TSoG Wish List / Re: New Orb Ideas

I also don't "nays" should count unless you give a reason behind it.
We count both the "yay" and the "nays", nomatter what reason is given- be that emotional (for some reason a "yay I like it" counts without question - the reverse should also be counted then) or otherwise.
'Cause what you propose in the real world is called "election rigging".

Fine, folks- can you kindly re-vote on the mental resistance orb.

I vote "yay" with a clause I mention in the previous post.

I agree with im2smart4u in terms of enemy speed- that will require a lot of coding by Craig, which makes chances of the enemy getting into the game quite slim ab initio.

Not sure about the cat- would it really fit that nicely into a square?

Yet another idea, proposed by me, to add something interetsing to the melee enemy units set, for instance, the Helenites (the ykey feature is the Whirlwind attack, which will prevent enemies being incircled, less the player goes for one-turn kill, and can deal a lot of damage to most of player's formations):

Helenite Captain
Health: 40
Speed: 3
Attacks: Melee (Range: 1; Damage: 12), Whirlwind (Range: Omnidirectional; Damage: 10)
Resistance: none
Immunity: none

Well, ok, you persuaded me:  I'll go with "yay" then on this one, but in that case, I'd couple that to all attacks becoming classified, so there is not a single attack which remains un-classed- otherwise there will be voids which are hard to explain.

(Tig- "aerial" class, in terms of   a gas clowd? Or simply, hopefully, physical.)

So, she fires arrow simultaneously, but in different directions?
She has a single string on her bow, actually.

The only way I see it working is that if the attack area is changes such that it is a composite of 2 attacks which she already knows- this way, she might be able to use the Gift to simply perform two attacks very fast- like Griffin with 2 melee attacks making Double Strike.

Mmm, so far I am not convinced by the explanation, sorry! Maybe change the attack area somehow?

OK, im2smart4u- removed the irrelevant posts. I kinldly ask no one else to comment on that second part of the statement. Thank you.

Off-topic and potentially inflammatory. Let's simply NOT bring up this subject in numerous threads, then this might cool off in the meantime.

Ok, "Twin Slash" and "Shadow Clones" got 1/5 and 0/4 support, so methinks they shall be dropped for now.
(Voted nay in both cases- twin slash might be good for an animal, not for griffin. Shadow Clones will likely require tampering with the code and there are attacks which are pretty similar.)

Arrow Storm: I am still not decicded until a viable explanation is given to the attack.
I can see the attack coming in two waves, but not three- that's just too much to do in one turn, methinks.

Maybe because I kindly asked to move on in this section and expand the data under srutiny, but that doesn't mean to say the issue is settled- I merely voiced my opinion. And I would like to remind you that your statement is factually wrong in all parts: not all the time people agree with me and move on, they do come back to the same issues, then people do reject ideas I suggest or I support, and not everyone is ok with arguing with you, as is evidenced by numerous little forays into temper-rising arguments over the last year and a bit. I am trying to solve the issue here, by proposing a view that is backed up by explanations which might convince some, but people can argue the issue further, naturally. However, I do offer extra thoughts and ideas to talk about, should the folks not wish to pursue the topic that lead to the initial disagreement. And methinks that's a good way to do it.

In any case, let's see if we can be more constructive here along the lines of:
"
Now, can we look at other factors which people might want to see on their lists, and, if you have the time, give an explanation (unless it's purely aesthetical, simply on emotional like/disklike level) as to how/why you chose certain suggestions over others? Thanks!"

Well, methinks it's worth supporting those suggestions that you personally like, thus producing the statistics we work with- after all, we are all part of the group which, thanks to Craig, has some (limited) influence over what goes into TSoG. And some great ideas we have come up with over time, methinks ;)

The issue I have with the mental orb is that there are several unclassified attacks in the wiki, including the Tig, which make it ambigous as to how they should be classed- I suspect that it was simply an omission during production of TPA2, but either way, I'd rather first see all attacks classed, then see an orb which might apply to some of them. Otherwise, I don't mind it too much, but certainly prefer all the other ideas that eventually got formulated over it.

Ok, just to let you know folks, this time I am going places- taking a tour of a country for the next 2 weeks, and I don't know how often, if at all, I'll be logging on, but rest assured I'll be there as a Guest, reading, watching... ;)

And nope, I didn't edit that post.

Let's stay on topic, folks! Some people simply love the repetition, though the sentence under scrutiny is in the land of the ludicrous ;)
Pretending there are no "awesomes" in this sentence- then I can simply say thanks and hope others will apply the message to themselves as well.

Right, folks!
The Helenite Captain goes trhough with 9 "yay"s! Thanks folks!

The Mechanic major is not likely to make the cut: so far we have 4 no and 2 yes.
I suggest the idea is either dropped, or somehow changed/re-presented in some other forum if it is to stand a chance, methinks.

Personally, I am all for the reconstruction bonds idea: it adds variety, though anoter variable will have to be given instead of mission completion for it. Reason why it might as well remain on the list: Craig has everything, the code, the graphics, the structure, all set in place, effectively, thus he won't have to come up with this whole thing from scratch, therefore it may not take too long to do.

Right, folks, let's keep it cool here- sometimes we agree with each other's ideas, sometimes not. Sometimes most of the time 2 users would disagree, but there is no reason to become ad-hominem. Duckling- let's relax a little- you have covered your basis for misinterpretation, im2msart4u- can you please add more context to your quotes (both for the quotes and your analysis of them) so that people don't feel that you're taking the quote out of context or are mis-interpreting them on purpose.

Now, can we look at other factors which people might want to see on their lists, and, if you have the time, give an explanation (unless it's purely aesthetical, simply on emotional like/disklike level) as to how/why you chose certain suggestions over others? Thanks!

Yet another popular idea, this time to improve the Spriggat usefulness and versatility, without affecting the Spriggat's strength:

"Air Blast/Jet Stream
As it turns out, [Spriggat's name] learned that after long, laborious days training his wing muscles, and learning to control the Gift, he found out could flap his wings much stronger than before, making a very powerful gust of wind. Combined with his telekinetic powers, he could push enemies a distance away and make them trip on their feet, leaving them vunerable for attack. So that [Spriggat's name] doesn't fly back when he beats his wings in such a fashion, he learned to make a air cushion behind him using the Gift. Such a powerful attack is very energy-consuming, however.
Range: 1 space in front
Cost: 6
Damage: Strength + air blast level - 12
Effect: Pushes enemy back 1 space
Prerequisites: Strength: 15, Psy Power: 10"
