So I'm gonna make a new RP since there aren't any active ones at the moment, but I have some questions first.

First of all, should I post the RP in this part of the forum, and if not here, where?
Then I'd like to know what kind of an RP do you guys want. Any suggestions are welcome and taken. If possible, I'd like to create a whole new world and "magic" for this world, so we can create everything by ourselves, and don't have to follow specific rules. Of course there ARE rules to the RP but I hope you get what I mean by this. ^^" Anyways, please post your suggestions so we can start the new RP as fast as possible  ;)

Okay:

1. Take a leaf out of Apocalyptic's book: Factions. I think I overcomplicated that one, so keep it to 5-6 major ones max.

2. Try to create a map. It's difficult to navigate an entirely new world without one.

3. As for magic, well, try to make it a large range, and maybe allow people to create their own special powers.

4. Ban Rainen from using Rainen. Just look at NoHR. HE DID THAT!

bugfartboy

I agree with Steelfist on 1-3 but I'm not so sure about 4. And on 3, try to make a rule where the obviously god like powers have limits on them so that we don't have a couple hundred cities/towns destroyed by one person using "Then I threw a mountain at SuchandSuchaName for very little power. Yay me!!!" Do you get my meaning?

Steelfist

Believe me, number four is valid.

Kaseke

Rule number one... No god-like powers shall be granted...
Rule number two... Rainen is banned from using Rainen...

Kayyyyyy.... But I'm more like asking about the world, what kind of a world should it be. I'll be able to do "the rules" by myself. Just what kind of a world do you like. The rules can be disgussed later.

I would like it to be a Telepath world, probably in the Shadow Wars time, or the pre-history of the Telepath world. But that is just my opinion...

I have an idea of where a major region could be!!! How about a made up region that doesn't belong to te Telepath World or Earth but is very similar to the Antarctic. All the intelligent life could be divided into small tribes (Factions! Haha!) and those with mastery over fire (Conjuration and direction/redirection) would be the prized jewels of the tribe they belong to as they would supply heat and light for the tribe as well as major defensive offense against raids. Also, those with mastery over ice and water would be slightly less prized but useful as they could construct great walls of ice and create traps of icy spikes and giant holes in case of attack. Technology would be rather unadvanced. There would also be a small island farther north in which the temperature is higher and technology is farther advanced but magic is scarce, making it (in essence) the opposite of the main body of land and ice. What do you think?

Steelfist

Zack: I'd prefer a new universe. Telepath is limited in terms of RPing potential, and we've pretty much used it up.

Fyre: Not bad. Maybe different tribes could specialise in different disciplines?

bugfartboy

That's what I was thinking. But the pyromasters and cryomasters are the basics that every tribe would aspire to have for survival. Except for the northern island that is.

Zackirus

Antarctic Thing: It is a good start. However, I don't think we should call them Cryo(Pryo)masters because it is not the Telepath world

I think that the elders of the different tribes would have to elect and teach several (I'm just suggesting names here) Torames (Fire/Light Makers) and Aquates (Water/Ice Controlers) and perhaps Mectores (Healers and Doctors). Those would be the (main types) magic in the world. The tribes that lived in the inner part of the ice world, would have a harder time getting food, but might be able to dig to reach ore deposits (and heat from the planets core), while the people who lived near the ocean, would have an easier time getting food (as they have fish to catch) but would have less minerals and such (they would make what they wear out of Kelp and other sea things). I think that the people would lived near the ocean would have better control of water and that people who lived in the inner parts of the continent would have better control of fire. What does everyone think?
I guess the Telepath is was a bit over done, but hey: TTA was good and their was no issues with it.

I was actually thinking a total of five factions. The Iylspar (Islanders), the Yemino, the Taronte, the Asparez, and the Kimones. Those are the basic tribes. Each tribe actually consists of many small clans.

Tribes
Iylspar
The Iylspar have almost completely forgotten how to use magic or that it even exists but a few of them who have minor talents that aren't even really worth anything. Rather than magic similar to the other clans, the Ilyspar have developed basic technologies such as basic alloys. And at the start of the RP, they would have no clue about Panjorew.
Yemino
The Yemino are the main occupants of Panjorew, the continent that most of the tribes live on, and have a moderate knowlege of most magics. The clans of the Yemino more united together than the other tribes, though still divided. They prefer to keep to themselves with very little interaction with the rest of the world, meaning that they are talented in defensive magics, some of which are no more than major reinfluences to prevent attacks in the first place.
Taronte
The Taronte are very poor and considered the "scum of the earth" by the other tribes. They are constantly bickering amongst themselves. Their magic is very powerful, but at a great cost to themselves. They use blood and life sacrifices (the most gruesome of which involving the murder of newborn children) to call down great storms, plagues and other devastating magics upon enemy clans.
Asparez
The Asparez have peaceful relations with most of the other tribes and like it that way. They are spread out pretty thinly across the land and offer their services for healing when they can. However, they are not mercenaries, are very moral, and avoid killing and helping someone kill (even when threatened by death).
Kimones
The Kimones are the "evil" tribe. Their main body is not seperated into clans and is mainly military. They are egocentric and violent, wanting to command all of Panjorew. They are more technologically advanced than every tribe other than the Iylspar. They have no real magic specialty but they can use the magics they know with utter mastery and cruelty.

So what do you think? RP worthy?

Duskling

In terms of creating a new RP: it seems that just about everyone forgot about Heaven Quest, the sequel to Hell Quest. Whether it was forgotten or condemned I'm not sure, but it looks like we could still revive it, I mean, why not?

Steelfist

Maybe. Let's pursue this first.

When it comes to powers, perhaps every person's magic could manifest in varying strength's and types? Perhaps it should have something to do with an artefact underground that causes particular types of magic to manifest more commonly in a particular area (This could be a useful thing to obtain)? Or perhaps it has something to do with ancestry, as marrying outside tribe could be forbidden, meaning that their magic remains pure without other's genetics in the mix.

In addition, I would like an 'outcast' tribe. They could have been exiled for various reasons from different tribes, banded together, and became nomads. Due to the travelling/mixed ancestry they can produce . . . quirks. Many children do not survive birth, but those who do could be gifted with strange and unusually strong powers. They are shunned by other tribes and often killed on sight.

bugfartboy

When I thought of the Taronte, I was actually thinking the same thing you just said. Poor, constantly at war with themselves and with mixed magical abilities in their genes. You stated that which I hadn't. Good job your Steeliness.

Steelfist

Thank you. I feel that a nomad tribe would really add to the depth of this RP, and the Taronte aren't quite right for it. Blood and murder is one thing, this is quite another. In addition, many of those who survive birth could be driven insane.

As for a name: Naraka.
