt that you've ever even come close to working hard. Isn't that right fatty?" The boy scowled and created a pair of pyroblasts. The boy behind him spoke up saying "Dom calm down he's just trying to get under your skin" "Shut up Felipe" ALL OF YOU STOP THIS AT ONCE Jace and all three of the boys fell to the floor gasping for air. Luca and Fizooz walked around the corner of the hallway, past the lone boy who was curled up in a ball holding his head. "Jace I thought I told you to never harm another student again." Jace got up onto his knees, slowly standing up "Sorry. They had me cornered and wouldn't let me pass. I had no other option" Fizooz smiled quietly and then frowned saying "Then you contact us and inform us of the situation. You are far behind schedule now. You will be arriving at the deeper downs at nightfall. Set up camp outside for your first night and practice matter manipulation. Your second and third days will be spent on form manipulation. Return to us once you have achieved a higher form of your abilities, or when you run out of supplies. I encourage you to forage for what you need as that is another set of abilities you will need. Now go and do not waste any more time
OOC: Rainen, you were still in the cellar, just so you know.
Zack hurried off to the Library. He needed to meet the green thing that save him. He entered the library and looked around there was no one is sight. He signed, and turned to leave but a green thing, a girl... came out of the shadows.
"I've been waiting for you to come..." She said, trying to sound friendly.
Zack nearly fainted again, but held on and managed to say, "Who... What are you?"
Zack woke up and heard voices outside his door. He peaked his head out and looked and saw three guys on the ground gasping for air. He quickly closes the door enough to see out of and watched as two of his teachers came out and started talking to one of the boys. He walked out and listened to them. They mentioned things like training and The Deeper Downs. He was curious but the boy had walked away. He frowned but he thought one of his teachers could tell him.
He walked down and the and started to noticed something. A huge poster that said, 'Do you want to learn History? Then go on the Somnus Trip next week. Talk to one of teachers to sign up..." Zack grinned and hurried off to find a teacher, for once.
OOC: Anyone who wishes can go on the Somnus Trip. Its open to everyone.
As Noxus juggled the balls, he saw a poster announcing that there would soon be a trip to Somnus. "Learn about history," it said. "Huh. Not likely for me. I just got out of that place. I don't really want to go back, but it couldn't hurt to start the year looking smart by displaying my 'incredible' knowledge of 10th grade Shadowlands history. I'll have to think this one over."
OOC: I won't exactly be around to much so that's why I left my characters off at obscure places. Sorry if i broke the story line in the red dimension. Call it a time lapse if you will.
The two fleshlings left. Once the major was certain they'd gone, he exited his office and hurried to the lobby, saying to the secretary, "Where is Mark Guelph?" "Currently, sir, he's in the Deeper Downs for training purposes," the secretary told him. "Well, get him back." "But sir, it will take at least three days for him to-" "I know that," Noxus interrupted, "Just get him back here. ASAP." "Yes sir."
