Question:
Which species do you like better?
Option 1: Shadowling
Option 2: Spriggat
Here's where we discuss which species is better liked, Shadowlings or Spriggats, and why.
I voted Spriggats because they are superior in every way to Shadowlings, strength, affinities, etc.
P.S. No, I can't change my name to a Spriggat name since I' am better know as "Duskling," than I ever will be with any other name.
I vote for Shadowlings because although the Spriggats are better the Shadowlings are more mysterious.
Hello Slstoev, welcom to the forums, follow the rules, use proper grammar and punctuation, play the games, and enjoy your stay! :)
I pick the Spriggats because they actually fly, not float, the race is not limited to a single affinity, and Spriggats don't eat us.
Did anyone else first think of Calvin & Hobbes when they first saw the Spriggat Assassins?

Actually, I think they are named after European philosophers John Calvin and Thomas Hobbes, after whom the characters of Calvin & Hobbes are also named. If I remember correctly, the third assassin is named Rousseau, after another European philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau.
Yes, they are- in fact all Spriggats are named after philosophers- but that's what jumped into my mind at first.
I pick shadowlings since they are more comples of a society, were winning the war against the spriggats ( before you came along and before they sided with the academy) plus, based off of TRPG2 they can do vortex and shadowblast and mindblast and shadowport and mind shield and mega sheild and big sheild... And all spriggats can do is 3 elemental attacks and heal. Shadowlings have more variety than spriggates. Plus shadowlings look cooler even though they have less details.

Oh, I guess I never realized this, haha. Which philosopher is Cerzak named after, then?
I personally like shadowlings better as I find shadow attacks (non-Dark breath) to be way better than Cryo and Pyro attacks. As it has been said before they have more diversity of attacks than spriggats. I also think they do look cooler.
Spriggats, although I base this opinion on the simple fact they look really, really, cool.

Actually, he might not- his TRPG Wiki page is the first thing that shows up if you google Cerzak.
I like spriggats more, because they are so much more imposing than shadowlings. I donĀ“t know why, but they definatly are.

I believe John Locke is one of the names, not John Calvin. It always suprised me that Craig used the names of philosophers for the assassins names, when all the other names are original (at least, to me)
I think it was Locke, Hobbs, and Rousseau.
And I prefer Shadowlings, really. They're very interesting, and they're not just the standard 'bad guy' race that you usually see in games.
^^ It is. But they come from the philosophers John Locke, Thomas Hobbes, and Jean-Jaques Rousseau.^^
And Hugo Grotius.
Indeed, it was quite amusing having Aristotle on your team in TPA2 :)
I personally like both well enough, though the Shadowlings are presented in much greater depth in TRPG2. There are a couple of quite enderaing Shadolwing characters, so it's not that hard to connect with them, even if there are a few issues with the way the Shadowlands Empire was run.
Well... I hope we will learn more about spriggat culture in SoG.
Shadowlings. They have way more personality and they kick way more butt than the spriggats.
Shadowlings are interesting and useful, but sprights are more widespread in their elemental affinities. They don't have the style of shadowlings, but they are about just as good. I like them both but I'm leaning towards shadowlings.
I think the breath attacks are cooler, then anything shadowlings can do. (I don't count shockwave or fire gate.)
When I see a Spriggat I instantly think:
QuoteOMG!!! ITS A DRAGON!!!!
But when I see a Shadowling I instanly think:
QuoteOMFG!!! ITS A COOL FLOATY THING
Shadowlings. They would have won the wars without the Main, and the best Shadowlings (Tastidian/Nelis) are stronger and cooler than the strongest spriggat (Cerzak)
Shadowlings are awesome, if only for the fact that their plumes constitute every part of their body that is not their head.
Shadowlings:
They're faster.
Their primary attack is mental, to which there is no resistance (or at least it's very rare). Spriggats can't perform mental attacks.
Because their only affinity and resistance is Shadow, they can't quite turn on each other, like the different spriggats could.
Spriggat attacks are all elemental, to which anyone can gain resistance from an elemental shield.
Spriggats, with roasted potatoes (mmm... delicious).
Err... wait... isn't this what you're talking about?
Sorry... :P
I prefer Spriggats. They have (at least apparently) more variety.
And mezzoforte, Red Spriggats (http://telepath.wikia.com/wiki/Red_Spriggat_%28Class%29) have mind blast and Frost Spriggats (http://telepath.wikia.com/wiki/Frost_Spriggat_%28Class%29) too.

I prefer them in a pot roast :P
You all are missing the point!!! (Oooo. Spriggats and roasted potatoes? Yumm.)
The point is
Why didn't anyone offer to share with me?!?
Shadowlings rock and Spriggats are kinda lame... :(

That could change in a matter of time.
How would that change?
The telepath rpg is a large and amazing series at some point it will make a difference to spriggats.
What? A group of the same elemental affinitied spriggats grouping to use their Psi powers to create a volcano, blizzard, or some shadow related mass area attack?
To be honest I don't know.
