I own Homeworld from back when it first came out--I only recently decided to reinstall it. With a bit of tinkering, you can get it to run on Windows 7 without a hitch. You can still find Homeworld on Amazon quite inexpensively. (I don't know why they're not selling this game on GOG or Steam--it'd probably do quite well.)

Once you've gotten through the first game, I strongly recommend nabbing Homeworld: Cataclysm and Homeworld 2. All of them are excellent, and I intend to Let's Play all of them. :)

Homeworld is a great game! In every aspect. (I recall playing it at a friend's place when it came out.)
Ert, the Dead Cow.
With 2 small Mandelbrot sets as the spots.

I have been inspired. I shall be getting a job this summer and TPA2 and Homeworld are now on my hit list. I don't wanna watch the rest of your series although I know I will.

Random thing: apparently the Homeworld IP was owned by THQ, and is now floating through space like so much asteroid debris: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/02/27/homeworlds-for-sale-and-supreme-commander-too/

Here's hoping that someone picks it up and re-releases it on GOG.com!
