However, your universe is extremely unstable, a brane collision causes it to collapse, and the hill is inexplicably transported back to its original location. As I am the one who was able to explain to the public what happened, I am given the hill as a token of appreciation.

My hill.

I hire a crack team of lawyers, who do some digging and discover that the hill is zoned as a residential area only, and you failed to apply for a variance when constructing your theme park. They take you to court, sue the pants off you, and have you evicted from the hill. They then construct a flawless legal defense of the hill.

My hill.

I send an army of machete-wielding samurais to cut off steelfist's head, causing you to fall off, and him to die. I then station my samurais on guard. My hill.

Wish granted, it came... and was made of pudding.

I wish I had enough money to order a psp.

Wish granted, its now so, so, so, so, so deep, and you drown in it.

I wish the National Guard would stop sending me recruiting mail.

As for the tree being uncovered or not, I suppose uncovered in full would help a bit, but as you said, that's anyone's preference. I was also thinking that perhaps the tree could branch at more than one point, but I do see your point(s) about the tactics emphasis. I was also thinking that perhaps a cross-character dependent skill tree would be an interesting twist. That is, character x would be unable to learn a certain skill until character y learned a certain skill. If laid out right, this could add a really interesting aspect to the strategy of training up characters.

What actionscript version did you use for tsog? (just curious).

Sorry, guess I should have worded myself more clearly. I kind of just listed those games as general examples. I do see you point, craig, and I for the large majority I agree with you. It just seems somewhat frustrating at times to:
 a) not be able to see the skill possibilities

and b) have little customization of skill set

I think that perhaps having the skills laid out as you level up would allow for some forethought as to how to level up the characters. Also, perhaps a skill chart with cross-character dependency would also add to the interdependent tactics feel of the game. Just a thought.

If you look at the map editor, the spriggats are in there already.
The formulated enemies ideas therad is for those proposals that were extensively discussed and generally agreed upon in the "new enemy ideas" thread.

apologies there, meant to post that in the other thread. And that's odd, because I guess I just never noticed the spriggat page in the map editor until today. I'll go spend some time removing my foot from my mouth now...

I think a spriggat set (already in tprpg2) would really round out the map editor nicely, and would add more diversity to the psy enemies. They could just be copied from tprpg2 (stats here are taken from the game).

Red Spriggat

Health: 38
Speed: 3
Attacks: Fire Breath (Range: 1-2, Damage: 10)
Resistance: Heat

White Spriggat:

Health: 60
Speed: 3
Attacks: Frost Breath (Range: 1-2, Damage: 9), Big Shield (Range: Square (including self), Healing: 24)
Resistance: Cold

Dark Spriggat:

Health: 75
Speed: 3
Attacks: Dark Breath (Range: 1-3, Damage: 15)
Resistance: Shadow

TSoG Wish List / Hero skill system
« on: February 08, 2010, 02:17:06 PM »
Although I love the game, tsog doesn't seem to have a very complex skill system for the hero. I do appreciate the leveling up system, but the skill set seems to simplified. Games such as Sonny 1 & 2, and Sinjid: Shadow of the Warrior both have more complex skill trees, and I think a similar tree or a more comprehensive skill set would give players a wider range of options in developing their character. Any ideas on this?
