TSoG Wish List / Re: quest ideas

The psy academy could easily be a part in the main storyline, and I'm pretty sure Craig already has the story laid out.

Leave the psy arena battles to the psy arena games, and that would slow down production of the game a lot.

i gave the idea of tasdidian having dark atacks to make him more threatening and none knows his true health or speed because its hidden when you fight him so i took a guess
what else would happen to a shadowling when it dies
why not put him in a crypt they got spirits of all sorts of other things and there needs to be a good fight in this one

First of all, spirits use cold attacks, and your going to give a spirit shadow attacks? Even though he originally used light?

if luca cant remember her husbands name and azma cant even remember the debt of fizooz than tasdidian might have forgotten what the old hero looks like. spirits have terrible memmorys

They have good enough memorys to even remember what Fizooz looked like, even though hes a spirit and looks different. Either way, he could just scan you to figure out.

Thing is, the Main in TRPG 1&2 is never specifyed as a male or female at all.

Craig has already done something important with him. He caused misdirection so you could rescue your parents.

General Discussion / Re: Why cheat?

I cheat, and play on easy, after beating it without cheating on brutal, simply to skip through the storyline looking for bugs. plus, you gotta make sure there's no bugs with the cheats.^^
One thing, if you beat the game on brutal, you should already know the bugs, so why if you already know? As for bugs with the cheats, the only bug they can have is not working, or doing something wrong. Both in which you would be totally oblivious to.

So far, KZ is the only one to come up with incredible points on why people should cheat. He makes a ton of sense on why they are there, and it makes sense. The only thing is, there may be just as many pros and cons about cheating. So far this is what I have:

Pros:

1) Helps with testing.
2) Lets the game attract a wide variety of people.
3) Some do almost nothing.
4) Allows attempts at new tactics.
5) Occasionally helps self esteem.

Cons:

1) Takes away challenge sometimes, making some people get bored and quit.
2) Usually the self esteem is false belief, which if noticed, will cause a bigger drop than gain.
3) Some make the game whiz by so fast, the player doesn't know whats going on (experience, I have cheated before).
4) A few people will know how to hack or glitch it no matter how hard you try, those people don't need it.
5) Slows down game progress by making more programming for it.
6) May affect the game in unkown, unintended ways.

And that is what I have collected. I will just edit this post if anything comes by to add on to it. The most important pro is 2, and con is 1.

TRPG1 / Re: Is Noctus alive?
February 22, 2010, 06:04:08 PM
The only thing Noctus failed at was David's protection. Otherwise, he had a bonemask and he got Tastiadan knowing about the Main.

I think that would be an interesting add-on to TRPGSog. Watch the voting, to see how popular the idea might be.

I remain undecided, what are your reasons behind saying that Zhamphir.

im2smart4u has a point. Most shadowlings already look like ghosts. And Tastiadan could easily tell you weren't the main character from the first 2, they wore a black cape and had red hair. On the other hand, the main character in TRGPsog has a brown cape and black hair. How could the two be mixed up? Plus Tastiadan uses light attacks, as said earlier by me, defending one of my ideas I realized how crappy it was way to late.

Not quite the full experience, it lacks the challenge that some games (namely TRPG games) are suppose to have.

It seems that you are looking for an upgrade to the shadow bug, sort of how a sniper is an upgrade from a marksman. In that cases, void bug would seem more fitting, since the void bug would not necessarily have to guard a nest.
Guardian bugs can be anywhere, to intercept attackers or the whatnot, they don't have to stay next to the nest.

And KZ, why not just make a guardian and a void bug. To me, void bug sounds like it would actually use dark vortex or shadow blast. But I suppose making both of them would be confusing, since everything only usually has one upgrade. And putting both in would delay the game longer.

TSoG / Re: Spirits Return

For Azma, it depends, but that would be a really good plot twist. Make a mandatory spirit boss, that you have to fight about 5 times over again (the spirit getting better each time). I would depend for Azma because you don't have to kill him, you can tell him a false name, or tell him his real name if you ask his name twice. High aptitude or personality needed (I really don't know which).

Zhamphir and Yogc, you have brought up good points, but if you beat the game about ten times, why cheat? They have easy mode so you can go fast. I suppose it does help for testing though.

And Zhamphir, they would kill the boss in one mindblast, but then they might get to the point of trying without, and then failing (they would be too used to cheating). But I suppose I am a rare person that thinks cheating is stupid.
