Telepath Tactics Bugs / Silhouetted sprites
August 17, 2015, 09:58:25 AM
In the battle with Ebon Raban, Emma and Sabrina's sprites have become black silhouettes. This was also the case in the shop screen immediately before the battle.

I am using the "no NPCs" mod; I have attached the map file in case that broke something.

See picture. Since "father" is used in place of a name here, it should be capitalized.
#23
Not sure if this counts as a "bug" or not, but in one scene, Archos says "thinks" when "think" would be correct.

The first time I played the Coria Bridge battle, Emma ended up getting slowed so many times that she could only move if she used Sprint. Since the victory condition requires that you move her to the exit, this made the battle needlessly tedious. The only way to reverse the effects of the slowed status is caffeine pills, which the player doesn't have access to at that point (unless it's one of the consumables that can drop in the foraging mission), so the player is completely helpless against this new mechanic -- and one that is pretty punishing at that, since unlike any other status effect, the effects can stack. I think it would make sense if players could purchase caffeine pills earlier, such as the Gonif shop right before the trip to Coria, as that would allow them to better prepare for and react to the onslaught of skiakineticists. Giving Farasat an ability that negates slow, like the status-curing abilities for other psy fighters, would also accomplish this.

I made a hard save at the forest battle in the campaign, but the game refuses to load it; when I try, it just brings me straight back to the campaign screen. One time it saved as "random level", but it's usually correctly labelled as "Forest".

The autosave works fine, though.

Telepath Tactics Bugs / Louise's ghost (post-fortress)
August 16, 2015, 08:13:22 AM
In the cutscene before the "gather apples" battle, Louise appears even if she died previously.

(Emma also says "What were you all doing while I was gone" even if Sabrina is the only other party member left.)

See attached picture. Fera was defeated in the previous battle, if that matters.

Telepath Tactics Bugs / Fera has infinite energy.
August 15, 2015, 03:27:23 PM
In the "escape the fortress" battle, Fera's energy seems to be permanently set at 17. She doesn't lose energy when using Lunge, or gain any when standing still.

After Emma infiltrates the fortress and goes upstairs, there's a "meanwhile" scene at the camp where Teresa and Phoebe are introduced. Sabrina's portrait does not appear in this scene for me. She and Emma are the only party members alive, so Sabrina didn't have the scene with Scarlet, which might be a factor.

This is very much a nitpick, but in the cutscene where Gunther leads Emma to Bloodbeard's fortress, he says "Suppose [Bloodbeard's guards] see me strolling on up with a dozen strangers?" in reference to Emma's entourage. This line is unchanged regardless of how many party members you actually have, however. I feel like it'd be nice if the dialogue was tweaked slightly if the party was sufficiently diminished (say, 3 or 4 people), though this is by no means necessary of course.

In the Defend the Camp battle, a swordsman died by walking into an iron jaw trap, and the game is now stuck in an hourglass cursor.
#32
In Battle with Gunther, Emma broke her practice sword on a counterattack, but she retained the +20 accuracy boost and -1 strength penalty. These changes reverted in the next battle.
#33
Normally, Gunther and his three soldiers start to advance on the party after a few turns, but the last few times I've played Battle with Gunther that hasn't happened. I surrendered or quit to restart the battle a few times, which might have something to do with it.

Telepath Tactics (2015) / Fullscreen scaling settings
August 12, 2015, 06:35:51 PM
Fullscreen scaling seems to be set to on by default, and resets if I restart the program. I was wondering if there was a way to turn it off by default.

In the Adelbrae battle, I purposefully sent Louise to her death in the first round, but she didn't drop a death monologue when things proceeded as expected. Neither did Farasat on the second round. They gives death messages just fine all the other times I've played, though; I think the fact that it happens so early has something to do with it? Louise died before the tip about how the Striders need to be kept alive, and Farasat died before the tip about damage fall-off.

Edit: Aaand I just remembered I set that save file to casual mode. That's probably why. Sorry for wasting everyone's time.

(Characters really don't get death messages in casual? Man, casual players are missing out.)

See picture. This is after I bought a helm, boots, and a shield for Sabrina, which I all equipped. I think I transferred one of her bandages to Emma, also.
#37
Scarlet Etolie speaks in the cutscene after the caravan battle even if she dies. I didn't talk to her, so she died while she was still on the "green" side, if that matters.
#38
After the early town defense mission, everyone except Louise died. In the post-battle cutscene, her portrait didn't disappear after her message, and ended up overlapping with Emma's.

Telepath Tactics (2015) / Strider-only run
August 07, 2015, 04:48:38 PM
I've been thinking of trying a minimalist run where I kill off all non-essential party members and try to make it through the game with just the Strider sisters. Given the permadeath mechanic, it's something that could theoretically happen to a very incautious player, so I'd like to see just how viable it is. It'd also be interesting to see how the story is affected (though I imagine it would just make things a lot more boring :p).

I just did a test run myself, but I forgot that the town defense battle ended after a few rounds, so I was left with severely underleveled Striders for the caravan battle, and couldn't win. The only plan I can think of is to abuse the crap out of Pull and grind until my eyes fall out in the first battle against the two bandits. Has anyone tried this before? Any tips?

In the training mission, the tooltip tells you to move Emma on the first turn. If you ignore this and end the turn immediately, Silithis never gives Emma the sword, so she can't attack. Silithis' dialogue is also a bit weird; she attacks after saying she's going to give Emma a bandage, for instance. I think the sequence skips a step so the dialogue is always one pace ahead of the action, or something like that.
