I know that all those orbs are very exciting to search for, and that it took a long time before all of them was collected. But somehow, it still feels meanless. I mean, when you have collected them all, nothing really happens. I think that in SoG, there should be a big secret if you find them all. Do you agree?

Not really the orbs are award enough since they can give you resistance and new abilities. I dont think there should be a big secret giving however your right about collecting the orbs it is fun.
mock the pheonix you will burn

Yes, it´s very fun. But those elements and extra attacks are in fact not so important. If you choose the right ones before each battle, it will only affect one charachter, so they don´t make so much sense. It would be much better if they can do something more, something that really matters. It doesn´t need to be somethink on the battlefield, maybe they unlock a secret area instead. As it feels now, the seaching was greater than actually having them.

Maybe if you collected all the orbs, you could give some to your teammates since the hero already has more than enough for himself.
...For I am his, and he is mine, bought by the precious blood of Christ.

Anyone want to find the rest of the words?

MikeW781

i think if you collect all the ords, the abilities of the orbs yo have equipped should be given to everybody on your team...
It might be a little cheap, especially with resistance orbs, so maybe only certain orbs could be used for this, and would have a smaller effect.
OR
Collecting all orbs will yield the appearance of Malignus in a certain area.

I like my second idea better

Wouldn't having access to all the powers of every orb be enough of a reward?

MikeW781

well, I think it would be like TRPG2, where by my later playthroughs I only ever went after the crimson (pyro hail), white (light res), blue (cold res), and black (shadow res). The fire resistance, big shield, 9 speed, and focus orbs were hard to get, and not worth it to me personally.

But in TRPG2, one can only use one effect orb at a time.  That is not the case in TSoG.  One can collect and use multiple orbs, so one benefits from collecting orbs.

but there are still going to be more orbs than slots, so most people will only collect the orbs they want

Why not have an orb you can only find after collecting the others; some kind of ultimate orb?

Ertxiem

One ring to rule them all. :)

What about if there were a special area accessible only if we placed all of the orbs in their correct place. A sort of a puzzle that we had to decipher the clues regarding the places of the orbs. I liked of the idea of finding Malignus in that place.
Or perhaps KZ found that place and he's now locked inside and can't come back here. :D

But you wouldn't use the same four orbs for every battle?  A useful orb combination for one mission might not be useful in another mission.  That is why it is good to have multiple orbs.  Plus, the better orbs will come as the game progresses, so you will use the least desirable orbs in the beginning and the more desired orbs in the end.

Duskling

Ertxiem's and Steelfist's ideas are good, maybe if you can combine them? As in, there is a door, and there is a puzzle to open it with the orbs (like the soul puzzles in Harvester), and behind the door is some kind of ultimate orb, one that can amplify your team, maybe give them all 5 upgrades (as in what they need to train powers) including you?

Dorgon 5000

I don´t like abilities for rewards, I like easter eggs that unlocks new areas better. In Saira, the easter eggs are places, and that is far more intresting than character upgrades.

The appearance of Magnilus/CraigStern (or maybe just SinisterDesign) might be kinda cool.
