Works fine for me. Maybe the old forums were down... again... temporarily?

Likewise, Zackirus, I hope this makes into the main game, but we'll have to wait and see. The initial reaction was positive w.r.t. Craig saying that the dialogue seemed interesting.

General Discussion / Re: What is ranking all about?

Just for a bit of fun: the more posts you get outside the in-forum games section, the higher "rank" you'll obtain. In theory, you'll do this by writing quality posts, so there will be a bit more respect to those members who manage to achieve the higher ranks (ie writing many high quality posts) and also get some satusfaction from achieving the said high rank. It's all for a bit of fun, really.

I politely ask for the hill. Impressed by my politeness you hand me over the hill.
My hill.

TSoG Wish List / Re: Shadowling Healer Teammate
March 19, 2010, 09:29:40 PM
I was thinking about that as well. I think the main issue might be with Craig wishing to make more in-depth characters, and that means spending quite a lot of time in coming up with good, believable and unique dialogue for a new teammate: from the look of things,  I am not sure if Craig would want to do that now.

Although Shadowling Healer has those differences, they are in the same niche with Set (they have 3 attacks in common, out of max of 6, and their purpose is the same).
Again, I wouldn't mind having another healer in the game, and one who can, for once, attack! But something tells me that might be difficult to achieve.

TSoG Wish List / Re: Shadowling Healer Teammate
March 19, 2010, 09:21:39 PM
Usually I am all up for it, but here it seems that there is focus on only one healer, and that is Set. I personally wouldn't mind having an extra Shadowling Healer, but I don't really see how he or she will be introduced at the moment, given that Craig has pretty much deciced on the remaining teammates, and said numerous times of really differentiating between the niches for each teammate- this position will overlap too much with Set's.

Also, who are the others you mention in your statement?

Lovely!
What of theories? There were a few on the old forums! (You know, rather than random name addition, some wacky theory as to how those two letters cropped up.)

But both of you found Festus useful, right?

Personally, I leveled up Shadowboxer enough for him to be able to fire off 2 Dark Vortexes by the early mission 7, without the need to re-gain PsP.
As for Darkling, I also discounted him pretty early on, whilst Niven I trained up: with strenth and Psy Power, his Trick Shot could easily deal 50 backstab damage by mission 6-7.

And why did you decide to discard the Shadowlings? (Curious whether you were driven by same reasoning.)

TSoG Wish List / Re: New attacks for teammates
March 19, 2010, 08:52:25 PM
Has he now? I do remember that the speed-reduction is the one that is very difficult to code, but I don't recollect him saying anything about strength-reducing attacks. (After all, it doesn't affect how the AI should behave, which is a big plus.)
What I do remember is that he initially planned to introduce them for TPA2, but, ostensibly, wanted to speed up the release of TPA2, hence decided to omit them at a later stage.

-if you let Griffin die in the first prison-break battle, then, after you are victorius, the newly added screen with "first-kill" dialogue still appears, followed by the old waling-down-passageway, except that Griffin and Duvalier keep walking on spot, with the background not moving, then the diaogue insues, followed by the second battle, where only the Hero fights the Bandits, after win, the duo walk again on the same spot for a few dialogue options, then start moving and arrive at the place where Rahel stands, normal dialogue follows, then 3rd battle without Griffin

-same goes if Griffin dies after the second battle: the cut-scene where he and Duvalier talk to Rahel appears, however, after winning the second battle, all goes back to normal- the next cut-scene is done without Griffin and the last prison-break battle also appears without him

-if both Rahel and Griffin are killed in battle 3, then the next cut-scene goes with Duvalier walking on the same spot in bottom-left corner, then dialogue text appearing, with both Griffin and Rahel participating, then the next cut-scene comes up: in it, only Set, Arman and Duvalier are walking normally along the corridor (with Grffin and Rahel gone), but Griffin and Rahel still participate in the dialogue, but are absent in the insuing battle

-during mission 1, the first dialogue with Luca, when she explains why a spirit must speak its name, the sentence is cut off at "that is why we must always repeat our"

-during the cut-scene after the first battle with spirits in the cellar, the music doesn't loop and re-start

I believe someone has suggested killer zebra before, in the old forums.
I have to admit that back in the day folks were a tad more imaginative in their interpretations. :P

TSoG / Re: Who is your favourite teammate?

I would probably go with Arman: he is fast and can strike down any inconveniently-positioned enemy, or make a last-ditch effort to change a situation before the end of my turn.
