Usernames starting with P

I've noticed that spammers and flamers and agitatators often start thwir usernames with P this is called the "P brain effect" and is still being researched, any thoughts?

well, I like it, and besides that's two thirds of the total, one could at least make a case for the likelihood of being a bad user if your username starts with P, or maybe if you are a bad user you will start your name more often with P, I'm trying to think of which way it goes.

I don't really think that's true. To name one regular, we also have PinkPanzer (perhaps if a name has two P the bad effect cancels out :P)
I don't think that a generalization like that is fair. Take a look at the usernames that start with P. Not most of them are spammers.

Then it must be that bat users gravitate to P names, while the rest are just coincidence.

(Most of the are not) spammers.

That's true, in fact, the only forum member whose username starts with a P and has a significant post count is PinkPanzer, and he didn't get there by spamming. The others, they participate every once in a while, maybe not too often, but they definitely do not spam. So I believe it's safe to assume that their username choices were just a coincidence.
