Not sure if this should be in "Politics," but this is less about politics and more about just keeping people informed.

This only applies to the English Wikipedia, at least at the moment.

We've all heard about it, the 2012 doomsday theory, what do you think about this? Will we all die next year, or is this just another Y2K?

Has anyone noticed the huge number of Guests today? I mean, right now, there are 53, and I think the number is rising every time I refresh the page... I don't mean to sound paranoid, just that it is a rare occasion to have this much activity on the forum, even if it is from Guests. Also, I would've done this as a post, but there was no thread I could post in without necroposting, which is why I created this thread, which most will think is meaningless.

What government type do you support? Democracy, Republic, something else? If I were to pick a government type, it would be Communism, not the Leninism/Stalinism Communism with those dictators, but the theoretical, working Communism, i.e., everyone is equal, no social classes, nobody is out of anybody's league, etc.

As a side, please do not criticize other people's government choices, you can point out what's wrong with Communism if you like (go wild, im2smart4u), but no lashing out at other people simply because of what they believe in.

Believe it or not, this is another RP story, but it's more of a miniature RP, as it isn't about an entire world. Warning: The contents of this story may be overly cliche for most people.

Prologue

In April, 2004, a top secret underground military installation in Ukraine has suddenly gone quiet and lost contact. The last decipherable message from the compound was from the head scientist, Dr. Sergey Ivanovich Virkov, on March 23^rd, 2004, stating that everything was either going well or mostly well before the messages turned to crazed mumblings of an unknown scientist who seemed to have thought that the communications center was a journal log, shortly before contact was lost altogether. Two weeks later a group of international special forces soldiers would be dispatched to investigate after a team of soldiers didn't report back after being sent inside the complex. The Ukrainian government is planning to destroy the facility if the other team of soldiers doesn't return, as to not allow any evidence of the experiments that were brewing inside to the public in any way, as they fear the effect of this getting out into the public would cause a problem for the government far greater than the Chernobyl project ever did.[/spoiler]

[spoiler=Rules]1. Do not use offensive language unless in dialogue, but try to keep even that at a minimum.
2. Do not try to offend anyone's country or any country in general.
3. While the other RPs were against character control, this one is a bit different, since we are working as a team most of the time, so tactics, battles, and some conversations (as long as they portrait the other team members accurately) can have character control.
4. No team members get killed unless they agree to it (this would be part of character control, but this should be stressed).
5. Have correct grammar (at least understandable will do).
6. Make sense when you write, as in, don't spoil dramatic or eerie sequences by making a monster or something jump out of nowhere, unless that's what the moment is about.[/spoiler]

Does Niven happen to be named after David Niven, a British WWII soldier who was an aspiring actor? I thought so because they were both a form of actor, Niven a performer, and David Niven would be an actor.

Well, at least now we have direct confirmation of a next Telepath game from the very source. The question, however, is "Will it be like TSoG?" as in, "Will we have to pay for it?"

I was just surfing through the dictionary (it's what I do when I'm bored), and noticed the word "Malignant." After seeing that word, Malignus instantly came to mind. Some synonyms for the word would be "Evil," "Cruel," and "Malevolant," to name a few. Was it intentional, as he didn't seem very evil in the very sense of the word. Discuss.
