Now that you can ask Griffin about Cygnus, we have learned that he wears a golden baby mask. Why does he wear it? What do you think is behind the mask?

Well I'm pretty sure it is not a fashion statement but he is trying to hide his face.  I personally think it is something else because as I said their no need to wear a mask if you don't need to hide something and besides why would a regular human hide its face to other people's (even if it is distorted).

I think his face is mangled, like darth vader or tarzil (bone #9)

I think he might not be human, gelf, or any other humanoid race we've seen. Maybe it's similar to the phantom armors and is really being controlled by an immense spirit going by the name of Yawah.

I think he wears a mask for the same reason D'Kah does.  The mask makes him appear more imposing then his normal face would.

That's likely, but if his face is mangled he could say "You can teach me nothing, I have fought GODS!" as he pulls the mask off, I hope that's it.

If that happens, I can already hear the Nelis Fight Background music. He whips it off and the final boss battle commences.

He is. It says so on the wiki.

I know I mean that should be how the final boss battle is led into, he could have been in a direct fight with yawah or maybe some other divine figure, (maybe a nameless cat)

Nah. Maybe just a ghost. He whips off the mask and says,"I am a god!" Really Cygnus and Yawah would be one and the same.

I answered fashion statement, albiet seriously. I think he does it for intimidation and mystic. It is easier for people to believe he has God-granted powers if he looks different.  If he looked the same as other people, they would be more inclined to say he's just using Psy powers.

He could use the mask as a disguise, and be a senator, or some other person that is well known, and to avoid ruining his reputation, he wears a mask.

maybe... he is one of the main characters IN DISGUISE. Also, I don't really see why anyone would fall under his control even if he was wearing a fancy golden, infant mask.

Hmm... Who would it be though?

That is just dumb.  If it was a member of the Resistance, then he could just kill every Resistance member while they sleep.

I agree with im2smart4u on this one. I was thinking Cygnus was a politician who wore a mask to prevent people from figuring out his identity, and that the main might recognize Cygnus if he took the mask off.

I agree, I doubt it's a resistance member, just saying who if so.
