TPA2 / Is there a level-up guide?
February 21, 2013, 05:41:20 PM
Just wondering if there's any place on the wiki that says what the requirements are for each skill for each class, I'm wondering if I need to level up my elemental blasts for my psy fighters before they can learn the AOE ones, or if it's just something that becomes available at a higher psy power level.

Telepath Tactics (2015) / A concern about pace
February 12, 2013, 06:34:01 AM
Hey, I tried the demo, and I just wanted to voice a few concerns I've had about how the new system (compared to the telepath rpg and psy arena series) might have some problems that I feel need to be addressed.

First and foremost, the higher number of units and the larger map size have me concerned that navigating the battlefield will be tedious rather than streamlined, especially since you seem to have shifted to a final fantasy tactics style control scheme for moving units around. One of the biggest dangers that a tactical rpg has to avoid is having to manually move several units across a map when no enemies are in range. This was never a problem in the previous games, because the map was so small that there was pretty much constantly a battle going on. But the second level of the demo starts off with a huge number of units far away from any enemies.

Just adding some enemies on the other side would help, but it wouldn't address the larger problem. I feel there should be a streamlined method of moving large numbers of units automatically towards a certain location. A sort of "march" command, if you will, that lets you select any number of units, then select a destination, and possibly a general route you want them to follow.

Alternatively, you could make it so that all units have double the number of movement points per turn when no enemies are nearby, though I suspect that would be more problematic.

Just my humble suggestion, but I really really feel it's important that this issue is addressed soon, as it could be a huge problem in enjoying this game later.

no worries, just thought you should know about it.

TPA2 / bug: same-name units can't be used together.
February 09, 2013, 03:09:45 PM
Yeah, I encountered a bug where an assassin named byrd wound up making it impossible for me to use my psy fighter I got who was also named byrd. They both showed up when I cleared the team lineup, but when I put one in, the other vanished, and it was always the assassin one that got used.

TSoG / How do relationship values work?
February 08, 2013, 07:58:36 AM
I've never really angered anybody in the game, so I'm curious as to how relationship values work, and what the consequences/benefits are. Can anybody enlighten me?

TSoG / I named my hero Duvalier Duvalier :)
February 08, 2013, 07:32:38 AM
Thought it would be funny to name my hero Duvalier Duvalier, and it also means that it sounds like a lot of people are saying his first name in the voice acting :)

wow, thanks for replying! I didn't realize adding new characters took so much work. I figured it would just be a matter of making a portrait, working out the stats, and designing a dialogue tree for the main base. Is there something else I'm missing, or is that more work than I imagine it being?

TSoG / What I think of the game
February 06, 2013, 06:20:16 PM
Hey, finished Telepath RPG Servants of God yesterday, it was great, just a few minor criticisms:

1: After Rahel warms up to you, her dialogue options should change, because she still acts incredibly cold towards you after her warm greeting.

2: Halfway through the game, it started to feel a little small. Like, I felt there should have been more characters, like, it wouldn't have taken too much work and it would have added a lot to the size of the game. Currently you can use all but 3 of the game's characters at once, and so really I feel like I'm choosing which ones NOT to use, rather than which ones I SHOULD use.

TPA2 / Roguelike: Talk me out of it!
February 06, 2013, 09:17:43 AM
Hey, I'm just curious about the permadeath and surrendering system, how the point of surrendering is to cut your losses since death is permanent, but you can always just reload your save, can't you?

So I've gotten the idea into my head that I should play the game like a roguelike, where I can't reload saves to undo losses and I have to start over entirely if my hero dies...

But something tells me that would be a really REALLY painful way to play the game. Is there some other way I can think about the permadeath issue without feeling like I'm cheating by abusing the hero's non-permanent death compared to his teammates?

How many orbs can you use at once? I heard it's 2 in TRPG 2, is there a limit in this one?
#12
Warriors DO have psi using attacks, right? It's not a wasted opportunity to use a swordfighter as my player character?
#13
I see. I'll check the wiki to see what the orbs are. Thanks for the help!

TPA2 / Is the hero character stronger than the others?
February 05, 2012, 07:58:16 PM
Just curious, does the hero character have any advantage over hired units of the same class?

Thanks! I've downloaded it, this game is AWESOME!

...Though admittedly now I think I wish I had saved up to buy SoG. Online money tends to be slow in accumulating :(
