I said "No," because there is virtually no evidence that they could be related other than the fact that they are Shadowlings.

That is possible, but it's also possible that a long time ago, it was mentioned. Where did the assumption come from if it wasn't said somewhere? I don't see why someone would make that assumption if Craig didn't mention it.

So, Craig never said that Malis is related to anyone (or at least he doesn't remember it).

So, we can speculate! :)

I'll go back to my theory that Malis could be a relative of Thallion, the gem merchant, because she is also a skilled bargainer.

Of course it's still possible that she's related to Shadowboxer and Darkling. Or even that she's not related to anyone we know.
