Unfortunately I can't provide a log nor screenshot, as the time it happened, I didn't know it was a bug... Played the Rescue Meridian map, and only the high level (new) troops from the top right after me. All the rest were stationary, will see if I can reproduce this.
Most of the other troops likely trigger for you getting close to them, did you wait for the big guys trigger before approaching anyone else?
