(BTW, I've actually spoken with Derek Landy when hewas doing a book signing. And, like, not just a 'hi'. It turns out he didn't plan on Skulduggery's head to be important and he got the idea of true names from ancient times. I think he said it was from Gaelik times but I'm not sure.)

It was fairly obvious that he hadn't planned to make the head significant (At least, to me) by the rather clumsy way he re-introduced it: 'He had filled in the gaps later'. I mean, if it had been his original intention, he would have had Skullduggery actually 'fill in the blanks' throughout the books.
