Alright, first thing I would like to say is this:
If I did not include you, please do not feel offended. I added the people that I see debating a lot.
So vote!
-
May I suggest that you add an option "none of the above"?
-
Ehhh... the reason I'd prefer not to is because it destroys the integrity of the poll
Like adding an "I dont care" option.
If you dont care, dont vote.
-
im2smart4u is the most knowledgeable, while somewhat sarcastic/offensive. Duskling is not quite as knowledgeable, but is less hotheaded, so they basically tie.
I'd say my only strength is being the one of the few who seems to acknowledge when they do/don't have a valid opinion, in which case I either cite my ignorance towards the topic, or just don't participate.
-
To he honest I did nOt expect to get any votes... Especially since I didn't vote for myself
-
I say Duckling, as he is more up-to-date and all-round more intelligent than I' am, and he's not very offensive at all (Though there are those rare moments).
P.S.: I'm not too crazy about threads comparing the intelligence of forum members, however indirectly it may be doing so.
-
I'm with Duskie-Poo on this. While I voted, this will not end well.
-
Duskling: Aw... that's nice of you. But don't you be giving yourself an inferiority complex now... :(
Buggy: It could end well if we end it well. Maybe that's a bit profound, but the point is that if all of us are the best people we can be, we can choose not to be led into an argument by someone having a temporary lapse of judgement, eh?
-

Its not necessarily intelligence, just a combination of political knowledge, levelheadedness, and eloquent communication. And effort put towards displaying those three traits in these forums. I don't find it offensive nobody voted for me, especially considering I try more to weigh in my opinion than convince others, and never have only really been up-to-date in politics a few times.
-
This won't end well if we choose to make it so.
I think that we are mature enough to handle 'losing' in a poll like this.
Am I wrong?
-
No, deagonx. But I don't understand your statement at the beginning. Might you be implying that we will choose to end this thread badly?
-
It will only end badly, if we choose to make it end badly.
-
You guys are all master-debators.
I'd say my only strength is being the one of the few who seems to acknowledge when they do/don't have a valid opinion, in which case I either cite my ignorance towards the topic, or just don't participate.
If I don't care about a topic, I don't particpate. If I find a topic interesting but don't know much about it, then I ask questions.
Please tell me that we aren't having a debate about who is the best debator.
-
Can you give us the option to change our votes?
-
Please tell me that we aren't having a debate about who is the best debator.
I'm glad to say "No," to that. We're just stating our opinions.
-
im2smart4you, evidently. Though he is COLD and MEAN, he is quite good at pointing mistakes out so directly.
Sorry for being so...eh...blatant, im2smart4u.

Please tell me thou didst not say what methinks thou didst just say.
-
He slips those in occasionally. Subtle fun right there.
-
Thank goodness nobody said me, I would have feared for our overall intellect.

What were you saying about me having an inferiority complex, DD?
-
the same as always

I couldn't help myself. :-[

Oh, I just got it. *Shocked*

I didn't. What?
-
Nothing, Buggy.
-
bug, say it aloud three times fast, loudly in a public area.
-
Wait. Was it supposed to be a compliment?
-
Okay! Why don't we end this conversation now, shall we? *Nervous Smile*

Thats a good idea.... he may as well hold on to his innocence until he hits high school
-
Okay... I just got it... Moving on... *akward smile*
-
after we tell you to stop, please... stop next time
-
Stop what?
Let's get back on topic.
-
Indeed. It was entertaining to see im2smart4u was at the top :D. And by the way, I'm back! :-[
-
welcome
-
Welcome back Cyper.
GCK: I'd still like to change my vote. Viewpoint are always shifting. Especially those about people. I may, one day, not want you and/or smarts to have my votes.

Oh lord. It took me a while...
-
Moving on... I'd like to be able to change my votes.
-
Its impossible for you to add a "allow users to change votes" option to a poll, you need a moderator to do that.
-
Someone called me?
If Game Crazy Kid wants, I'll turn on the option to change votes.
-
Eh, this thread has served its purpose. Despite it being a competitive, and hurtful purpose.
I'd prefer it just be left be. If you do not mind.
-
But what if someone's viewpoint changes and they want to change their vote?
-
Does it really matter?
No one knows who you casted your vote for, and you saying this now implies that you have a different selection even if they did know.
Everyone could have voted for Mike, but that doesn't mean he is a good debator. This is subjective to opinion.
I don't want it changed.
-
Look, no offense, Game Crazy, but we're the voters, and the majority has decided they wish to change their vote. I know it's your topic, but we're the ones voting and I think regardless we have the right to change our votes.

Yes. In a small community such as this one every vote counts.

Opinions change.
And why such strong aversion of allowing us to change our votes?
-
In these forums, it seems that the first poster has the ability to lock a thread. So, the way I see it, the first poster is more or less the "commander" of thread (I couldn't find a better word).
It seems that Game Crazy Kid wanted that the "photo" of the opinions wasn't changed. And since he wishes to be away for a while, I don't see the point in continuing this discussion.
Hence, if Game Crazy Kid don't want that option on, I will not turn it on. Nevertheless, you can make another thread discussing your current opinion, if you really think it's a useful topic to discuss here.
-
I'm sorry. You apparently don't understand the fact that when I posted that stuff about what's happening in 2012, I clearly stated, multiple times, that I don't remember where I saw it, I don't remember if it's all 100% accurate, and well that's pretty much it.
You either choose to ignore the fact that I mentioned that my information may not be accurate, and the source of such information is unknown, (frankly, I find it irrelevant on the grounds that this is a game based forum) or you, like others before you, are just obsessed with constantly throwing out everything I say or do on an intellectual level. In which case I say, welcome back Presentiment.
This is classic example on how not to be the "Best Debator". If you want to be a good debator, then you are going to want to use facts instead of baseless statements that sound like they might be true. Even if you feel like you are losing an argument, made sure to avoid childish namecalling and false accusations.

I don't know about everyone else, but I don't find it hurtful. Sure, I was called "hotheaded", "sarcastic", and "offensive", but that has been true on occasion. This topic also made happy that you guys are willing to appreciate my extensive knowledge despite my pigheadness.
Look, no offense, Game Crazy, but we're the voters, and the majority has decided they wish to change their vote. I know it's your topic, but we're the ones voting and I think regardless we have the right to change our votes.
I hold half the votes and I want the forumers to be able to change their votes even if it is to someone else. (I also want to change my vote because I feel like an asshole for voting for myself.)
-
To the three members who voted for me. (http://objection.mrdictionary.net/go.php?n=5109780)

Ahahaha, you're welcome.......and how exactly do you do that? Its pretty cool.
-
I haven't voted - I'm reluctant to pass judgement, though I'd say it depends on what you define as a good argument. Nonetheless, I'm interested to see the results - would somebody mind posting them so that I don't have to vote to see them?

Thanks for posting the scores, thanks not so much for putting me on a par with Namelesskitty as a debator.

Watch your words little one. For the one whom you wished to dissociate your skills from is rather adept at swaying crowds, the cat however is far less persuasive out of person. Remember this grasshopper things online are often quite unlike what they are in truth.
And stop being so mean :'(.
-
Know this, too, Cat-who-is-ever-so-holy. Commas help you sound convincing, especially on the internet.
