Pre-orders coming soon!

In the very near future, Telepath RPG: Servants of God will be made available for pre-order! You will get two big things when you pre-order the game:

  • unrestricted access to the full game as development proceeds. Want to explore Somnus, delve into the deeper crypts, or find out what happens after the execution? You’ll be able to do all that and more!
  • a 20% discount on the price of the game! When you pre-order, the game will cost $19.95 (as opposed to $24.95, the price tag it will carry upon full release).

I’m working out the details on making this happen right now. Stay tuned for the official announcement–once pre-ordering is available, you’ll be the first to know!

Great idea! This will really help keep the hype and interest up if we can play through the game as it is being developed.

  • michaelan

I love all the telepath games but why does this one cost money? πŸ™

  • CraigStern

RPGs take a very long time to make (I've been working on TSoG, for instance, for 3 years now). If I had just been relying on the income I got from TRPG1, TRPG2, and TPA all these years, I would have starved to death long ago. The only way I can get to a point where I develop games full-time is if I sell them. And I really want to develop games full-time. So I have to sell them. It's as simple as that.

  • Squareman1

yea, so were can i go to buy it, cause i really look forward to this game, i love all the telepath games they r the best πŸ˜€

  • Im2smart4u

I am glad that you went with the pre-order idea. $19.95 seems more then fair.

  • Chocobo_Fan

Yay! πŸ˜€ I'm so glad that SoG is almost complete! I'll try to pre-order it as soon as possible.

By the way, this is a bit off-topic, but would you be willing to post a section on the site devoted to all the music tracks in the Telepath games, instead of just the little sidebar on the main page? (a la I consider music to be a very important part of games, and would highly appreciate such a thing. You could also try selling the OST on Bandcamp if you want.

  • CraigStern

Have you visited this page yet?

It's not a comprehensive list of music for all of the games, but everything that's in TSoG, at least, is listed there.

  • Chocobo_Fan

Ah, I see. Would it be possible to link to it from the main site somewhere, though? I can't find any other links to it…

  • CraigStern

There's a link to it in the Music area of the Sinister Design forums.

  • If “the very near future” means “two weeks or so before Christmas,” your income is about to experience a major positive spike, as I sincerely doubt I'll be the only one making the jump on this offer. Very clever tactics, Craig.

I have played the previous games on newgrounds and other sites for free

Will this at some point happen for this game?

  • CraigStern

I expect to release a free demo on those sites, but the full version will remain pay-to-download.

  • Udduuddu

Have you ever thought about making a TSoG app?

  • CraigStern

I have. However, I would essentially have to rewrite the game from scratch. I prefer to release TSoG for PC, then work on something new.

While I (selfishly) would like to pay this game without playing, there's no logical argument against your decision. The demo currently cuts off during the rescue mission of the Player's parents if I recall. How much of a game is left after that, in terms of the story, number of battles, etc. etc. etc.?

  • Michaelan

Thanks for answering my question and I really hope you make more games. πŸ™‚

  • Ryandbz

Hey can you make a ” pay by cash” sort of thing. I've noticed that less sites are useig pay by cash, but can you do that.

  • CraigStern

BMT Micro accepts checks, PayPal, and wire transfers, as well as just about all major credit cards. So while they don't accept cash, they do accept pretty much everything else.

PayByCash, unfortunately, requires that merchants project at least $50,000 in sales in order to use the service, and I really don't have any way of showing that with TSoG.

  • Ryaad

It's basically a choice between putting a price tag on the games, making crappy games in the same amount of time, or taking eons to make good games. Craig choose to put a price tag on them, a decision I agree with as it allows us to play great games without waiting eons for the and also it makes sense as many of the Telepath players are willing to pay. Throw in the fact that TSoG looks like a game-with-a-price-tag quality game and boom you have a winning combination. (sorry for the long comment btw.)

  • bugfartboy

Now if only I can convince Mom and Dad. Hmm

  • Michaelan

That was some amazing music!!!!!!! Good job job, Craig!!!!!!!

  • sadley im only 13 so i can only play free games so this doesnt affect me at all, but please email me ASAP once you make your next free telepath game.

  • CraigStern

I remember when I was 13. I still got games because my parents bought them for me. Try asking your parents. πŸ˜‰
