Regarding the rules: what if we could 2 posts per page whenever we wanted. And the following posts in that page had to be at least 12h apart.
(I was thinking that it would be hard to check the "2 posts per day" rule, when we had more than one page filled in the same day.)

If you think my suggestion is even more complicated, the "2 posts per day" rule is good to me.

the 2 posts per day is easier. As long as we aren't to competitive about winning a game centered around when you post, it will work fine.

An alternative that would not hurt each of us very much would be a minimum interval of 6h between posts of the same person. This way you only had to look 6h in the past of this thread (instead of 24h). And someone really committed to win still has a chance.

Yes, but this is a different forum, and we aren't winning. Therefore, to get people to win sometimes, the game must be changed. The quantity of people on the forum is irrelevant (as far as I'm concerned...).
