Question:
How powerful do you think the Hero's got to be before he's ridiculously over-levelled?
Option 1: Lvl 16-20
Option 2: Lvl 21-25
Option 3: Lvl 26-30
Option 4: Lvl 31-35
Option 5: Lvl 36+
I am writing this topic as sort of a blog. Detailing step by step where I'm up to and how powerful my characters are. Also, I would like each of you to give suggestions of what I should do next.
It's slow progress but I'm up to the deeper downs. Helena and Flint have joined me. My Darkling is quite strong with Shadow Blast and Shadowport 2.
I'm done for now. I'm up to the workshop, I haven't flicked the switches yet but I'm going to. By the way, how do you get spin saw's off them because sometimes you get them and sometimes you don't.
It's random. The odds of a bronze golem patrol dropping one are (if I remember correctly) either 1 in 6 or 1 in 8, depending on the battle.
So do 3 Gloems in a battle means 1 in 6 and 2 golems in a battle means 1 in 8. Also, can you have more than one spin saw at a time and can you get them before you open the doors.
I've got 5000 gold! Yes 5000! I've never had that much at once before. That might be enough to reach my first personal goal. Get everyone's stats to at least ten each e.g. psy power 10, swords skill 10 e.t.c. I'm so happy! :)
I defeated the shadowling queen (again) and now I'm on new game+ my stats are more spread out in this runthrough but I think it's fairly safe to say I'm about as good as I was before! :)
I'm going to join the academy again on this runthrough and then i'm gonna join the shadowlings on the third. So long as it's on easy, I should be able to do it.
I'm on my third runthrough. :) I'm gonna be totally evil this runthrough. :-*
Sorry about all the posts. I'll keep them to a minimum starting now.
Use of the modify button would be greatly appreciated.
Not to worry: having a playthrough journal (http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=4474.msg144149#msg144149) is kind of a cool idea for a thread. :)

I think that's right. I don't recall whether you can get them before you open the doors--it might very well be that you can't.
You can, trust me. I've done it.

Hmm... why are you online at this time of night?
It's Only 6:00 for me, I must be in a different time zone than you. To be correct though, you live in Europe (at least thats what you MSN says) an I live in Canada ;)
I've opened the chest! Yes! What fights give you LOADS of gold?
Never mind, I'm just doing the Bug Queen.
The spriggat assassin's is supposedly the best when starting off.

Well, the spriggat asassin's does give the most money in the game and is harder comapared to the Bug Queen, but still I would just do the Queen/ Dean on easy so that I could get my 5,000 gold everytime ;)
Ah. I only just found out that that chest had 5000 gold in. And, that happens every game? Sweet!
If you beat the game at a harder difficulty you get more gold. I think the chest by Hellion gives you 18,000 gold after beating the game on brutal.
That's right, you get 18000 on beating the game on Brutal. Certainly allows you to quickly level up the rest of the team, as new game+ allows only the Main to keep the stats.

No it doesn't! My characters are power 15 and defence 15 on New Game+, just like they were last game.
Hmm, this isn't the case in the non-sinisterdesign.net versions.
I remember now- Craig updated the sinisterdesign.net version, so that all characters keep their stats.

Phew, I'm glad I chose the sinister design version then.

actually its 28,000 Gold but what's the difference :P
I've completed the game many times over and I'm not playing it anymore.
So, how did you find your latest play-through? Enjoayble? Any new things discovered?
Not really. Just monotonus. I wanted to uber train but I couldn't because they make you have to do 3 mechanics fights. :(
I think I´ve made it around 20 times 8). I´m not kidding.
after a playthrough or two on normal, i literally just cut all but the main from my team, played through twice more, then started ramping up the difficulty
However, since reading about Dorgon and Malignus, I am playing on sinisterdesign.net and have gone through twice
it nice to rediscover the game

Quite a large difference. After beating Brutal, I went solo, I leveled up my Main with the 28,000. It didn't take long to use up all the gold. 18,000 (while still a large amount), wouldn't have gotten me even close.
for some reason it wont let me hurt the bug queen on sinister design, and i know ur supposed to attack it from the side but it just says i miss or there is a wall, i only started playing it on sinister design because of the chest to skip to the end of the game and such :'(
That is actually a well known bug. Just try reloading the page. It should work. And this isn't the right thread.
